The woman I got on the phone immediately sounded as if I was bothering her. She wanted to direct me to the website for what they do for a "move out clean" instead of telling me. Do you do ceiling fans? Yes. How high? We don't allow our employees to stand on anything for their safety. So you don't do cabinet tops? No. How high? I don't know. As high as the woofies, (or whatever she called their cleaning wand was), go. How high? Let me find out.... 8". 8"? Yes. Did you mean 8'? No, 8". So, a 5' or so person can't clean a 7' ceiling fan? No, sir. So, here's my question - how can you possibly do a "move out" clean if you can't do even LOW hanging ceiling fans? MaidPro can do up to 2 story fans and I only had to ask once, not 4 times. The woman there answered all my questions - even when I was about to ask her to email her 49 point cleaning details to me because even I thought that a lot to ask, she read them without hesitation. The cleaners do a very good job. My major complaint is that you cannot get a regular cleaning time. They will schedule a day and after pressing I got them to call before they arrive. Sometimes they come in the morning and sometimes the afternoon. They seem to bump regular customers when they get a new house to clean. Most times I have one of the same cleaners. Due to their inability to give at least a two hour window I'm going to look for a service that does a good job and also schedules a time. read more

Not sure where the negative reviews are coming from. They're the third cleaning service we've tried and the first to actually clean well. Price for initial clean was a little high but competitive with other local companies. We'll see how they do with the every other week cleaning but right now we're happy with them. And another final EDIT: I'm done with The Cleaning Authority. Their quality has continually gone down and down. There are times when I swear it looks like all they did was run quick vacuum and sweep the floors. In addition it looks like swapping out the water when it gets dirty isn't something they do. I've gotten tired of telling Bryan that the floors look bad. I get that hardwoods can be tough, and our house is 90% hardwoods, but it's not like I swapped out my floors. EDIT: OK, now that we've been using them about a year I have to change my rating. They range anywhere from adequate/good enough, to terrible. I have had conversations with Bryan a few times about the utter inconsistency from his teams. I have to say that I really do not care if they put a hotel fold on my towels and toilet paper if I have to go through and clean the shower and mop the kitchen floor after they've cleaned. This is especially bad on a day like today, when floors were supposedly the area of focus. Regularly, though not every time, our mirrors and shower enclosures look like they've been cleaned with a dirty rag that had something waxy on it. Nothing like getting home from a long day at work and having to clean up after the cleaning service. ----- Not sure where the negative reviews are coming from. This company stole items from my house last Tuesday that were to be used on Saturday at my daughter's wedding. They were props for a photo room that have been in my home for several months, and all of the sudden they determine it is trash and are going to "throw it away" then take the items one day before Halloween? Coincidence, I think not! These items were irreplacable and ruined that part of my daughter's wedding. They get no stars from me but I had to put one in... I love the Cleaning Authority, especially my team, team 7. Coming home after work to a clean house is like a dream. I have 3 cats and 2 dogs, so the animal hair never ends, and I appreciate the extra attention they put into finding every stray tumbleweed. We're very pleased with The Cleaning Authority. We've been using them for a few years now, and we get a consistently good clean. The initial walkthrough was pleasant and informative, the price quoted was reasonable, and the first deep clean, where they really go to town on your house, was AMAZING. One of the cleaners even sweetly organized our kid's zillions of stuffed animals. I like the flexibility they offer in using whatever cleaning products you leave out for them, if you prefer they use something other than their default products. We've used cleaning services for several years in Houston and now Austin. I will say of all the services, they do a great job with initial setup/quote and customer service However, as with most services, the cleaning quality is not consistent (depends on which crew you get that day) and you end up spending quite a bit more once you are tipping multiple people on top of the cleaning bill itself. The reason I have decided to give them 3 instead of 4 stars is mainly due to our experience in closing out with them. We were moving (to an area they don't service) and we requested a move out cleaning for the rent house we were moving from. The quote we received over the phone (knowing it would not be exact) was much lower than the bill we were stuck with (quote was $220 to $250 and actual bill was over $300. Considering it normally cost us around $140 plus tip to have the home cleaned on a biweekly basis, this was just too big of a jump. The home was empty (no furniture to move or dust) and we only added a hand wipe down of base boards and door frames (no oven cleaning or anything else major). Now they did say it will depend on how long it takes to clean the house but the house was not in bad shape at all I just can't imagine it taking so long for multiple people to clean an empty house. No heads up for the additional cost, they just debited our credit card and moved on down the road. After being a loyal customer for almost 2 years, we felt taken advantage of. read more

