I haven't been to a Cheesecake Factory in a very long time. For a chain restaurant it does impress as they say that their food is scratch made. Also, the menu is so extensive and there is literally something for everyone. Whether you're looking for a snack, a full on meal or just cheesecake this is your place. I was happy with the service as our server was friendly and attentive. My drink order came immediately and I was given refills without even asking. The appetizers that I ordered came out hot and were all tasty. I had the roadside sliders, the avocado egg rolls, fried macaroni and cheese, ahi poke nachos and spinach and cheese dip. I especially liked their avocado egg rolls and I could eat them all day long! I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience here as I was pleasantly surprised by the good service, pleasant dining space and delicious appetizers. Today I visited the Cheesecake Factory at Colonie Center for lunch, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. When I approached the host stand, the hostess was on her phone and appeared distracted. Love the tremendous amounts of food options this place has. I always go back to my tried and true favorite the Jamaican Black pepper shrimp with chicken. I love this plate with the hint of spice and pineapples. For desert I got the celebration cheesecake, which has layers vanilla confetti cake, strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla mousse, cream cheese frosting, and tons of sprinkles. One of my favorites. I was in town visiting with family and had really been in the mood for some Cheesecake Factory, as we don't have one locally where I live. So I made a reservation. and we stopped in on a Saturday night. I gathered with some friends and family for a nice dinner. The drinks were really delicious and flavorful. Unfortunately, the appetizers just did not work out for me. I don't think anyone was really happy with their meal. Alot of the food was cold, as if it had been sitting while some of the other food was very hot. My spinach dip was very bland and again it was very cold, there was just nothing special about any of the food. The best thing was my cheesecake and my drink. I'm not sure if it was because they were busy and maybe there was just a lot going on in the kitchen, but it was just not the greatest food experience for me. I went for the Reese's Peanut Butter Chocolate Cake Cheesecake. This is supposed to have Reese's Peanut Butter cups mixed in with the cheesecake so tell me why there were ACTUAL PEANUTS instead????? I posted a picture of the description and NO WHERE does it say it's supposed to have actual peanuts in it. And I posted a picture of one of the peanuts for proof. We should have walked out the door last night when our wait was 20 minutes longer than what the hostess stand told us! My daughter ordered pasta with butter topped with chicken. My wife ordered Thai stir fry noodles and I ordered Bang Bang chicken and shrimp. It was wicked busy so our food took about 30 minutes but when it did arrive my food was barely Luke warm with a pile of rice and a thin layer of chicken and shrimp with sauce, my daughters dish did not have any chicken, and my wife's dish was missing the cilantro and peanuts. I told the server about the chicken and he was apologetic and said it would be 2 minutes but we did not get it for another 20 minutes and my daughter had already finished her meal. We did not tell the server about my fish or my wife's as it was just too busy and we didn't want wait for new food. The night was very underwhelming, unfortunately the quality of Cheesecake Factory meals has declined I bet the years. Can't go wrong with a trip to the Cheesecake Factory. The service at Colonie Center has always been great. Everyone I have gotten is kind and attentative. I tried the bee sting flatbread a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised. The pizza packs a wonderful punch of flavors and a hearty serving of toppings. Recently tried the french onion burger, BBQ burger, and crab bites and found them to be okay. The BBQ burger was probably my favorite out of the three but nothing too special. The crab bites didn't taste as fresh as I would have hoped. As you can tell from the photos, I am very fond of caesar salad. The salad from the Cheesecake has the perfect amount of dressing and croutons in my opinion. A bit of an onion-y taste but scrumptious. The coconut cream cheesecake was also delicious! Love the crust used for that. Parking is relatively easy to find, colonie center can get packed sometimes though. Came here while I was staying in the hotel near by for work and it was just what I needed. You get what you get at Cheesecake Factory and it stays consistent. I always get the mac n cheese burger and a slice to go. Delicious! My only complaint is that I didn't get any brown bread, truly tragic, not sure if they