Absolutely delicious dinner!…read more We made reservations online about 2 months ago. 5:15 dinner worked well for us since we had a show at 7. We checked in on the lady with the tablet on the right side of the entrance. The left side is for walk ins. Super long line even at 5pm. But they were handing out small glasses of chai and something else. Anyway, the reservation line is short and they sat us right away. We wished we could have sat at the patio - it's covered. We didn't see that until we were already drinking. Well, next time! The ambiance - beautiful spot with lots and lots of tables. Every single one of them was taken. Tons of staff! They take good care of you here. Patrons vary, from dates to family dinners - the whole gamet! Come one, come all! The drinks came out right away. Dishoom IPA and chai. Beer came with a frosted glass. The chai was delicious! The food was amazing! Goan monkfish curry Ruby chicken Saffron cauliflower Garlic naan Basmati rice Everything was superb! I works happily go back tomorrow night!

Dishoom chicken tikka (14.9): NOT tikka masala! We were between this and the chicken ruby but were told it's just like butter chicken and were recommended this-- the highlight, chicken flavorful and tender, and I liked the pickled sides House black daal (11.7): their signature dish-- decent, pretty heavy and filling but nothing to sing about Roomali Roti (5.5): we were going to get the garlic naan, but the waiter said that's something you can get anywhere so we got the roti which he recommended-- however, this completely lacked flavor. I've had better roti in Malaysia and in the US lol Garlic naan (5.5): we ultimately got this because we didn't like the roti, but this also the garlic flavor was not shining through Other recommended dishes: chicken berry britannia with raita, charred lamb chops, murgh malai, okra fries Tip: you have to buy the rice, naan etc separately. Also heads up there's a 12.5% service charge.

Food: extremely flavorful and delicious. The spice levels did not disappoint. I wish I could have tried everything on the menu. Cocktails: okay, would be more fun if they were more unique. Ambiance: this place was packed even when we had our reservation at 21:30. Would definitely recommend a reservation, not sure how long the wait would have been.

Dishoom pays homage to the food of Bombay, and I was thrilled that they serve such a large and extensive breakfast menu! The restaurant is huge and beautiful - with lots of art deco touches! The service was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. The restaurant just had great vibes - even the smell of the place (incense mixing with their delicious food) was great. I had their Kejriwal (two fried eggs on chilli cheese toast - "a modern favourite of the Willingdon Club in Tardeo, reputedly named for the member who kept asking for the dish, since he was not allowed eggs at home"), which was delicious. My husband had their bacon & egg naan roll with a side of masala beans, which he loved (he's even been trying to recreate the beans at home since we got back from London). With a large menu of other options and tons of beverage options (from alcoholic brunch options to chai to iced coffee), they have everything you could want for a great breakfast. We had a great breakfast at this Kensington location of Dishoom. I'd happily return to one of their other locations and have any meal - breakfast, lunch, or dinner!

Service was fantastic - there is a waiting area with complimentary chai. Chai wasn't the best but definitely appreciated that it was free. We got the mango & fennel lassi, chilli broccoli salad (half portion), okra fries, lamb samosas, Dishoom house chaat, masala prawns, cheese naan, house black daal, and Dishoom chicken tikka. Mango & fennel lassi wasn't as creamy as I'm used to and more on the sour end. Chilli broccoli salad, okra fries, lamb samosas, and Dishoom house chaat were my favorites. Masala prawns, cheese naan, house black daal, and Dishoom chicken tikka didn't stand out to me as much but still were delicious. Overall it was a fantastic meal and I understand all the hype. Would definitely recommend a visit.

The restaurant is quiet large so the line can move decently. The service is friendly, helpful and efficient. As this was our first time, we had to order the best sellers - chicken ruby curry and the black dal. Both are incredible, rich with depth of flavors. Get the rice and garlic naan to go with it. The chai at the end of the meal is superb....like a warm holiday blanket wrapping it's arms around you. SO GOOD!!!!!!!

I enjoyed the food we ordered this time more than the first. The house dahl is a standout and something I'd recommend people to order for sure. We also ordered the chicken ruby which was good too. The chicken biryani was fine but for the price point I definitely have had better experiences and don't think I'll try it again. The naans surprised me, they were also really good even on their own which really makes the difference in enjoying the whole meal. I also ordered the pina colada mocktail which was very refreshing and a good compliment to the meal. The service was friendly but as it was busy it did take time to flag the waiter down at certain points of the meal. Overall, I would go to Dishoom again and I'd like to try their street food offerings/appetizers next time.
