Love the Pegasus salad ( not currently on the menu anymore), but if you ask for it... they will make it for you. Add chickpea as your protein and get the "goddess" dressing and you will be in heaven. I usually get this salad, and I am full. Used to be a regular customer here but the last year they have been making the portions inside the wraps smaller and smaller. It's gotten to the point where I just gave up in frustration. I did the right thing and wrote to corporate .... No reply. I sent an email to the franchise website .... No reply - the silence is deafening. Eating out without getting fat can be tough. To keep your pants from getting too tight, you need to mix in a salad once a while. For a tasty salad that isn't rabbit food, check out the Chopped Leaf. As someone who could happily eat a cheeseburger everyday of his life, I was skeptical of a place that specializes in salads. The Chopped Leaf offers a nice variety of fresh salads that are straight forward, fresh, and full of flavor. These are not some vegan hipster raw food hoity toity concoctions full of lettuces that look and taste like weeds. I prefer the Bangkok salad, the sesame dressing with a hint of hot and spicy is excellent. It even has chicken and noodles. Try it! The sandwiches and wraps are good, but they are a bit pricey for what you get. Stick with the salads. If you are going to be eating healthy, go for the maximum helping of healthy. Having to pay for the "chopped" water, a citrus and fruit infused water that they have on tap, seems like a bit of a cash grab. Ordering an entree should include water in my humble opinion. Most places give you water with lemon for free. You can send a text and get a "free" water to lessen the hit on your wallet. This is going to come off as chauvinistic, but the restaurant comes across as a place targeted for women. Lots of salads, big sign about gluten free, no fries, no beer, no desserts, no tvs with sports. Pretty obvious that the target demographic is not the typical male. I even heard someone say that "my husband would never come here" when having a lunch with my wife. My advice to guys would be to slyly suggest going here as a way to win some brownie points, just don't be too overt about it or else your wife or girlfriend will think that you think they are fat and need to eat a salad. You don't want that. If you're better half suggests the chopped leaf it is the safest way to try it. Joking aside, the chopped leaf is great option for someone with dietary restrictions. They have many carb free and gluten free options. So, when your buttons are bursting, or you want to "eat healthy", try a Chopped Leaf salad. Here's the thing: it's pretty good but expensive. Pretty fresh, good food with well constructed recipes. My favorite is the whole bowls. Pretty good healthy meals. One word of warning: they have terrible hours very inconsistent with other "fast food" places. Came on a Sunday at 5pm and they were closed. Overall I'd say above average but not amazing. It's one of those places you have to visit once to try out. PS I'm gluten free and found it relatively easy to customize a meal without gluten. read more

My husbands caesar salad was lacking taste...perhaps they had skimped on cheese and dressing..only one crouton too ! My salad which was supposed to be like a greek salad..also had too little dressing and 2 tiny crumbles of feta cheese, and hardly anything in it other than romaine. I'd give chopped leaf 2 stars for eat-in, and 4 for take-away. The food is good, fresh, and yummy, with decent options. The staff are young but friendly and efficient. The problem is with the space. I just don't want to walk into it. The interior suffers from an extremely high ceiling which makes it feel like a warehouse, and the franchise-ish advertising everywhere doesn't help. This is one step down from a Taco Del Mar interior. Then the music when I've gone (twice) has been top 40 dance hits, which don't exactly make for a relaxing atmosphere. read more

I tried their grilled prawns on a salad - yum. My friend had a rice bowl and liked it. Great place for gluten-free food. I would like them to have a kid's menu though. My picky younger daughter would not like anything there. Many kids would likely find something they liked though, since you can custom-make the salads, wraps and rice bowls. One of the nicest locations I've been to and quite spacious too. They have booth seating along the walls, on the right. Ordered their chicken salad bowls to go, much better quality than a Subway. Quality place! Truly. Post work out meals are made so much better...when they're made for you..by these guys! I personally like to "design" my own salad/wrap but one of my favourites off their chef designed salads has to be The Signature. Perfect combination of tastes! Their smoked tofu is amazing - must try! Their ingredients are always fresh. They have a thing called Chopped Water, which is basically just infused water. So buy one of their water bottles and get unlimited refills on any visit thereafter. The staff at this location are so friendly. Only had a problem here once when they forgot to add dressing to my friend's Whole Bowl 2 but they were very apologetic and made sure to rectify the complaint. Great place for a meal on the go, and even for a sit-down catch up time with a friend. Will definitely be back at this location again. read more

