Great restaurant, glad we decided to come here. We ate at a lot of restaurants on this vacation, this was the best this week.

Very busy lunch hour. Food was really good, especially the hour salad and the ranch dressing. It took a while to get bread. Had to ask three times for it. Felt like our server may have been hard of hearing, otherwise she was very nice. read more

Just visiting the area and randomly picked The Chop House to get a bite to eat. Probably one of the best ribeyes I have had! Everything was delicious. The spinach queso & chips appetizer brought out very quickly. The steaks were cooked and seasoned perfectly along with a large loaded baked potato and fresh salad. I accidentally placed an order here when I meant to place one at Franklin Chop House. I called to pay for my meal after I realized my mistake (since it was my mistake) and spoke with the manager. She was SO rude and demanded that it was my mistake and that I had to pay for my meal. That was the whole point of me calling??? Ordered the prime rib and filet medallions. Both are delicious! Service was on point and the bread is to die for!

Food is very good, however menu was a little small and prices are a little bit too steep, otherwise I have not experienced any issues at this location, but I definitely will eating at this restaurant again , it is now one of my favorites. read more

Well, we had frequented this establishment several times and can always count on getting great service. I will have to admit this particular afternoon started out a little shaky. First, we were met with a flippant hostess that stated there was a 20-minute wait. As my eyes briefly scanned the front of the restaurant, I was a little baffled as to why. There were several tables in the bar area. But the hostess smugly stated that the bar area is a part of the wait. Luckily, we only had to wait no more than 10-15 minutes. I wanted to be comfy, so when the hostess walked us to a table with chairs; I politely asked if we could get a booth. She seemed a little miffed by my request and proceeded to "parade us around" the entire left side of the dining area, zig zagging in and out between seated patrons to a booth. I would have preferred she had been like, "Give me one moment please, and I'll find you a booth" instead of aimlessly leading us around. My side of the booth had crumbs in it and she had to wipe it off (I happily offered to do myself, which she declined). I will tell you, I was not impressed by Blondie nor her attitude. She lacked personality and she seemed like she yearned to be anywhere but work. So, I just was like welp...things can't always be perfect.... But then.....we got the waiter....Yes, the waiter....HE...WAS...AWESOME!! He was energetic, polite, and knowledgeable. Although, we have eaten there in the past, we felt a lil' frisky and wanted to explore some new entrees. We had several questions, which Michael was more than eager to answer; which was accompanied with a great visual description (even down to portion size). However, even after his impressive presentation; we decided, as we always do, on the Chop House double chop..lol. Hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! Michael was attentive to refilling glasses and whatever else we needed throughout dinner service. Our meal was DELICIOUS as always. The only time waiter became hesitant to answer a question was when my dinner date asked for his name again. I think he may have thought he was in trouble. We promptly reassured him not the case at all and proceeded to commend him on his superb customer service and he proceeded to provide a little glimpse of his professional background. He works at Chop House only on Sundays and he enthusiastically explained that he loved working there and helping others. I truly believe that he does. We then proceeded to express our gratitude to his manager. This post may seem like an exaggerated post to some, but great customer service is hard to find nowadays. The food was good, the service was just ok. I was alone and sat in the bar. The bar tender didn't check up on my, they didn't stay when I cut my steak to make sure it was the right temperature. Just felt alone and not really appreciated for my business. Maybe if I sat in the restaurant area it would have been different. The food as good, hence the rating. read more

Finally decided to try Chop House last week after seeing and driving by for years. Reviews were decent enough, wasn't expecting 5 stars, but could've definitely been better. We were sat in the bar area after about 10 a min wait. It took our waiter about 7 mins to finally come to our table after we sat. Although a really sweet, young girl, she was incredibly slow and inattentive, what made it worse was we can visibly see her just chatting away while we waited for refills and condiments. The food itself was ok. The best things we had was our soups - the seafood gumbo and the clam chowder, both were delicious. I ordered the prime rib medium rare with a side of creamed spinach - prime rib could've used a bit more seasoning and it was a bit chewy. My husband had the turkey burger, and it was incredibly dry, almost inedible. My son had the seafood pasta and it was ok, needed more sauce. With the combination of the slow service and mediocre food, I doubt we'll back anytime soon. read more

