Haven't been to TCF for a long time so decided to give it a try, would not come back again. This review focuses on food quality: 1. The brown bread was terrible even though it was freshly made, no bread smell or taste. The white bread was basically fake sourdough. 2. The Louisiana chicken pasta sauce literally tasted like peppered water, the chef apparently said it tasted just how it should be just missing a little salt. 3. Pasta Da Vinci was edible, still under-seasoned. 4. This a 5/5 for me. Service was great. Food was great. They even had new options on the menu so I tried the truffle honey chicken which came which mashed potatoes and asparagus. The chicken was seasoned and fried to perfection. The mashed potatoes were real potatoes not boxed. I ordered a ginger ale which this is where they won me over the restaurant only has fever tree which I never heard of but it's the best brand of ginger ale I've ever had. I picked up an order of Chicken Madeira with no cheese and Bang Bang Chicken & Shrimp togo this past Monday night to share. These are my 2 favorite entrees here and remember the burger being very good years ago as well as that amazing angel hair garlic mushroom pasta that was discontinued in 2001. Memories. These two entrees were very delicious and consistent. I actually would say the BB Chicken n Shrimp is my # 1 possibly. The sweet, herby, nutty and blended aromas in the gravy make it really flavorful and exciting as well as the protein and veggies in it. The touch of poultry vs shellfish really pair well for this dish. The chicken cutlet in the other order was very well made and so tender with a French onion, gingery, marsala vibe to it. The asparagus was fully cooked and tender with some bite. Mushrooms are always great, especially in large amounts. The mashed potatoes could've used a bit more seasoning or garlic, but the potatoes used, creaminess texture and the skins used for their mash made it a solid B for me. Service was welcoming and helpful. The S'mores Cheesecake, Pineapple UD Cheesecake, Mango Lime Cheesecake, Chocolate Tower Truffle Cake, Linda's Fudge Cake and Carrot Cake are very good desserts from this chain. Haven't been here in a really long time and loved it!! We sat outside which it was actually not too hot! There were ceiling fans and a nice breeze. The ambiance outside on the patio was also really cool, made me feel like I was somewhere else (not in Houston). It was covered. I wanted pasta but we remembered that one of the Cajun type pastas was somewhat disappointing last time so we were nervous to try again. We just got apps and they were great. Bread is always good. The baked Brie was ok. The mac and cheese balls were so good - the sauce was fantastic- I would love a pasta with that sauce on it. The meatball sliders and shrimp were great loved the sauce the shrimp came with. Cheesecake was as expected - awesome. Service was good- super friendly and attentive. Busy Friday, a group of 16 or so. Sat us down very quickly. Our server, Tania, was very attentive and patient with our group. She kept coming back and checking on us at the beginning, middle and end. She didn't waste time asking if we were in one ticket, she efficiently moved along. Those that helped her were very good. A burger took a while to get to us, but she made sure to be on top of it. I order the 4 cheese penne with Alfredo sauce. It can right on time. I expected a creamy four cheese sauce with the emphasis on creamy, but it was thick almost clumpy. It was very salty, but I finished it. I'm sure these dishes can be tricky to make, and I didn't realize the last time I had a four cheese pasta elsewhere, it was so delicate with the sauce, not too thin and runny and not to thick and clumpy. Usually I have to salt my plate, this was well past that. Service, very good. Food prep needs to be practiced to find a consistency that leaves room for to enjoy. read more

Definitely go less these days as it's not the healthiest cuisine, but gosh sometimes you just want to indulge. My favorite dish has always been the Bistro shrimp pasta. Imagine my extreme disappointment when I found out they no longer serve this dish. I imagine it's because it was one of the highest calorie dishes with all that yummy butter. To be honest, I'm still mourning the loss of the grilled portobello burger when that was removed from the menu years ago. Why are you doing this to me, Cheesecake Factory?? I almost walked out the door but I was pretty hungry, so we stuck it out. Ended up just eating off the small plates and apps menu, which was more than enough for two people. Calamari still solid 4/5 - can't really go wrong with this one. Tried the warm crab and artichoke dip (5/5) and was pleasantly surprised. Again not the healthiest item on the menu but really enjoyed it. Also got the house made meatballs (5/5) and would order again. Any one of these could be a meal in itself. 