Honestly, this place hasn't changed much since I was a kid in the 90s and it was Ann's Place. I will say I think the food has gotten better. The service is pretty good and the ambiance good if you don't mind how dark it is when you walk in. As long as you ask to sit in front of the window you should be fine as the view is beautiful and you can usually catch a couple of Swans near by. The food is so good. Especially for the price point! I didn't expect much tbh but this is my 2nd time back in a couple of months and the food hit both times! Consistent and yummy!

The view, that's the one star, everything else was pretty terrible, the bread was like fresh from a grocery store, but it was fresh, the soup and salad we ordered came out after our burgers were served. The salad was ok, thick slice of onion unripe tomatoes. The burgers were overcooked and dry, mine was missing the onions, the fries were good. The chowder came with a thick coating of skin Our waiter was attentive at first then just nowhere to be found. On the way there was a booth of people who worked there?!? Doing nothing, but saying bye thank you for coming, maybe they should help manage the waitstaff

Food was outstanding. The price was not but I had a gift cars. I got a Sunday special. Chicen Parm in a vodka sauce with noodles. Real good. But it came with a soup or salad. I asked for Cesar salad. They never put the salad in the takeout bag. I should have checked but I trust they'd be efficient. Oh well.

I've been here many times and always enjoy it. The atmosphere is a bit old school, with dark wood and wide booths. The service is usually very good. We were greeted immediately and offered a choice of seating. We had a roomy, comfy booth. The menu offers a wide variety, including specialty seasonal cocktails and daily specials for meals. There's a lunch menu but the entire menu is also available. We were there for lunch, but I couldn't resist the red sangria. It was amazing and a generous pour. I ordered the Eggplant Parm sandwich with onion rings. My date chose the Broiled Scallops. Our waiter offered to bring bread, but never returned. Just as well, because my sandwich was served on enough bread for two. Perhaps I should have asked for a description of the "Chateau Scali Bread." But it sounded delicious. It was, but it was cut far to thick for a sandwich like this. To make matters worse, the eggplant was barely warm. After a few bites, I removed the top of the bread and enjoyed it open faced style - a bit messy but doable. The onion rings were another story. They stole the show! Thinly sliced, golden fried and not greasy. And they were nice and hot. They saved the day, Along with the sangria. The scallops got good reviews and looked very good. They arrived with a generous portion of mashed potatoes and a side of Cole slaw. He cleaned his plate. Our food was delivered by someone other than our waiter. He eventually reappeared, sans bread, and reported having just returned from foot surgery. TMI, perhaps, or an excuse for being absent. I commented on the difficulty, with being in his feet so much. He replied, 'no shit" and left the check. Not the best experience and certainly not up to par with previous dining experiences there. I would definitely return, but would avoid the scali bread (and the waiter) in the future. Forgive the late photo, dear reader, as I had worked thru half the meal before remembering.

To wait half an hour beyond the time stated for a carry out order is unacceptable. I didn't even get an apology until I complained!

There's a nonna back there that knows what she's doing! The restaurant has two sides and is cozy. The wine selection is excellent, and our waiter recommended a Montepulciano that was so phenomenal we ended up ordering a whole bottle. We're still craving it days later. We started with the oysters, which I believe were from Wellfleet, and they were outstanding. They were meaty, fresh, and had no brine/salty taste at all. Even the bread with olive oil was memorable because it was perfectly salted and soo flavorful. For my entree, I had the chicken piccata with house‑made gnocchi--- simply divine. Truly one of the best gnocchis I've ever had! Wish there was more of them though. This was our first time trying the restaurant and it was SO good. Everything from the food, the wine, the service, it made for a fantastic experience. We'll definitely be back!

Today we had the opportunity to visit the Taunton location for a bereavement luncheon after a family funeral, and I was truly impressed. The luncheon was held in a beautiful private room upstairs that was set up perfectly for our gathering. Everything was elegant, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged. The meal was served family-style buffet, and every dish was outstanding. The quality of the food was exactly what we've come to expect from La Familia--fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. What really stood out, though, was the staff. They were incredibly welcoming and attentive to everyone's needs, yet never rushed our group. Considering the emotional circumstances of the day, their kindness and professionalism meant a lot to all of us. And I have to mention the bread--whoever makes it deserves special recognition. I would happily buy a loaf or two every week if I could. A sincere chef's kiss to the entire establishment and especially the function team who handled our event so beautifully. La Familia continues to prove why it's such a special place for our family.

When the server tells you the evening specials you are left to guess how much they are charging for them. Personally, I think you shouldn't have to ask the cost of specials seeing as the menu has prices. We did asked the price of the filet mignon special because the 2 on the menu were a 10oz for $69.95, other filet was 10oz for $71.95. the 10 oz filet mignon special was $99.95 with asparagus on top with a demi glaze & mashed potatoes. So I am guessing the asparagus is the reason for the additional $30.00?? One of the other specials was a whole lobster with the lobster meat and stuffing inside and a side of mashed Unfortunately we did not ask the price of this special. We really didn't think it would be more than the filet. Guess again...bill came and the 2 lobster specials we had ordered were $120.00 EACH. Husbands had chicken dishes, we had total 4 glasses of wine, 1 baileys and 2 desserts. Bill total $450.00 yet this really isn't the main reason I am writing this review. The maitre had come over to our table to ask how our meal was, he never made eye contact with us again and completely ignored us answering his question. He was merely trying to push us along to free up the table. He was rude and arrogant to say the least! Meanwhile after spending $450.00 for what was really just an average dinner this is how the patrons are treated. No thank you. We will stick to Mia Regazza in Abington or Marshfield or Alma Nova in Hingham to just mention a few. Funny "Average J" review below he says "Oh, and the white haired maître D guy needs a new white sport coat- looks like the buttons are about to pop off. He is right about that. My husband had the same comment.