I'm late on this post but I had to make sure that I posted. Connie, Maria and Berenice came on our regular service day last week and it happened to coincide with our AC repair. The AC was suppose to be off for 5hrs and they were coming in the AM and I was hoping it was back and running before they came. The AC repair service came late and the air was still off when the team showed. I work from home and I was hot and sweating and I can only imagine how hot they were as they worked. I felt so bad for them and apologized. I never heard them complain and they assured me they were okay. They did an amazing job on the house which is even more commendable given the circumstances. We are in our second year using The Cleaning Authority. Our team is awesome! It is such a treat to work hard and come home twice a month and see the carpet nap laying just so, the tub tile cleaned of water marks, dust bunnies corralled, 'fridge shining, etc. The cleaning schedule and procedure keeps our home ready for action at all times and we do a lot of entertaining. I'd like to commend The Cleaning Authority Team 19 (Olivia and Rossio). Olivia is VERY good at her job (I would hate if she was reassigned to a different team or if she was no longer assigned to clean my home) and even though Rossio is still in training, I think she has done a good job so far as well. I will say that we have been customers for several years now and overall it has been a good experience. We started with cleanings every other week, but over time eventually it became weekly. There have been a few times when they've sent over someone to inspect the work and ensure that I am satisfied, which is great and I have been pretty open with my critiques. There was a few months when the cleaning was not up to as good a standard as most of the time, but I think that was because of specific people (who I'm pretty sure are no longer employed there). On the few occasions where something was missed or not cleaned as well as usual, they have sent a team over to correct their mistake. There have been slight damages to furniture over the years, especially in areas that are vacuumed, and a few breakages which weren't really expensive items so not worth bothering with compensation (not by these two ladies, but others who have come and gone). When I have needed to cancel or reschedule cleanings, Bryan and Leti have been very helpful, but I also really try to give at least a week's notice to allow for those scheduling changes to be made so that it is easier for them. My one constant complaint is that they do not change out the mop water enough for the amount of tile I have in my house. (I think it should be changed at least three or four times for this amount of tile with heavy traffic - we have a dog - and I can tell it is never as clean as I would like.) They didn't typically schedule on a weekend but owner said she would call a couple of workers she thought might be interested in some extra hours. She called me right back and had cleaners at the house the next day for 4 hours getting it ready for tenants who were coming that day! So pleased to find a company willing to go that extra mile...had called numerous other companies who couldn't handle a last minute job like that. Extremely rude representative over the phone. I had the same interaction as another customer reviewed about four months ago, in that the moment I called their service line I immediately was greeted with an extremely unpleasant woman that sounded as if I was wasting her time by calling up this service! All I inquired on was a request I made online 3 days prior, and never received an email back about a service quote. Those were my exact words to begin with when I called in, and her follow up response was "Well if you looked at the email you would see what we quoted you." If I had an email, I wouldn't be calling?! Then she starting making these grunting noises over the phone and saying "geez" every 5 seconds as if asking for a quote over the phone(because I never received one via email)was the end of her world. Before she even offered to get a quote, she also said "I'm going to tell you right now, we're completely booked for the week so we don't have any availability, sorry"...I never asked that question either, I just wanted a quote! After I got tired of her whining, when she placed me on hold, I just hung up. Literally the most ridiculous unnecessary experience from a cleaning company. read more

replacing my original review , which we were begged for, with an honest one. We were notified by mail, after being a customer for approximately two years, that TCA would no longer provide service. Which is fine as we are looking for a replacement anyway. Consistently poor cleaning. Rather than skipping areas that weren't tidy (kids rooms) they would stuff laundry into cabinets and under beds and spend most of their time tidying rooms they were told they could ignore. As a result the areas we cared about were neglected. Floors rarely looked clean especially in kitchen. Many advertised services such as cleaning baseboards and grout obviously never occurred. On two occasions shopping bags with purchases were removed during cleaning. Whether mistaken for trash or stolen we can't say. A $200 watch and some children's clothes among other things. Several unreported broken property incidents such as our microwave handle and banged up walls. Complaints would typically be addressed by an inspector on the next visit and a good cleaning. Over time our regular cleaner clearly grew to dislike us, going from sunny and pleasant to glaring and rude. Here's to finding a better company in 2017! read more

