    Chicken Parmigiana

Thank goodness I found a spot nearby with truly fresh Italian food. I thought I'd have to keep making that hour-long drive to the North End. Honestly, Trattoria Della Nonna may be better. They take cards, there's more space, and everything just feels easier. We ordered takeout since it was a busy Saturday night, and we were right to assume the place would be packed. The restaurant is located on the main road in Mansfield, but the entrance is on the side, giving it a bit of a speakeasy vibe. Inside, it's cozy, with two rooms. A bar and dining area in the back, and a reservation-only room up front. The chicken parmigiana was fresh, tender, and the sauce was spot-on. We also got the tomato bruschetta, truffle fries, and Caesar salad. The Caesar was fine, but would have been better with more dresssing. The bruschetta was excellent and the fries were amazing. Honestly, you really can't go wrong with anything here.

I really wanted to love this place but it was just ok, but could've just been it wasn't our cup of tea. Located in downtown Mansfield - street parking only. Just note that the entrance is not at the front of the building, it's at a side door down the alleyway. We came here for our anniversary dinner as the mister knows I love a good home made pasta and from reading that everything is made fresh with hand picked ingredients, he thought the pasta was homemade as well, unfortunately only the gnocchi and ravioli were made in house. We were told that due to staff shortage, they couldn't keep up with making fresh pasta anymore. The bread appetizer was good that had a tasty olive oil that accompanied it. The fresh ricotta and pecorino/prosciutto sticks - both were fine but nothing phenomenal. We both ordered parmigiana after we were told their parm is delicious as they don't put it in the oven twice - so we got one chicken and one veal. We realized when it came out what they meant - the burrata on the parm was cold. Very interesting rendition but not for us. I didn't like a bite of warm chicken then a bite of cold burrata to follow up. Our favorite prob was the dessert, toffee cake - it was a nice finish to dinner. The service was good but it was pretty busy that night so everything felt a bit chaotic, but kudos to the team as glasses were always filled and dishes were cleared promptly. It does feel a bit tight but I'm sure they try to maximize the space they have. It's a bit out of the way so we won't be rushing back.

If you want real authentic Italian food? This is your place. You can pick between a elegant dining room or a nice seat on the patio on the street of this nice peaceful town. The service was great from the first hello. Everyone was so nice and helpful. It felt like family. Our meal started with the cheese stuffed dates and eggplant. These were fabulous. We then had our mains come out. Not only did these look wonderful but hey tasted out of this world good. The spaghetti was just like grandmas and the other dishes were to die for. If you are looking for a great dinner out or a special meal date, give this place a try.

Nice spot for dinner. We arrived shortly after 6:30, seat was ready for us. Staffing was short but they did the best they could. We ordered 1/2 portion scallops for an appetizer. We got The pork chop and aqua pazza with halibut for the other entree. Both meals were very good. Dessert was almond cake and cappuccino. Great spot will certainly go again.

