We stopped by The Cellar in San Clemente for a night out and found exactly the kind of atmosphere that makes a place fun to linger. The restaurant was busy, with a lively crowd. It was the kind of place where sharing plates and a bottle of wine make sense. From my visit, we tried the Charcuterie & Cheese Board, sliders, ceviche, and the Burrata Salad with grilled peach. Everything was solid, but the Burrata Salad was the clear favorite. The combination of creamy burrata with grilled peach, heirloom tomato, fresh herbs, and the bright vinaigrette had a great balance of sweet, savory, and fresh flavors. It was the dish I'd come back for. The other plates rounded out the meal well, especially for sharing, and the wine selection was a highlight. For tips, I'd come ready to share several small plates and take advantage of the wine program. Since the room can get busy, expect a more energetic experience during peak times rather than a quiet dinner. This is a good fit for date night, catching up with friends, or anyone who enjoys wine, cheese boards, and a lively downtown San Clemente setting. The only small drawback is that the busier atmosphere may not be ideal if you are looking for a calm, intimate meal.

Still a go too location in San Clemente, I recently had brunch there which is served until 2pm and it was amazing! Perfectly cooked eggs, fresh bread and a great menu. The wine flights and bubbles are flowing and the cheese boards a must!

This was nothing short of an incredible brunch experience. We were sad there were no seats outdoors, but then were immediately appeased by the AMAZING vibe indoors with live music and a hilarious interactive musician. Our server was very nice and led us right by telling us to order the lavender latte and French toast. That was the best French toast I've ever had. The ceviche was also bomb. Everyone else had similarly great experiences with their food. Loved this and hope to be back someday.

If you're in San Clemente, The Cellar is an absolute must. The cheeseboard is incredible, beautifully curated with the perfect pairing of cheeses and accompaniments. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, and the fries were some of the best I've had. Honestly, every single thing we ordered was outstanding. Add in the cozy atmosphere and friendly service, and it's easy to see why this place is such a local favorite. I can't wait to come back!

Holly Molly this burrito is so good. Perfect flavor, just when I thought the cellar couldn't get any better. Must stop in for brunch or their eclectic hour

What a wonderful experience! My husband has been urging us to visit after moving back to San Clemente after 10 years, and I'm glad we finally did! It was a busy evening with Rabbi Blue, and what a performer, and a seemingly wonderful human. He and the band brought an infectious vibe that we will return for. Despite being super busy, our server was super efficient and effortlessly served all her tables. The charcuterie and cheese boards are extremely well prepared and expertly curated. Each meat or cheese had a perfect accoutrement and each was expertly described when delivered to the table (not that I remember all the details, but very impressive). The ribeye for main seemed simple but had incredible depth of flavour.

I loved this place! It's been on my watch list for a while. We went on a Saturday morning. No wait and the nice thing is its open seating; so you just find a table and the waitress comes up to you. We had prompt friendly service. The coffee/matcha was good nothing too special. But the breakfast burrito was so good! The ambiance sitting outside in the semi-shade on a beautiful day was so nice. Would love to return on a day they have music.

We love The Cellar! Whether it's a quick iced latte pick me up (their housemade lavender caramel is divine) or a moody date night, their service and ambiance are definitely on top. I love bringing friends here for a cute gals night or just enjoying a solo date on the patio. They're so festive right now with all the cute decor but I love them year round! Always impeccable menu options and fantastic service. The carrot cake is delicious! Parking is along Del Mar and some back lots along the street.

The Cellar is the best spot in town! Great place to grab food and a drink, they have live music and the ambiance is great! Definitely will be ordering the Ceaser salad and fries again! gluten free friendly place if you have celiac.

Wow I absolutely loved this place! Parking is along the street and it can get busy so account for time to park. My friend& I had brunch so we sat outside which was so cute. Inside looked lovely as well. Service was fast & friendly. To drink I got the French 75 which was perfect, for appetizers we had the truffle popcorn which was one of the best I've had, for mains we got the burrata salad with salmon & the breakfast sandwich with sidewinder fries which were both excellent. Will definitely be coming back.

