    That's octopus tostada very delicious

We just finished one of the most satisfactory dining experience at Chandler's steakhouse. Food was amazing. I had mentioned a few years back that Chandler's was one of the best steakhouses we had patronized. The same holds true tonight. Our ribeye was fantastic. Our duck wings were delicious. Our addition of crab Oscar hit the the spot. Our server Matthew is absolutely the best. With such a great sense of humor and so professional and prompt w his service, we must remember to ask for him again! (Thank you for honoring our anniversary w the house dessert.)

The Chandler, nestled in Springfield, Massachusetts, rises as a bastion of culinary brilliance and sublime ambiance, unveiling a remarkable dining escapade that intertwines culinary finesse with a warm, welcoming atmosphere seamlessly. The bar dining area is adorned with an elegant accouter bar and nocturnal tables, projecting a captivating orange glow that beckons invitingly. The architectural splendor, punctuated by grandiose fluted pillars, melds harmoniously with the plush high-back red velvet seating and the private alcove seating located in the rotunda dining room. This thoughtful arrangement offers a majestic and secluded dining experience, immersing patrons in the exquisite architectural beauty of the establishment. Specifically, from the grand long table, diners are afforded a fascinating glimpse into the kitchen, witnessing steaks kissed by leaping flames as they sear to perfection. This inclusion of innovative transparency allows The Chandler's culinary prowess and passion to be displayed openly. The ambiance is a meticulous orchestration of soft, upbeat music at a harmonious volume, blending seamlessly with the serenity of the surrounding street. This sensory dance is further enhanced by servings of fresh, warm wheat brioche bread and butter, perfectly complemented by sparkling Pellegrino water. The Chandler curates a distinctive and refined cocktail menu. A standout is the "Dancing in the Moonlight" steakhouse cocktail, a delightful symphony of Jasmine Rose Gin, Cointreau, Lemon, and Simple Syrup, crowned with a black cherry at the bottom. The beverage suite also features an old-fashioned with Basil Hayden and a Cherry Pie Pinot Noir, noted for its fruity, smooth characteristics and light tannins. My culinary voyage began with a cold, crisp Caesar salad, enriched with extra anchovies, introducing a remarkable briny essence from the fresh anchovies, beautifully amalgamated with generous slices of cheese and sugary sweet homemade croutons. The entrée, an 18 oz bone-in ribeye steak, executed to Pittsburgh medium with Worcestershire marinated roasted garlic, epitomized culinary excellence. The accompanying black truffle macaroni with Fontina Cheese; and smoky grilled "Blistered" Asparagus with a delectable Gribiche sauce unveiled an ethereal smoky essence, marking a culinary epiphany. This gourmet journey culminated with a meticulously brewed cappuccino, lightly dusted with cinnamon, emblematic of their refined culinary craftsmanship. The staff at The Chandler demonstrated notable professionalism and hospitality, with extremely attentive support staff ensuring a seamless and enjoyable dining experience, marked by their unwavering commitment to guest satisfaction, enhancing the overall joy of every attendee. To conclude, The Chandler is a culinary gem, harmonizing innovative culinary creations with a sumptuous and inviting atmosphere. The perfect fusion of unmatched craftsmanship, culinary brilliance, dedicated service, and opulent ambiance creates an unparalleled dining journey, solidifying The Chandler as a supreme destination for all discerning connoisseurs of gourmet cuisine in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Pretty good. Sat in a booth in the lounge area. Good atmosphere. Went on Saturday around 6pm Clientele was all 50+. Waitress was very nice. Ordered drinks and dinner. The bread looks like a banana bread but it was regular and delicious. I ordered the steak and fries. It was cooked more than I like but I still ate it all. Would return.

Yum. Gun like Mother Nature intended

To be honest we don't eat here. But the martinis are great. After getting royally screwed over by South West and having to make alternate arrangements this is just the bar we needed

Fresh veggies! This is good! Now the bread and dipping oil. This is a new bread for this place. The two pieces are huge and coated lightly with flour. I like the dipping oil too! My steak was overcooked and the Brussels sprouts were hard and undercooked. At first, we told our waitress everything was okay, but after more discussion toward the end of the meal, we decided the expensive steak was truly overdone and mentioned it. Our waitress was incredibly apologetic and immediately offered to have a new steak made and to take it off the bill. The manager was also so helpful and amazing in making things right. Even though the meal itself wasn't up to their usual standard, the way the situation was handled proves exactly why we keep coming back. Truly impeccable service and still one of our favorite spots.