"Walk in as strangers, leave as friends."…read more If that's not a saying that makes you want to head there now, then I don't know what is LOL! Obviously, there is more to the new renovated location of La Cantina than this saying but I will say I was pretty impressed when I saw it and knew I had to add it to my review. Let's just say it is pretty accurate. We did leave as friends since we made a few at the bar and then some. Just saying! La Cantina winery in Franklin, MA used to be a small wine bar that offered wine tasting flights and minimal food. BUT, now it is in a stunning new location (not far from their old stomping grounds). Fun Fact: It used to be a Mechanic garage. Well, wait until you see how it has turned from fixing cars to wine making and tasting. YOU HAVE GOT TO COME HERE! Parking is easy with plenty of spots. They have a lot of room at their gorgeous bar, but they also have high tops and tables for families or a large group. And, they host events here too; birthday parties, bridal showers, and anything in between, this place is it. I actually want to hold one of my milestone birthday parties here but well keep the number a secret for now. Service: Alana was our bartender and she was wonderful. Always asking us what we needed and how were doing. You don't get this upscale service any where else. And, when I wanted another sample of something she gave it to me without a fuss. Always with a smile on her face, she was the best. Wine: They have an excellent wine menu to choose from and they offer flights for about $25 pp. Flights are the best way to try multiple wines. I personally loved most of the red wines with Petit Sirah being my favorite. My husband loved their Barbera! I did sample their Sauv Blanc too which was nice but it was too cold to have a full pour. Food: Their menu is great with a ton of options from charcuterie, to tapas and some entrees. I will say some of their items can get expensive but definitely worth it. We started with a few cheeses and prosciutto. Then we ordered one of their popular pizzas called La Cantina. Everything was fresh, made in house with their beautiful pizza oven right smack in the middle of the bar. You have got to see this thing, its huge! Overall: If I could give this place 10 stars I would. We had the best time and we can't wait to go back. Franklin is not far from where we live but still a good 30 minute drive and also not far from the Wrentham outlets. We didn't have to make a reservation for a Sunday afternoon but I bet Saturdays can get pretty busy. I just loved everything about this wine bar and I know you will too! Cheers~

The ambiance was cozy and inviting, though our table was in the middle of the aisle which felt a bit cramped. Unfortunately, the service itself was inconsistent. We had to ask for bread three times. When we ordered two brownies and one coffee, we were brought one brownie and two coffees. At the end of the meal, we asked for both my meal and my son's meal to be wrapped to go. My son's plate was accidentally thrown away because other plates were stacked on top of it. When I asked about it, the server explained what happened but did not offer to remake it, remove it from the bill, or apologize, which was disappointing. That said, it was a busy Friday during Restaurant Week, so I would consider coming back and hope the service is smoother next time. While writing this review, I actually received a text from the restaurant letting me know we left our son's plate behind, which was thoughtful and appreciated. If Yelp allowed half stars, I would give 3.5.

Coming from a big city like Las Vegas, this little wine store is what you hope to find when you come to New England. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of flashy stores and wine bars with enomatic wine systems and tasting credit cards, but it's nice to walk into a shop that looks like someone's HOUSE from the outside. Space is a little cramped but the shelves are filled with gems priced under $20. Yes, there's certainly pricier bottles but I wasn't in the market for that this day. The interior is invitingly merchandised and you'll find a fair selection of cheeses for a small place like this. Instead of the expected one bottle I walked in to purchase, I bought four. I had a chance to meet the proprietors and they were gracious and helpful and so was their staff. They have wine tasting classes and free wine tastings on Fridays from 5:30 to 7:30. My friend knows much more about wine than I do, so he was the decision maker for our wine choices and we ordered a 1/2 bottle of red which we both found to be very delicious. We opted for the meat charcuterie, and it was beautifully presented with enough for the two of us to share. I can browse a liquor store & pick out a bottle that exactly fits my preferences, my mood, & my budget. I can bring it home & uncork the wine, checking the cork for freshness. I can pull out my special glassware & pour myself a glass of wine & enjoy it on my own couch. So why go out to a wine bar, if not for the wine? For me, it's for the ambience & the experience. Both of those things at Providence Wine Bar were lacking. The lights were too bright (overhead & fluorescent) & the music was too loud (& just bad). The employees seemed both bored & nervous, with not much to do to occupy themselves. I was one of the only people in the bar, so I felt like I was under scrutiny - I'm certain this wasn't intentional but it was unfortunately how it came across. I brought a book but couldn't focus because of the lights & the music. I even caught myself with my fingers in my ears, trying to muffle the sounds of 2010s hyper pop. I have nothing against 2010s hyperpop, it's just that there's a time & place for everything, & maybe that isn't at a wine bar at 8 PM on a Wednesday. I just wanted to be done with my glass of wine so that I could leave. All of that being said, I wish them the best. It seems like they need a good manager's touch.
