On their website, they had mentioned that it takes 2-3 business days to ship. Okay no biggie, I'm patient. One week went by, I had heard nothing. It hadn't been shipped still, and I had no updates. This was about 6 business days after my purchase. I emailed them from their website, and asked if they could let me know when it would get here. I had no response. Another week went by. After about 12 business days, I called the store. I asked them about my order and the lady on the phone just said to me, "Call back on Monday." and that was it. So I sent in another email. No response to that one as well, but I gave it time. When I got to about 19 business days with still no shipment sent out, no updates whatsoever, and no response to my emails, I looked for the Wee Mondine promotional emails I had been getting and messaged that email instead. It took 11 days to get a response. They said they would look into it. a few more business days passed and I decided to call the store again to ask if they had checked on it. A different person answered and said they weren't sure if they had it in stock but they would ask their boss. Finally felt like I was getting somewhere! Then a little while later I received an email saying that they never had that outfit to begin with. Then they offered to give me a different outfit or a refund. I asked for a refund-which did go through so I give them that. But ultimately this was the WORST customer service I have ever experienced and I intend to do my research into stores like this from now on.

Or they OVER buy on a trend from the 2000's....There's no variety. There's nothing that makes this place worth a visit. Most of the staff is just as uninspiring. They offer a halfhearted greeting when you walk in, but beyond that, they're completely disengaged--mostly standing around with their arms crossed, looking like they'd rather be anywhere else. Which makes sense because they barely make minimum wage, which is concerning considering how much the owner walks away with year after year. I probably wouldn't be inspired to help customers either. It's pretty obvious that the owner of this store couldn't care less about their employees--or their customers, for that matter. Unless you're looking for outdated clothes and indifferent service, I'd recommend shopping elsewhere. Go shop at the family owned business Richard's in Greenwich much better selection, happy employees and OWNERS!

Every year Santa comes and kids line up from across the country to sit on his lap and tell them what they want. In Darien, that could be a new Canada goose jacket (available at DSS) or a new pair of Nordic skis (available at DSS). Maybe even a new Range Rover (not available but DSS can order it). And for the adults who brave the intense December line to catch a glimpse of the big guy, they setup a makeshift bar (no charge of course) with Bloody Mary's, Mimosas, Beer, Wine, all the fixings. Back to Santa, did I mention this guy is the real deal? He claims that he runs a bird seed shop in the off season, lol. Yea Kringle, I ain't buying it. I have been donating clothing and jewelry to the shop for more than 25 years. The DCA has always…read morebeen an outstanding Darien Organization because they donate to many groups and provide Scholarships to local students. Lately however there are new people who are hurting the time-honored reputation of the shop. On my last visit, I was dropping off fairly expensive clothing. A man likely in his seventies, told me in no uncertain terms that I could only bring 3 bags at one time ! He really did not seem to have any idea of the value of the items and was very rude and almost hostile! He never called any of the regular staff to evaluate the articles and I left feeling put-out and sad to say the least. In the future I will donate to The New Canaan Thrift Shop, which has a much friendlier staff, even though I live in Darien.
