Service was slow and not attentive. Fondue was decent, but not enough to bring me back

We went for my birthday and noted it in the reservation. For a restaurant at this price point, I…read morewas surprised there wasn't even a small birthday dessert or any acknowledgment. Not a huge deal, but it felt like a missed opportunity for hospitality. The appetizers were the highlight of the night. The steak tartare was excellent, the foie gras was rich and buttery, and the oysters were fresh and well-prepared. Honestly, the apps carried the meal. Mains were more mixed. My friend wasn't a fan of the short rib, the steak was just okay, but the clam chowder was a hit. Not pictured, but the date cake was the best dessert -- we ended up ordering the full dessert assortment and that one stood out. The space itself is dark and cozy, though surprisingly empty for a weekend. Don't think I'd return but it was a pleasant dinner.

The Hokkaido scallops were tender and lightly sweet, while the steak tartare was fresh, well-seasoned, and cleanly executed. The ribeye steaks were the highlight--perfectly cooked with a great crust and rich flavor. Sides of carrots, kale, and broccoli were simple, fresh, and balanced the meal well. Refined but relaxed atmosphere, attentive service, and consistently solid execution. An easy recommendation for a date night or celebratory dinner in Whistler.

We ended up at Araxi thanks to their $45 four course special, and thank goodness for that, because…read morewe probably never would've gone otherwise. This place has always felt like one of those "special occasion only" restaurants that are usually out of reach. The special menu was such a steal and so wonderful!!! Every course came out looking delightful, from the bright, delicate starters to the beautifully cooked mains to desserts that made us slow down just to savor the moment. I didn't want the food to stop flowing. Service was warm without being stuffy, the vibe was lively but still intimate, and the whole night felt like we'd accidentally unlocked a VIP experience. If you've ever walked past Araxi thinking "maybe someday," this is your sign. Go when they're running the special during spring ski season!

Araxi did not disappoint, though I'm disappointed in myself for missing their apres deal with a discounted fondue using cave aged gruyere! Definitely reserve ahead of time during peak season. They start you with fresh herbed ciabatta and sourdough with olive oil and butter, and both breads were great but especially so for our hungry kids. They had the most perfectly sharpened quality colored pencils and a coloring/activity sheet for the kids, which was much appreciated! Drinks: - The Cure: talisker 10, pineapple, mezcal float - Fig Jam: fig infused mezcal, apple cider, fig jam, spices - great to start They also had a good wine list, and they even had some local wines by the half bottle, which was a nice option, so we got a local Pinot. Food: - Oysters: island tide and kusshi, served with traditional mignonette and horseradish - Ricotta gnocchi: with wild mushrooms, cheesy lemon fonduta, crispy sage - a smaller portion but good for sharing as an appetizer - Pacific crab and matane shrimp cake: no fillers, perfectly seared, with a great local pear and avocado salsa verde - Seared scallops: perfectly seated, with local sunchokes, crispy prosciutto, grilled bok choy, xharred pepper romesco - Ora king salmon: similar to the kids' one but dressed up, with roasted beats, beet and ginger salsa, goat cheese arancini - House made bucatini: mentaiko style with spicy cod roe, humobldt squid, breadcrumbs. This had a nice kick, and the pasta texture was great - Kids' fish: seared salmon with risotto and bok choy - a generous portion of perfectly seared salmon! Dessert: - Valrhona chocolate fondant: warm gooey chocolate cake with tahitian vanilla bean ice cream and chocolate crisps Service was great and very kid friendly (including copper mule cups for their water!). We ordered a lot of food for 2 adults and 2 young kids, but everything was so great - every item was a hit. There's a reason why we keep coming back to Araxi!

We biked out here for lunch and loved it so much we came back for dinner. Was the best reasonably priced food in Whistler that we found. I am celiac and they did a great job of accommodating plus I could have dessert here!! Our group had pizza, tuna dishes, the chicken sandwich, prawn tacos, soup of the day, fish and chips, and of course the crème brûlée and lemon dessert. Everything was delicious and the service was great!

We got the lamb sausage pizza with medjool dates and spicy tomato sauce, highly recommend!! I love salty and a bit of spice with sweet. Pizzas are about $11-$13 during happy hour, super worth it. I have never tried fondue so I couldn't pass up the opportunity. I thought the fondue was thinner and would be made with a sharper cheese. For $18, I would skip this. Perhaps their $65 fondue set with cheese and chocolate is made better. It's not in the main village in Whistler so you do need to drive over to the golf course. Free parking outfront which is great and the views in the seating area with the lake was amazing! Definitely would come back for the ambiance.