This cleaning service is a joke. The maids didn't clean thoroughly and broke a faucet fixture of mine. It was a Moen faucet.... The woman that broke the faucet handled my dishes and kitchen area very roughly and she always ruined something The owner didn't care how his employees did their jobs. He did try sending out other workers but to no avail. They were on a time crunch and everything was done halfway at most of the cleanings. Brian was crass and didn't care about his employees work. I hired Bryan based on an in-home interview and walkthrough. He talked very quickly (almost hard to understand) but I liked his energy and enthusiasm. I also liked that they used green products. The first service was a deep clean and I was very impressed with the thoroughness of the job. Though he quoted 2-3 hours for the job, it took 4 hours and was a much higher price than I expected. They also broke my son's ceiling fan light and broken glass rained down on his bed and into his toy bin. It took two ladies nearly 30 minutes to clean that up. (BTW, the light fixture was replaced by Bryan personally 2 months later.) So I set up bi-weekly service for myself and my mother who also lives in our neighborhood. The second time the crew came, I was quite disappointed (Irene and Maria). I actually took photos of areas they missed and emailed them to Bryan. There were 7 photos I sent him showing dirt, spots, mess left in the kitchen and breakfast room. He was super apologetic and offered to come back to re-clean or I could get a discount on the next visit... I opted for the discount. I also requested in writing that a different crew come next time so there wouldn't be any awkwardness about my complaint. (Note: Bryan rotates areas for deep cleans, so I was only expecting the deep clean areas to be impeccable which they were not.) The third visit had one lady the same as the second time (Maria) but she didn't speak English and neither did the other lady, Nellie. The third visit was satisfactory though I had to point out areas to the "supervisor/QC" woman that were missed (the upstairs landing banister had a thick layer of dust as well as areas in the living room which was supposed to be deep cleaned). The fourth visit had the same exact crew as the second visit and there was definitely tension (Irene and Maria). Again, areas were missed. So again, I asked for a completely new crew to be sent. I was willing to work with Bryan and give him the benefit of the doubt. He admitted that he missed my email with the request for a different crew. Okay, new crew for the fifth visit. They did a great job! In fact, I was so happy I added a substantial tip to the total. Yay, I was a happy homeowner and thought our problems were behind us. When I find someone I like, I am loyal. Alas, the sixth visit (second for the new crew), the house was left too dirty for my satisfaction. The master bathroom was slated for the deep clean and there was toothpaste in the sink and the backsplash behind the sink wasn't wiped down. There was also maple syrup and spilled milk spots left on the breakfast table from the kids' breakfast that morning and the kitchen floor was not mopped. The kitchen also had coffee dribble down the front of a cabinet. So I fired them. (For what it's worth, my mom was never as dissatisfied as I was. I even questioned Bryan at one point that I had high expectations and if he felt that he could not meet them, we should not do business anymore, but he assured me that he wanted to move forward.) Save your time... though he is a nice guy, Bryan is not a good manager and his crew just doesn't do a thorough job. I would not recommend this service. read more

I hired TCA to clean my empty home, which all the floors were brand new. I spoke with Lety, who was very nice and knowledgeable to schedule 3 hours of service, and a bid for a bi-weekly cleaning, with main attention to deep cleaning the bathrooms, and once that was done, doing a once-over on the floors (they were new and just cleaned after install) and dusting window sills. I called Friday to confirm where the people could find the key and Bryan reiterated what the focus of my cleaning would be. Lety, Bryan and I were on the same page. 3 hours is plenty of time for this! Well, two bathrooms were "cleaned" but definitely not to my standards. The basin of the tubs were cleaned but the faucets were untouched. One bathroom had been completely missed. When I called to express my concern Bryan was willing to send his team out for 30 minutes to clean, and 'if it went over I would be responsible for paying the overage". If they couldn't clean it in 3 hours how would they accomplish it in 30 minutes with an untouched bathroom? I told him I would like the job completed and he said that was unfair for me to ask because he already paid his workers overtime to clean on Saturday (which was the only day offered to me) and he just couldn't guarantee that they could finish the job. I told Bryan that after speaking to him and Lety we were all clear on what my goals for this deep clean were. Bryan was unapologetic and denied ever discussing my goals for my clean. Because he was unwilling to make it right and he ultimately refunded me 30 mins worth of time. I still paid $230 to have two bathrooms half cleaned and am still searching for a company that can clean my house bi-weekly. I am glad I didn't hire these folks to come bi-weekly! Especially if they can't get the job done and are unwilling to make it right. read more

So, a friend recommended these folks after I moved to the area. I thought, wow, great. I need a cleaning service. I called. Bryan came out. Great discussion. He seemed honest and willing to always make things right. I hired them on. By now, they have cleaned my place 3 times. And in all honesty, they are just OK. My personal house keeper - an individual - did a much better job than this team of 3 does. So, for the price, they are - eh, OK. I'm not 'wow'ed by any of the cleaning but it is adequate. The things that bother me (which, to be fair, I have not talked with Bryan about yet so we will see how that goes) are as follows: 1) they unplug nightlights to plug in the vacuum cleaner and don't replug in my nightlights 2) they turn off/on ceiling fans and leave in the alternate state than I left them 3) they pick up rugs and never lay them back down where they were and 4) they won't move anything. And I mean anything. Something simple as moving an empty box is not done. Seriously, it was empty. So, are they terrible? No. They get the basics done and their rotating heavy clean stuff is well, not noticeable. So, I'll get in touch with Bryan and see if some of the issues I have had get fixed up. read more

