    strawberry and champagne birthday cake

I just ordered the champagne cake and cannoli for a teenage Covid birthday. The champagne cake was ridiculously good. Not too sweet and flavorful with a real kick. The cannoli shells were so light and crisp. They were amazing with the chocolate chips. We ordered a dozen cream horns and cannoli thinking that we would have enough and we literally all ate two of them...with the cake. Skip dinner and just eat Charming Kitchen desserts! Best Italian Bakery in the South Bay.

Excellent cannoli's for my girlfriends 40th birthday. Everyone was delighted!!! I'm Sicilian and almost made them....so glad we spent the day drinking mimosas instead. Thank you Charming Kitchen for not only the delicious desert but also for such a nice presentation!! Great Job!!!

Beautiful and delicious cake, cupcakes and cookies.

Our babies first birthday was made even more memorable by the stunning cake, cupcakes and cookies from The Charming Kitchen. All treats tasted as good as they looked. The cake was moist, with wonderful flavor, and not too sweet. The cupcakes and cookies were equally as delicious. Charming is easy to work with and makes sure everything turns out just right. Highly recommended for the next time you need treats at a special event!

Cannoli's delivered right to our home, this is 2 chocolate and 1 traditional.

While searching for a bakery in San Jose area now that Aki's is closed and Wilsons, I came across The Charming Kitchen. I am SO Glad I did. I didn't even know there was an Italian bakery in San Jose, let alone one that also has Sicilian treats too! While they don't have a storefront just yet, Vanessa is awesome and will deliver your order right to you! We ordered 6 cannoli and they were amazing! Very fresh and delicious! The cannoli tubes were just as good as the cream. They didn't last long in the house at all. My husband loved the citron one, while I preferred the chocolate and the traditional. I can't wait to try the other goodies she offers.

Amazing cakes, mini cupcakes, & cupcakes for bridal shower!

Over the weekend, we hosted a bridal shower for our best friend. Needless to say, we wanted to go above & beyond for her and throw the bridal shower of her dreams! We contacted The Charming Kitchen to see what they could do for us, and boy did they deliver. They made unique cakes for dessert, along with cupcakes & mini cupcakes. Not only did they taste amazing, but the desserts were decorated perfectly for the shower and the wedding colors were spot-on. It felt like the cakes even added to the décor just by being there. The desserts were easily delivered and set up on the day of the shower. The Charming Kitchen was great to work with, and the shower would not have been the same without their help...everyone loved the desserts!! Would definitely recommend The Charming Kitchen and work with them again!

Assorted Italian Cookies at Rose's 100th Birthday Party!

Well, I made that August order and the cookies did not last long at the party! Again, Vanessa delivered on schedule and was very pleasant and helpful throughout the order process. No particular cookie stood out as anyone's favorite because they were all so good! Thanks so much for making Rose's 100th birthday celebration so special.

The bakery displays were filled with delicious treats and we waited for fresh egg tarts and pandan waffles. Did I mention how good it smells in here!? Also, the auntie helping us was so sweet! Anyways, my family got durian egg tarts, Portuguese egg tarts, pandan cookies, Viet coffee cookies, and pandan waffles. Definitely a random assortment, but everything here is so good. The egg tarts were so flakey and the perfect sweetness. We all preferred the durian egg tarts!! I also liked the texture and taste of the cookies. I can't wait to come back here for more baked goods!

We couldn't find a seat, so we decided to take it home. The QR menu was convenient. The staff were busy and looking tired making shaved ice. They also have a good selection of matcha drinks, coffee, and Korean pastry. I gotta try it out next time. We waited a bit, but they packed it so well that it didn't melt on the way home. It was really good. Good job guys! Overall the service was great, just watch the parking. It can be tricky during busy hrs. Just saying....

Not only does it get really busy after work hours, many parking spots are reserved for other businesses. It's also usually crowded inside, making snagging a seat a bit hard. It's a popular spot, and I can see why--the menu features many different bingsoo options alongside other desserts, and they're all very beautiful and cute. There's also free WiFi and bathroom access. I will note that they don't seem particularly diligent about cleaning up between customers. You pick your own seats, and when I finally found a table, there was food residue visible on the tabletop. Their prices are a little higher than some other spots in SJ (ranging from ~$13 to $19 pre-tax), and I don't think the quality of the bingsoo is noticeably better to justify the price. I tried a pricier one (the premium strawberry), and found it to be quite good, but not $20 good. Plus, some aspects seem designed more for pictures than for eating. The little cheesecake slice is a bit hard because it's cold and difficult to eat with the shaved ice. That said, their bingsoo does taste good! The fruit tasted fresh and sweet, and the portion was enough for me to share with my partner. I wish the condensed milk was provided on the side instead of already poured on top, but I didn't mind the amount they gave. I may not be back immediately in the future, but I wouldn't mind visiting again. I would probably stick to the lower-priced options myself, though. If you visit, do keep in mind that it's usually really busy--your order probably will take a minute, and whether that's worth it or not is up to you.

They give you the option to put double matcha (for the honey matcha latte) which is a plus! The double shot of matcha and the honey pairs really well together. It has the perfect amount of sweetness and a perfect amount of matcha to make it taste rich without being bitter. The strawberry matcha latte has strawberry puree and strawberry bits which makes it taste really sweet. It's a really good contrast of flavors and an overall solid strawberry matcha latte. They also updated the self-ordering kiosk with 2 instead of one now, so there's barely any lines now compared to when they first opened. The drinks are a lot quicker so you don't have to wait too long. There's also no seats inside but there's plenty of waiting space on the outside patio! Overall I would highly recommend this place for matcha lovers. Their matcha is super rich in flavor and they have a lot of options. Sometimes, they also have matcha powder in stock too! The spot is also right off of 280 so it's pretty convenient.

My first experience was pretty mid because the ceremonial matcha latte was VERY strong and bitter. I couldn't finish it and it made me super jittery. After coming back a few more times though, I found a couple things I really liked. The Crème Brûlée Matcha was delicious. I finished the entire drink. You can't change the sweetness level, which is unfortunate, but their recommended sweetness actually balanced the stronger matcha really well. The ice cream is probably the best thing here. Super creamy, perfectly sweet and really well blended. I would honestly come back just for the ice cream. The strawberry matcha latte was pretty unmemorable to me, and the hojicha was also extremely bitter. Service was good. The barista was kind and helpful, which I appreciated. You order through a kiosk, so there isn't a ton of interaction overall. When I first came around their opening, there was basically no line. After they started getting more hype, the lines became longer and longer. I think it's worth trying, but personally I wouldn't wait in a huge line for it. Overall, the matcha itself tastes authentic and is prepared well, but some drinks are just too bitter for my preference. My recommendations: the ice cream or Crème Brûlée Matcha. Those were easily the standouts for me.
