The fact that you have to pay $7 for a parking spot is ludicrous in its self but considering how our experience went i would of been furious had i paid to just get in, first off service was terrible no utensils or water until after we had received our food, appetisers came after our main courses, the food was ok like iv had better chicken for less then half the price. I ordered a old fashion which if you know drinks its one of the strongest hence the almost $20 price tag but when i got it there was no alcohol in it at all i didn't even ask for it to be remade i said can you just put the bourbon in it, i could see the manager in the background acting as if this was a ridiculous request, 15mins later my SAME drink arrives back ice melted but with the bourbon i asked for hooray a miracle my alcoholic drink had alcohol in it. Vibes were off in there not partially the most friendliest of restaurants. I wouldn't go back! read more

Food is good. But they nickel and dime you with the sauces. This location is nicer than the first one.

I came with some friends and we attempted to get on the waitlist, however, because they weren't busy at the time the hostess refused to put us on the list and told my friend that once our whole party showed up we could just go up and let her know. As our whole party was showing up more people kept showing up too and once we attempted to go inside and let the hostess know we were all here, she said that now the wait time was 30-45 min wait and we needed to be added to the waitlist. Had the hostess initially told us that, we probably wouldn't have wasted 30 min waiting for nothing. There should be more transparency with the wait time and communication with the guests read more

First let me say I LOVE the chicken Koop located in Whittier, so I decided to try this new spot they opened up. I'll definitely not be coming back, first of all they charge 7$ for valet parking in a parking lot that is not even remotely full, and to park it 5 feet away from you, your serving chicken n waffles NOT prime rib steaks. Second we came here for happy hour which the website clearly says 4-6pm only for the menu at the restaurant to have it CROSSED OUT and changed from 10-12 midnight... FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. THEN we waited nearly 25 minutes for our server to finally come and service, granted she was busy with a BIG party, there were other waiters just standing around doing NOTHING. Common sense would have been to help your fellow worker and attend to customers WAITING. Anyway, we got up and left and went to have Sushi. No this isn't a fake review. THIS happened. And again I LOVE CHICKEN KOOP, just the one in Whittier. read more

i have been in love with chicken koop for many years. im loyal to the Whittier location. I heard about their new downey location so i decided to go there and check it out. As i arrived i immediately noticed there is no self parking but valet only which means you have to pay for parking or you got to park your car in the street where its extremely tricky to park. This immediately got me second guessing coming here and believe me its not about the money. I have visited all chicken koop locations and i have never ever paid for parking so why now?? There was an entire empty parking lot in the back but charging for it? im good i drove to the whittier location where i parked in the huge parking lot for the low price of $0.00. They closed the Alhambra and montebello locations but im calling downey next to close its doors. read more

The new place looks great from the light bulbs hanging to the privacy in the restrooms it's a must all around. The food is above and beyond I mean yes it's chicken but there is a way to make it and chicken koop definitely killed it. The food was good but the valet shouldn't be mandatory especially if it's not busy there was plenty of parking.