I had a horrendous experience here yesterday. I've just sent an email to head office about this: I was in the Langley location yesterday with my mom. We ordered a number 2 bowl and number 3 bowl. When they were ready it turned out to be a number 1 bowl and a number 2 bowl. I told the woman making the food that I actually wanted a number 3, not a number 1. She said okay, so I went to go back to sit down. Your manager than approached my mom and I at our table, and proceeded to tell me that I was wrong and that I ordered a #1 and #2. She said that she read my order back to me and that I clearly said #1 and #2, and that now the restaurant is out the cost of the food. When I told her I don't remember saying #1 and #2, that I wanted #3 not #1, she said, "Well thats why I read your order back to you and you agreed". She kept arguing with me, for more than 5 minutes in front of other customers, about how I was wrong and that's why she read the order back to me. I don't know what she expected or wanted to come out of approaching me like that. So I asked her, "What do you want? Do you want me to just admit to you that I ordered the wrong thing? Even if I did, I'm the customer and you really shouldn't be arguing with me and making a scene in front of the rest of your patrons." FINALLY after more than 5 minutes of berating me in front of the rest of your customers, I asked her if she was going to make the bowl I wanted or not. I even said the words, "I don't know what you want. So are you telling me I HAVE to eat this bowl, even though this isn't the one I wanted? Because mistakes never happen and the restaurant is not prepared to eat the costs of a miscommunicated order? Please don't talk to me about how now the restaurant is out money for the cost of the first bowl of food. These are called "overhead costs" and every restaurant carries the risk of wasting money and food. This is just the nature of the restaurant business. It's not up to the manager to then take the factor of these costs and try to make the customer pay for them." After I said that she stormed away to start making the correct bowl I wanted. Another customer then approached me and told me I'm right, that the customer is always right, and even if it was a miscommunication, the manager was out of line. At this point, I lost my appetite and asked for a refund. Your manager clearly lost her temper, and tried to call the owner of this location. She asked the owner if they had time to speak with a customer, they said no, so she then gave me a refund. I don't know where you learned to train your employees, but I also have restaurant experience. In the normal restaurant industry, the customer is always right, and under no circumstances is it appropriate to go approach a customer to tell them that they're wrong, you're right, and to refuse to rectify the situation until they admit they're wrong. Your manager was aggressive with me, and extremely rude in her attitude. The situation caused a scene, with another customer approaching me to tell me he disagrees with the manager and that I should stand my ground. Another customer, at the end, even asked me what happened and why the manager was making a scene. I hope it was worth it to your manager to try to berate me in front of your other patrons, to only lose out the cost of THREE bowls of food in the end, and to make $0 profit from me. I don't need to pay $25 to be aggressively approached in a restaurant like that, by the management no less. If the situation had played out how your manager wanted it to, I would've ended up eating a bowl of food I didn't even want, and I would've been embarrassed in front of all your other customers. Is this how you treat your patrons? It's unfortunate that this situation has happened, as I used to frequent your location a lot since I go to school in the area. I'll be letting everyone in my campus know how you treated me like shit, and make sure to warn everyone not to spend their consumer money at your business. read more

Ok, so I am biased as I already loved the chopped leaf franchises I had been to in Kelowna and downtown Vancouer, so, I was glad to see it open out in Cloverdale/Surrey. That being said, I believe they are doing it justice, the service is great, the food is of high quality and just what I expect at a healthy option cafe. I do agree with Derek W regarding the space, not very inviting for eat-in. Prices are quite high, but they do use quality, fresh ingredients. Soups and sandwiches are yummy. One funny thing, I asked one of the staff members if the tomato soup had cream in it and she said yes (no wonder it tasted so good). Another staff member said, "It's like drinking a bowl of fat." The bad is they upcharge for say chicken so you meal starts at about 8.5 but quickly becomes 11.50 which is alot for lunch. Takeout salads were fresh and very good. They would have been even better if they had included the chicken and cheese, I ordered in both. Very annoying to get home with items missing. This is the reason for only 3 stars. I was the only one ordering, so, it wasn't that it was super busy in the shop. Tried phoning to speak to the manager, but as usual you only get to talk to a recording, so just left a message, which hasn't been followed up. When you need a meal that is quicker than a sit down restaurant - but not fast food - I recommend Chopped Leaf. It's pricing is relative to the food you are ordering but I often check group on because they usually have an offer on there! I really wanted to like this place but the first time I ordered the spring roll made out of rice paper and it was terrible. The rice paper smelled bad and there were barely any vegetables in it. Today I thought, one more time. I ordered the BBQ chicken quesadilla. First off it was $10, which is more expensive than white spot, 2nd it probably took longer to make than white spot would have and third off it fell apart completely when I tried to eat it. I went to this location and ordered a bowl number 1 and 3 and i was given a bowl 1 and 2 and so i had to take 15 minutes out of my time to drive back and get it corrected and they did switch it for the correct bowl but the supervisor did nothing to correct there mistake and was not very apologetic. I've worked in similar jobs in the past and was extremely disappointed with the way the supervisor handled the situation and ill be avoiding this location in the future. read more

Honestly chopped leaf staff, if you'd serve it too a customer you'd better eat it yourself. The lettuce was SO gross, very wilted and browned, they didn't add that much sauce at all and they threw it together very quick. Chicken was freezing cold and tasted really bad.