This was one of the worst dining experiences I have had in a while ! I ordered the ribeye med rare and they just couldn't get it right ! I don't know if the chop house changed the cut of meat but I have had better steaks at Cracker Barrel ! If I'm gonna pay 22 bucks for a steak it better be think and juicy and cooked to perfection , not like a Waffle House steak ! A hidden gem in Murfreesboro. We went for our annual new year's Eve dinner. We had reservations that were made 2 weeks earlier. Upon arrival our table was ready and had ice water waiting. Menus were on the table and our server greeted us promptly. The process was smooth and she wasn't overwhelmed by our party of 18. I started with a side salad with homemade ranch. It was delicious and fresh and even had homemade bacon bits. My main course was a filet with a shrimp scampi topping and asparagus. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium and was the best I have had. The scampi topping had a great flavor and paired well. The asparagus was also prepared well and was fresh. I will be returning soon and sharing positive comments to friends about the Chop House. read more

I visited The Chophouse on my Birthday and had dinner. It is a dimly lit restaurant with a romantic vibe. Nice and quiet atmosphere. We had the porterhouse steak and ribs. I prefer my steak well done and it was cooked perfectly, but did not have enough seasoning in my opinion. The side dishes were decent (baked potato) and my side salad was outstanding. My partner did not like the draft choices, there were not many, so he had to settle. Also we had the spinach appetizer and it was okay but I've had better. All in all if you're looking for a decent steakhouse, that tends to be a little on the upscale side, then this is your place. Give them a try, especially for a date! read more

OK..this is good food well prepared. Have always been a fan and will continue to be. Quality is there as well as service. Usually go for the thin lunch chops and salad. Great combo can be had anytime of the day. Salad is excellent and the rice noodles on top add a nice little crunch. Additionally the homemade dressings are always very good. Living in Murfreesboro and having frequented many restaurants in Nashville, I see no good reason to eat here other than sheer unwillingness to make the drive coupled with the overwhelming desire to eat an average steak at above average prices. This is our favorite neighborhood place in the 'Boro. Granted, it is a small chain restaurant. But it doesn't feel like it! The service is always good, the food is delicious and consistent, and the atmosphere is extremely relaxing (dim lighting, cozy seating, etc). I normally LOVE the Chop House but was disappointed tonight. Our waiter was not terribly friendly and, although I ordered my steak med-well, it came and was pretty much med-rare. They took it back to cook it more and brought it back and it was still quite pink. They took it back again and, even though it was now cut into several different pieces, said they would wrap it in foil and cook it more. Um, you messed it up and I'm paying $24 for this thing but, sure, keep trying with the same mutilated steak to save you money. Brought it back and it was right this time. The manager offered a free dessert. Seems like comping the steak would be the right thing to do since we had ordered quite a bit and we had no room for dessert. read more