I hired these people because they had a nice brochure and their cleaning methods (from reading the brochure) looked quite good. After using them for a month, however, I quickly realized that looks can be very deceiving. First of all, only about half their cleaning staff speak English. When I told Bryan Knox (the franchise owner) that I wanted the same team cleaning my house every time he said that wouldn't be a problem as long as they can come at the same time when they come. So, needless to say, we never had the same team clean our home even once. To make matters worse, when they cleaned, they took stuff off our tables, bookshelves, and other places and moved them to drawers, and places that were "out of the way" so the items weren't in site. I repeatedly asked Bryan as well as the house cleaners to stop doing this but it never stopped. The real clincher came when they broke one of my magnets from Europe. You see, whenever we travel somewhere we always pick up a magnet. Well, after one of the cleanings one day I noticed that one of the magnets was broken in half and the magnet piece was actually missing. When I called Bryan to tell him about this I had to call over a 4 week period because he would never call me back. When he finally did, he acted all entitled and said he would buy a new magnet at Michael's and said "how would you like me to go about fixing this problem?". I told him there was no way he could possibly "fix" the problem short of sending me to Europe to pick up a new magnet which is completely not feasible. He told me he wouldn't bill me for the last cleaning and I accepted that as compensation, even though the magnet meant way more to me than $90. About a week after that, I received a piece of mail from Bryan telling me that they would not be servicing my house any longer. Did you get that? They broke my magnet, had to reimburse me, and then fired me as a customer. I originally wasn't going to post anything online, but I want other people to watch out for these people since I think they're a bunch of charlatans. read more

When my father-in-law was receiving chemo and vi siting us from PA, the cleaning authority made it possible for him to stay healthy throughout his visit. Their organic cleaning products were super important not only his health, but also our children's. Initially I was concerned because TCA was booked solid and management was worried that there wouldn't be enough staff for our appointment, but they did everything possible to have 2 wonderful ladies (who's names I regrettably forget) come early in the morning to prepare and clean our home. I would definitely recommend the TCA, my only suggestion would be to book far in advance. read more

Based on excellent reviews on another web site (before I discovered Yelp), we hired Cleaning Authority to clean our newly purchased home before we moved in. We wanted the rugs vacuumed well and the cabinets, shelves, and other surfaces cleaned thoroughly. Neither of the two women who came spoke English, and thus my husband -- who was overseeing the effort -- was unable to communicate with them. They worked for about 2 1/2 hours from a list. One would expect that two professionals would have accomplished fairly deep cleaning in a 1-story empty house in that amount of time. The house looked clean on the surface after they left; however, every time I open a drawer or a cabinet for the first time now, I find dust or other residue from the previous owner. It appears that the cleaners may have opened the drawer or cabinet, given a quick swipe of a dust cloth inside, and then closed it up. I just finished wiping a couple of shelves in the laundry room with a wet paper towel -- thinking I'd just give them a cursory go-over before unloading a box with laundry supplies. Instead, the paper towel was filthy from the wiping. The cleaning people obviously never touched those cabinets. We had thought that if Cleaning Authority worked out well on the one-time cleaning, we would sign up with them for regular cleaning. That is not an option now. read more

The worst cleaning company that I have ever used. The rotation method means that they do a surface clean and maybe vacuum the couch once in a while. They only vacuum the floors, even wood and tile. This was a gift from a good friend to me for my birthday. The company was easy to schedule and even called the day before as a reminder. Next the two ladies showed up right on time and there was no wondering if they were coming or not. Vanessa and Olivia were well prepared with all the cleaning products which had a great smell. They cleaned exceptionally well even pulling scatter rugs aside and flipping back area rugs. That impressed me for sure. Blinds were dusted and the ceiling fan in my bedroom was cleaned as well. I have had many cleaners thru the years but for them to come in cold and do such an amazing job really impressed me so much that I am going to hire them on a regular bases. It was for the first time I am using a cleaning company. After talking to the Franchise owner of Cleaning authority Round Rock, I found them reasonable. After the first day of cleaning, I found out that none of the secondary bathrooms and toilets were cleaned. Even though those bathrooms are rarely used ones, they were supposed to clean all the bathrooms every time they come in, unless otherwise told. The bathrooms might have looked clean and they decided to skip them. None of the wooden surfaces like coffee tables or dining table were actually dusted.