3 was definitely indulgent but it left me lunch for a few days. Didn't get cheesecake this time but having had it multiple times... also pretty good. This is from someone who doesn't usually like cheesecake. The lemon raspberry is my go-to. But my indulge pick is the black-out cake... Here's why: they have Valet Parking during the busiest shopping days at the mall; they have the Rotunda for the best dining experience; they have the best consistent waiters & waitresses, who's served us for at least 5 years with consistent service experience. We have been there many times but today the Avocado EggRolles had some rolls burnt out and avocado was sour. We noted the sour avocado after the kids eating it that the taste was strange. A kid does not know when a food is in bad condition so we tasted and noted the avocado was in not good condition, it was sour, but the Manager said that it did not matter and that they were to charge it in our check. I also never got the Dr Pepper I ordered. When I finally asked about my meal, the server acted confused and just offered me cheesecake. No real apology. After traveling from San Antonio and not eating all day, I left hungry, upset, and totally disappointed. This was supposed to be a special night, and it was ruined. I am giving this location only two stars - and I'm feeling generous here - because of the service at front of house. I had a party of six people for a birthday celebration and we had a reservation for 1:30 PM. We arrived on time, but were told we would have to wait another 30 minutes or more because "our table" was still occupied by other people who "would not leave". During this entire time, multiple other groups of people - including parties of 5 (which would be getting the same size table as us) - who did NOT have reservations were seated before we were. The hostess was asked several times about this, and she had reasons that did not make a whole lot of sense, since we had a reservation and they did not. Why have reservations if you're not going to honor them? This gets worse. Once we were finally seated, the manager came over to ask how everything was, and the whole situation was explained to him. He said he would talk to the hostess to find out what had happened. That was the last we saw of him. No further explanation or apology. I suspect he was overwhelmed by the apparent disorder there - perhaps we were not the only ones not being served properly. I have serious doubts I'd revisit this location anytime soon, as there are quite a few other restaurants nearby where I know I'd get better service. read more

I had steak, chicken, and mashed potatoes. I didn't want to say anything because they can't put it on the grill again and warm it up. My husband had the gumbo which was hotter than my food. We ordered dessert, a banana cheesecake and the Adam peanut butter one. I noticed mine didn't have fresh bananas and I asked the server about it because that should be an easy fix. Well, the waitress gave me attitude, she said, "it was late and I was lucky I got whipped cream." I didn't know service depends on the time of day/night. I guess my tip should also depend on time. She didn't even say anything before she served the cheesecake to me about not giving me what I ordered. On the menu it states there are fresh bananas. What if you ordered the steak Diana and there was no beef because it's late, is that ok? We ordered the fried calamari and Texas egg-rolls, which after a few minutes our server came back and said they no longer had Texas egg rolls so I ordered the Thai chicken lettuce wraps. We literally waited for our food for about 20 minutes just for two appetizers. While we were waiting, I did notice that the silverware placed on the tables were dirty. There were spots on them, so I did not use it at all. Finally when our food came out, I was a little shocked that we had to wait 20 minutes. The link for checking in to pick up from curbside is either broken or the staff did not want to drop off the order at the curb. I checked in and waited for nearly 30 mins before deciding to go inside. Once inside, I asked the staff if it was showing on their end that I'd checked in a while back. The staff looked at their system and said nobody was checked in. Staff just then grabbed the cheesecake sitting on the counter and handed it over to me. As soon as I got home, which took me less than 5 mins, I opened the cheesecake, and it was falling apart when I tried to take a bite out of it, and it was no longer cold (it was room temp)!