We opted for a more tapas style light dinner. With sesame crusted tuna, Cobb salad, fondue tower, and calamari 1/2&1/2. We appreciated the 1/2 and 1/2 option for the calamari (1/2 Rhode island, 1/2 regular) but when the plate came you couldn't tell the divide. Which was an issue for those that don't want spicy. The bar was very busy and the cocktail menu seems very good. So I can definitely see this place as your after work dinner with friends place to be. But for a calm casual dinner - maybe not. Overall it is a good place. But probably not for everyone - but doesn't need to be.

We went on to try the BBQ tacos and the BBQ platter, both outstanding. The Grand daddy was a one-and-done cocktail for me as it was strong. I would highly recommend it if you like an old-fashioned. Not sure if that was the telling sign but for a rainy Saturday afternoon I would expect someone in here. Few people did show up after I ordered so that was good. Looked over the menu and none of the apps really stood out so went with what I came here for which was the brisket. Ordered that with a side of beans, brussels sprouts and a key lime pie to finish off the meal afterwards. Nothing I had screamed I need to come back soon. The pastrami did look good in one of the pictures here on Yelp, and a couple of gentlemen who showed up later order chicken sandwiches and I overheard them saying they were chicken sandwich connoisseurs and it was very good. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing? I was happy about the service. Struck a nice conversation with the bartender about the music playlist and how pleasing it was to hear some tracks that really fly under the radar being played. I do want to give here another chance being close to home. Place is pricey for bbq and as I said was not overly impressed with the food. There is a place near Stowe, VT that has really set the bar for me of what really good brisket is. And there is BT's in Strubridge, MA. which too has good selection of bbq.

My waitress was awesome very friendly, quick to get me my order quick to get me my drink, I asked her about the menu. She was very happy to help with what she thought was good. I told her what I was looking at, and she suggested the four course Special where I could choose most of the things I wanted. And they did it for a price that was more than reasonable I was actually shocked that it was such a low cost. The food was delicious. I could eat a whole bowl of those brussels sprouts and nothing else and been happy. The salmon was cooked perfectly at the top it all off I had dessert which I hardly ever do and that apple strudel was delicious. I was a little confused by the layout of the restaurant, but it still seems inviting and warm. There was absolutely nothing negative about this place it just didn't have a flow to it if that makes sense. There was a lower dining area and there were some wall between the bar and part of the dining room, but the wall had windows it almost felt like an addition put in later but it wasn't. I don't know I'm not a restaurant designer. The most important part is that the atmosphere was great. The food was better and the staff was awesome. I did feel that the presentation could have been a little cleaner and a little more rice but the dish still held our tastebuds satisfied. We are both gluten free which can be difficult . We ordered their price fix menu which included salad, main dish and desert. We decided that was a good choice. The salad came with a lot of unsavory dead end pieces in it which immediately affects the taste and look of the salad. I would give that a very poor presentation with just a small amount of taste. The deserts that came with it were all gluten deserts. That required us to order an extra dish, the bananas foster which should be good. The presentation was not good at all. The bananas were not caramelized which is part of this signature dish and the bananas were mushy and tasteless. It came topped with ice cream. All in all a disappointing addition we had to pay for. The service was very good and I did tell the waiter of our disappointment with the bananas foster and he said " I am sorry" , I guess I should have asked for the manager but the waiter did suggest to take home the two deserts that we were owed. My husband would probably enjoy them. The cheese cake was very disappointing. It was dull, heavy and tasteless, I took a taste of the cheese parts. The apple strudel passable. They can do better. I know they have a large volume clientele but taste and presentation are key to returning customers at least it is to this customer and her friend. It will be awhile until we venture there again. Maybe they will take this review seriously and make some changes. I would suggest adding a gluten free desert offering to the price fix desert menu like flourless chocolate cake or chocolate mousse something if you want to attract a larger more versatile clientele. The redfish novelle is a very nice dish that I do recommend.