ran out or what. I ordered fish and chips and avocado egg rolls for appetizer. I had only taken a few bites from eat and then asked for a to go container. We were a party of 3 the other 2 folks seem to enjoy their meal ate what they wanted and also requested containers to take home the leftovers. The bill came to $176.00 and we also left a decent tip. What a difference a year makes! Seven people, seven hot entrees delivered at the same time. Every bit was eaten or taken home. As my wife says, "you don't come to the cheese cake factory for the food..." The reality is I normally love the food, but I made the mistake of getting a sandwich to try something new... oops. I had the chicken salad sandwich. Not good! The most annoying part is the ingredients do not match the menu. If you're going to list what's in it, don't add extra crap. My wife had the chicken Parm sandwich and loved it! I had a bite and it was very, very good! Fries, Waaaaaay too salty! The service was a 6 out of 10, good enough. The atmosphere was great as always. Who knew that Cheesecake Factory is where it's at? We came solely for happy hour before going to a movie in the mall. We got there before 4 and everyone was really nice about letting us kill the 10 minutes before happy hour actually started. We had multiple staff wait on us (changeover) and everyone was fantastic. So friendly and regularly checking up on us. It was the best bang for our bucks. Some dishes were better than others, but we had the best time! Some faves: beet and avocado salad, chicken taquitos and crab wontons. Add that with $4 bottled beers and it felt like we hardly spent that much! read more

The real issue with this place is really consistency issues and general quality control. Those issues can generally be fixed with a new GM. The food is really good when they are on point. We had a really great lunch here! We started with the taquitos that were excellent with a wonderful tomatillo sauce. Really tangy. For lunch I got Renee's special with the Mexican tortilla soup and Caesar salad and half an almond chicken salad sandwich. The soup was really good with nice chunks of tomato and corn and crisp tortilla floating throughout. The chicken salad was on a nice toasted buttered bread with lettuce and tomato, really fresh, cold and delicious. The Caesar salad was also excellent with nice shavings of Parmesan. We also got the roadside sliders with french fries and the Godiva chocolate cheesecake for dessert. The sliders were really tender on fresh potato buns, just perfect. I got spaghetti and meatballs. For dessert, I got chocolate peanut butter cheesecake. it was amazing!! I have been living in Upstate New York for about 13 years and may have eaten at the Cheescake Factory in Colonie (Albany) once or twice, a long time ago. When friends suggested we dine there before seeing the new Tom Petty film at the Regal, my husband and I were all in. Truthfully, I frequent PF Chang's next door to the Cheesecake Factory because I love their Lettuce Wraps ... and I am not a fan of loud, cavernous restaurants with big crowds which our evening's dining choice was known for. Well, what a delightful surprise! OK, it's huge and reminded me of the Oyster Bar in NYC (a favorite haunt albeit loud place), but that's where my skepticism ended. To start, the menu reads like a NJ diner! So many wonderfully attractive options that it took the better part of 15 minutes to go through everything and make a decision. Ahhh but they had one of my favorites ... My husband and I shared their Nachos which were served with homemade (yeah!) guacamole, chips and salsa. The chips were warm. Brownie points here. I ordered their Cuban Panini and can say without reservation that it was the best one I've had north of Miami. And I love Cuban sandwiches - huge fan here! I mean, I would go back to the Cheesecake Factory just to have a Cuban when I am hankering for one. It was that good. And massive in size which, for me, I get three meals out of it. The accompanying Caesar Salad's romain was fresh and crisp, and the dressing (on the side), delicious. My husband enjoyed the Thai Chicken. One of my friends had the Mexican salad. It was massive. She'd had it there before. Her husband ate every last morsel of his Fettuccini Alfredo. The price of their food is reasonable, IMHO. Of course, they get you with their famous desserts. My husband and I returned to the Cheesecake Factory after the film and devoured a single, humongous slice of Caramel Pecan Chocolate Cheesecake ($10) along with two cappuccinos. Service was adequate. The place was busy and the wait staff hustled. I should note that I booked our 5:15 p.m. dinner reservation on Yelp (it was a first as I generally use OpenTable or call direct). The hostess could not find our reservation when we arrived. Luckily, it was not a problem. But I probably won't use Yelp's online reservations again.
