This acting thing is tough (and rough)... Especially if you're new to the industry and starting out as a newbie. So much to figure out - classes, getting representation - the who and the hows, how to market yourself - the what and the where... and then what happens when you get an audition, or callback?! I've learned so much from Brian and the team at BCAS. Brian has had a long and successful acting career. He's figured it out and is passing on his wisdom. Lucky us - the BCAS team lays it all out there. I remember visiting (auditing) different acting schools as I tried to find THE ONE. BCAS was the third studio I visited. Being someone who has major social anxiety, it took a lot for me to put myself out there - but when I walked in, I immediately felt as if I found my acting home, my "family". Brian, John, and Jill knew each student by name. They even knew who I was when I walked in on Day 1. I was impressed. Observing the format of the class, how Brian led and shared raw notes throughout the session, his humor and/but also seriousness with his art, how the group was focused, supportive and positive, and the professional equipment and recording set up, I signed up for my first cycle that evening. I was done auditing any other class/schools. I'm still at the beginning stage of my career in acting, but I know with the Brian's guidance, the different courses/services that the studio offers (accelerated program, assistance on eligibility to become Sag-E, etc.,) my career will move forward. No doubt. As a note: BCAS won't do the work for you. They'll be there as a tool and resource for you to succeed. But YOU have to put in the work. So there's that. Get to work. As I tell my kids, "If I'm not having a blast, I'm not doing it." Good Luck friends!

"Dreams are something you have to believe in. I almost gave up on mine. To all of you out there,…read moreplease keep your dreams alive." - Ke Huy Quan, 2023 Oscar Winner for Best Supporting Actor When I was child in the 1970s, I loved watching television and the stories that the actors would convey over the screen. I loved how shows captured my attention with their laughter, escapism, or storyline. So, after 50 years of denying my dream and retiring from a 30+ year career, I started taking classes at the Actor's Studio of Orange County (ASoOC) in 2023 and studying the Seven Pillars Acting Technique. The Seven Pillars Acting Technique is a comprehensive acting technique that teaches you how to analyze scripts and how to "live truthfully under imaginary circumstances" because acting is so much more than just memorizing lines! Yet, the techniques are only words on paper. At ASoOC, I learned how to behave, speak, and feel as the character from all the wonderful instructors who brought the words and techniques to life! All working actors themselves, the instructors taught, encouraged, nurtured, and gently pushed/challenged/stretched us from the very first class of Living Truthfully to the very last graduating Showcase. All the while, they created a community where fellow students/actors encouraged, rather than competed with, each other. Lastly, students also learned the "business side" of acting, such as preparing their resumes, shooting their headshots, creating a biography, figuring out their casting types, etc. The business side (I needed to provide a biography) immediately came into play once I graduated! By nature, I am an introvert; yet, as I went through the classes at the ASoOC, I found myself emerging from myself and stepping up to the challenges of the given script (a shoutout to Victoria M. for nudging me!). Having recently graduated from the program, I am now making people laugh, allowing them to escape, or capturing their attention with the storyline. ASoOC is a wonderful community to learn the art of acting! Please keep your dreams alive!

From my very first class with my teacher, Connie, I felt welcomed and supported. I remember working on a challenging scene, but Connie helped me feel comfortable, confident, and excited about beginning this acting journey. As I continued taking classes, I noticed tremendous growth in both my confidence and my work ethic. The encouragement, training, and support I received gave me the courage to pursue opportunities I never thought possible. One of my proudest accomplishments was being cast in Avenue Q at Chabot College in Hayward, California, in March 2026. It was my very first musical, and I had the honor of playing Gary Coleman, the superintendent. I truly believe that my experience at 321 Acting Studios helped give me the confidence and skills to step into that role and succeed. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank everyone at 321 Acting Studios for helping me grow as both an actor and a person. They have created a welcoming community that feels like family from the very beginning. Their dedication, encouragement, and genuine care inspire actors to believe in themselves and reach their full potential. I highly recommend 321 Acting Studios to anyone looking to develop their craft, build confidence, and be part of an amazing and supportive community. The people here will always hold a special place in my heart because of the love, commitment, and passion they bring to helping every actor succeed.

I started here in summer 2023 and went here consistently for about a year. I'm not sure if it's still the same format but when I was there you would pay for class per 2 weeks session -- so one week you and your scene partner would do a zoom cold read with each other and Eric. You should have worked up the scene prior to the cold read as well and discuss it with Eric at the cold read. Then the following week you would meet up (I was in the Tuesday evening class) at the studio to perform the scene. Depending on who your scene partner is, you could schedule to meet to practice your scene more if you wanted. But most people I believe just chose to meet up half-hour to hour prior to in-person class to practice. What I really liked about this class is that you get experience being filmed at every in-person class. He has two 4K cameras, a green screen where he can project a background, and a boom mic. So you're not just performing your scene on a stage while your peers watch. You will get to perform while also learning the technical aspects of how to perform on camera. THIS is why I went to Eric's class! I got an experience that is close to being on a set. Also you can get experience working the camera or holding the boom mic while your peers do their scene. At the end of class, you will watch everyone's scene and Eric will give his critiques. You can also request to get a copy of your scene, which was $10 when I was there. Since I started acting in 2023, this really helped me to build a reel so I had something to self-submit for auditions and later on when I submitted to agents. Eric teaches Tony Barr's technique (hence the name of the studio -- Eric and Tony were good friends). I don't know how to describe Tony Barr's teachings but it just made sense to me -- it's practical and realistic. I felt I could organically just let go and be present in the scene. I believe I did 1 or 2 private sessions with Eric before I felt comfortable to come to the in-person classes. But you don't have to do that, that's just what I did as I was new to acting and had to get over the nerves of being on camera. Every actor I met in class was nice and very supportive. Eric created a safe space for everyone to learn and can make bold choices. I highly recommend this place!

He knows more about film acting than anyone I've ever met, and I have met many actors, directors, teachers. This is without a doubt the best acting class in Los Angeles. The only reason more people don't know about this class is because Eric relies on word of mouth to get new students. He's the most brilliant acting teacher in the state, but doesn't spend much of his energy advertising. Works for me because there's always a spot for me, and there's no other class I want to be in. Also, this is one of the only classes that shoots the scenes we work. Being in this class not only sharpens talent but it also gives students new footage every two weeks. Can't say enough good things about this place.