My fiancée and I came here for date night and it was one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. Our waiters name was Chris and I've never had someone who was so consistent and attentive to our needs. Our food came quickly and was cooked perfectly. At one time, we were in the middle of a conversation and our waiter came by and we made eye contact and he gave a head nod and came back around in a couple minutes as to not interrupt our conversation! Stopped in for lunch on a whim. We were seated quickly and with a big smile. I really loved the vibe I got in this place. The decor is nice and calming and the lights are just low enough that you feel relaxed and welcome. This is how a steak house should feel. Brown sugar bacon deviled eggs seemed a bit gimmicky, and were just okay. I ordered a filet with steamed broccoli, one of my guests ordered a sirloin, one ordered the shrimp bisque and a salad, and one ordered the half rack of ribs. My filet was severely undercooked. When I cut into my filet the server looked at it from across the table (I was sitting furthest from her) and said "Oh, no. I'm so sorry let me take that back." My first guest's sirloin was also severely undercooked. My other guest was very happy with his ribs. And the guest who ordered the shrimp bisque was very happy with it. When the manager came back to the table with our steaks in hand and placed them in front of us he asked if they were to our liking to which my guest replied positively and I replied very hesitantly "Well... I guess 'rare' is better than the raw steak I was given before..." He instantly said "Ok, great!" and walked away. That was not the response I was hoping for. The server walked up to the table moments later, took one look at me, and one look at the steak and instantly apologized. "I'll take it back again." I insisted that she not do so, since I was starving. "I just don't want to wait to eat any longer." She walked away and came back minutes later informing me that the steak would not be on the bill. Between my 3 guests, one ordered a cup of soup and a salad, the other 2 ordered off of the 10 dollar menu. I had the only plate at the table that was ordered from the dinner menu and it was more than twice expensive than any of the other guests. The server got it removed from the bill. The manager? A jackass who could care less about my satisfaction. So, even with severely undercooked steaks and a manager that needs to do the world a favor and find a new career path, this place still gets 3 stars. The server was awesome and the prices on the lunch menu and 10-12 dollar menu are outstanding. Oh, and I guess it is worth mentioning that the food we did eat was actually really great tasting, too. Update: I decided to give these guys one more try. I ordered the lobster bisque and a "sweet corn tamale cakes" appetizer, and snacked off of everyone else's plate. They brought bread to the table that is a super heavy and seems to be made in house. I like that they bake their own bread, but I did not like the taste. I normally like fresh baked wheat bread, but something about it seemed off. It seemed to have a heavy wheat flavor but nothing else. Just that one note. The "sweet corn tamale cakes" did not taste like tamale at all. In fact, everyone at the table with me agreed that we felt betrayed by the name/description. This is basically just cornbread topped with southwestern ingredients. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't a tamale... at all. My lobster bisque arrived and, unfortunately for me, they use a heavy filler in this bisque. The filler? It was the bread that was brought to the table earlier. They had clearly, without a doubt, thrown the last day's bread into a blender then used it in their soup. It completely overpowered any other flavors in the dish. In a word: Horrible. read more

I ate here for the first time on Sunday. It was terrible. Absolutely terrible. I will never go eat here again. I got the chicken teriyaki and the chicken was very dry. It was bad. Like really bad. The rice underneath has crap all in it, like peppers. It didn't list on the menu that it would have red and green peppers. It just said rice. It was pretty gross. Then my broccoli was ok, except for the fact it was old because I could see brown spots on it from where it was going bad. We also got the mozzarella cheese wedges and it tasted like something out of a box from the frozen section at the grocery store. It wasn't good at all. I was very upset with this because of how expensive this restaurant is. I couldn't believe we paid that amount for food that was disgusting. Freaking Shoney's or Deny's is way better than this place. I eat at The Chop House often. I like the bar and the French-fries. The steaks are ok, but the other food is mediocre at best and salads are horrible. They cannot make a decent salad. I had the Santa Fe Chicken Salad (large). I asked for a large because they put salads on a small plate-bowl like thing with no room to cut the lettuce or move the food around and the salad falls off onto the table. But large salads should not be enough food for 3 days of leftovers. On my salad, the tomatoes were frozen and mushy, the chicken was cold, dry and tough. I asked for the dressing on the side and it came in two ramekins overflowing with thick globbly looking stuff. It looked like the dish was thrown together by a 3rd grader. The sheer amount of salad was ridiculous. The more there is doesn't mean it's better. Same problem with the big plate--overflowing with no room and I had salad all over the table. If you offer the dish on the menu, make the effort to make it good. Otherwise, why waste the time and money? read more