Cute little place for breakfast or lunch right in downtown San Clemente. We got mimosas for $12/each which was reasonably priced, and the chilaquilas were delicious and the perfect amount for the both of us to share. Service was great and we sat in the outside tables by the street. It was wonderful!

    Do you have Vegan options?

We do have salads that are vegan as well as our hummus with fresh vegetables. Truffle popcorn is vegan as well as well. Please inform your server so they can make adjustments where needed.

To the Owner/Manager, Do you serve organic produce?

We do have a new menu coming out next week and we will have organic produce featured in most of the salads. We also have natural & organic wines and artisanal raw milk cheeses...

Are you guys not serving breakfast and coffee anymore?

They claim they do have coffee, its listed on their website, but they have made the blunder of not putting it on their in-person menus

For someone who generally doesn't eat much meat; one would be shocked to learn that my favorite…read morego-to snack is jerky. Beef, venison, turkey... I love it all! I just love cured meats! On the road, at home, doesn't matter where... I love me some jerky, baby! To say the least, I was quite overjoyed when I happened to come across Gus's Fresh Jerky in San Clemente. Let's explore... Gus's Fresh Jerky originated its jerky roots where most great jerky spots begin: on a freeway catering to the road warriors. Gus's has since expanded to two more locations (family-run by the daughter who hopes to takes over all the stores) with one holding real estate on the main shopping/dining strip of Avenida del Mar in San Clemente. It is pretty much a requirement for Angelinos to make a pit stop in San Clemente when heading to San Diego or back; which is exactly what I did when I left the City of Angels to spend a weekend in San Diego for my 41st birthday. While searching for a brunch spot; I noticed the Gus's Jerky signage and carelessly/unsafely ran across the street because I was so excited! Even though Gus's Fresh Jerky isn't large in terms of square footage; it has a little bit of everything in terms of provisions: the jerky of course, jams, honeys, crackers/snack mixes, sweets; and even cowboy hats and t-shirts. It's basically the wild wild west to a T. Upon entering, we were immediately welcomed by a female associate who was giving away seasonal jerky samples (apple pie flavor, pumpkin) alongside some regulars like garlic and spicy varietals. I can vouch that Gus's artisanal jerky is indeed satisfying in terms of selection: the flavors are unique and NOT run of the mill. This goes for the variety of other goods, as well. Gus's is simply fun to browse. But a warning: these are NOT cheap! The jerky ran $20! Although all jerky nowadays even a standard Jack Links at the super market is expensive. There was no way I could leave without making a purchase, despite the prices, so we purchased some garlic jerky and a dried cracker snack mix. Jerky tends to come in two 'styles': dry and wet. Gus's Fresh Jerky features both but I prefer wet which is exactly their Garlic jerky. I liked the jerky well enough and it did have garlic flavor -- it was too overly salty. Not bad but just not the best for $20. The main problem was the cracker mix. It was terrible and tasted very stale. I am not talking, "It is dehydrated so supposed to be dry". I'm talking we agreed it was stale tasting. We we already back on the road before we tried it so couldn't go back to exchange or return or whatever their policy would accommodate. Quite a bummer. A side note in this political climate: Gus's Fresh Jerky featured a display in their front window promoting the now-deceased Charlie Kirk. I won't say more here in terms of a political discourse as Yelp is NOT the place for such a debate and you decide what businesses you do or do not patron; but I have a right to mention it being in the display window the same way that Gus's has the right to support whomever they please. Gus's is 'cute' in terms of offerings and will probably satisfy your jerky cravings but it is a bit too salty and the cracker snack mix was stale. Just a bit of a let down based on its gourmet price point. But overall, it is solid enough if you choose to visit this business.
