The food was good, it always is. The service sucked, as happens sometimes. We've now had three bad experiences with a particular server. I'll call him D. We were a party of 4. He ignored our table in favor of others with more people. He took forever to take our order, never came back once the food was delivered, did not ask to refill drinks, did not ask if we wanted dessert, and took 30 minutes to bring our check. He was abrupt in all our interactions, my daughter is a server and she noticed this as well. We love the food at Trattoria Romana, but sometimes the service can wreck the experience. The salmon was probably the most delicious meal I've ever had. It came with San marzano tomatoes, mushrooms, capers, and olives with just a bit of pasta! It was a good size piece of salmon too. It was perfect. For a beverage, I got a peach mango cosmo, which was also delicious. My friend and I shared a lemon tuxedo cake for dessert, which was really tasty. I deducted one star due to the parking situation. We had a 5:30 reservation and the lot was already full. You can park down the street and catch a shuttle back to the restaurant, which is great, but there is no signage explaining this. So there were about three cars in this very small and full parking lot trying to do three point turns and back out at the same time. It was chaotic and made me late for my reservation. read more

dinner here last night with my daughter and her fiancé we ordered from the days specials. she and i had an incredible lobster ravioli in a vodka sauce with mushrooms and peas. huge portions. i took some home for lunch today. he had veal parm which he loved also a very large portion. we ended with desserts they serve from Montilios strawberry shortcake. First came here in early 2024 for a family dinner. We enjoyed it so much that we came back here for another family dinner in early 2025. The bar has a great selection of cocktails and beer. Also, the wine list is decent too. Both times we dined here, we visited on a Saturday night and the restaurant was packed. However, the service was still excellent and never felt there was a delay in getting more drinks or our food. The food is very well made, and portions are large. I had the Costoletta Di Maiale (center cut grilled pork chop with demi-glaze and peppers). It was excellent. Based on my experience, I would consider reservations a must have on weekend nights, especially with lager groups. The restaurant is large, but both times was fully packed. VERY DISAPPOINTED Tried to book an event here & the event planners, Caroline & Allan were impossible! Indicated all of the details of the event & date we needed in my first correspondence with them, and all I got was a pamphlet via email on their "event options." When I had follow up questions that were not listed in the pamphlet, it took 3 weeks for someone to respond to me, only to tell me that the date I need was already booked! We should've returned the stuffed mushrooms because they were microwaved but I think I was just so embarrassed that they even gave them to us. Dinner was very nice, although I've never thought calamari would ever be served that small. It was smaller than the upper proportion of my first finger, but it was fresh and hot. A wonderful Italian local Italian experience without the chain restaurant feel. This restaurant has good food, service, and ambiance. The menu is varied and will cover anyone in the family. The portions are ample and often yield leftovers. In addition to the classic Italian fare, there pizza is excellent too. The pastries are exceptional and beautifully done. As with the meals, there is no skipping on portion size. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Parking is ample with two lots located on each side. There is no street parking. I made reservations a week in advance for a party of seven. When we got there, they seated us at a TINY table in the back room. I would have preferred them to turn our reservation away when I called a week ago, rather than taking it and giving me the impression they had somewhere appropriate to seat us. And, the back room was so cold! They did turn up the heat when we asked, but when we arrived, there were people wearing their coats. We had two young kids in our party, so fortunately we were able to put them in the middle seats and make the best of our cramped table. I feel really bad for any group made up of seven adults that ends up there!! They have no business seating seven people at such a small table. Our waiter forgot several requests. I'll just assume they're understaffed like most places these days, rather than blaming him. He was very friendly and obviously trying hard. Food was great as always, so, three stars.
