First not a B&B....bed yes, breakfast no. From our digital check in online, to our digital entry to the house and then our room the experience was detached. The room was very nice looking and the shower was excellent. I would not stay again though. The room had an odd smell, to be clear not mold at all but it was there. Had to pay $50 dollars to use the fridge. It seems like such a little thing but we like to watch TV to wind down from the day, the room was setup with Roku TV we are very aware of how to use Roku but not willing to enter personal subscription info on a device we have not setup or control wifi. It was frustrating. Although parking was frustrating that is a typical issue in Salem as a whole not really a Court House problem The owners asked for feedback and we gave it the response was.....well insulting. In a very professionally spun manner they said the problems were our fault. Nice. read more

Stayed at The Coach House in December. It was a great experience. Communication is wonderful. The rooms are modern, clean, well decorated. It is centrally located in Salem, MA. Just enough parking for the guests. If you have any issue with stairs, make sure to ask for a room on the bottom floor. Don't be discouraged by the fact that there isn't a front desk, or anyone on site for customer service. They're phone number gets you to a love persona don't why are super nice and helpful. The code they send you will work well. The little breakfast box they provide is fresh and a good way to start the morning. I would stay there again if I find myself back in Salem, MA. read more

Very cool vibe. Room was clean and nicely decorated. The art throughout the place was amazing. The building is a very cool old victorian, which was very charming. Not too far a walk into downtown Salem and all the attractions. We had no issues parking in back and the Starbucks was conveniently only a few blocks away. read more

We had a lovely stay at the Coach house. It was beautifully decorated and cozy from the time we stepped inside. Our girls said they had the best night sleep! Communication was great. Ice machine was down when we arrived, so Marley ran out to grab us some right away. We were just missing the convenience of a mini fridge, but understand esthetically it wouldn't fit the modern feel. read more

I would add an additional star to this review if I could! My husband and I had a very tricky and tiring travel experience the day we were to arrive at The Coach House. Although it is all digital check-in, you still have the BEST customer service you can find in 2025!! This is one of the chicest hotels we've ever stayed at and as world travelers, we've stayed at some amazing hotels!! Everything about The Coach House feels high end! The mostly black and white decor has touches of gold and green and off white accents that warm up the glam of black and white. Right when you step inside, you know this place is special! The fragrance, cool music, thoughtful artwork and beautiful light fixtures are incredible! We loved the 'Witch you were here' photo wall op and there are thoughtful details everywhere! We know how difficult a black carpet can be! Test the common areas, carpeted in black, we're always clean! I've also got to talk about the bed!! Easily one of the most comfortable hotel bed we've ever slept on! We looked forward to a great nights sleep after long days of tours! Linens were great quality and the bathroom made great use of a small space by providing a spa like shower experience with high end soaps and nice big towels. We utilized the concierge service for a couple of questions and the communication was so good, it is beyond compare! Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Coach House Inn but not sure we'd return. Traveling to Salem in October you expect it to be pricy but $1800 for 2 weeknights -ouch! Not even breakfast included as they're no longer a "B&B". The hotel itself is beautiful. All modern black and white decor but still has a charming feel to it. The room was very clean and smelled great and there was a lot of attention to detail such as the balloon arch and "witch you were here" photo op set up outside our room. We stayed in a King Suite on the second floor. There are two staircases which can take you to the back parking lot or front of the hotel. The concierge, Marley, was super sweet and helpful and always available for any questions we had. You have your own mini keurig with sugar and creamer and small water bottles which was nice. The bathroom was super small and I almost could not wash my face or brush my teeth at the sink. It did have a cute little vanity area where we did our hair and makeup. The bed was comfy with plenty of pillows and they brought us extra towels and a comforter when requested. When I booked it said fireplace but there was no working fire. Just electric candles in place of where a fireplace once stood (I imagine). The closet had good room for our clothes and also robes, a space heater, an iron and blow dryer. It's nice that it was a short ride from downtown Salem and right up the block from Max & Dani's house (Hocus Pocus). We walked down one afternoon and took pics. read more

My sister and I stayed in suite 8 this weekend (11/2-11/4) to visit Salem for the first time. We absolutely loved The Coach House. It's about a 5 minute drive to town-center which was super easy. The mobile check-in/check-out was so easy especially as we checked in very late at night and didn't want to disrupt any staff having to stay late. The aesthetic was chef's kiss, the room was very clean, updated, comfortable and spacious! Thanks for s lovely stay, we'll definitely be staying there again when we visit and will recommend to all of our friends! read more

We stayed on the third floor room #2. The bed felt like an ironing board! It was the worst ever! If there is one thing a B&B should have is an awesome cozy bed. The basket of morning goodies was nice but, a good nights sleep is all that I request. read more

I certainly would not recommend this place to anyone. My sister and I booked online and we received an email from owner confirming the reservation and it noted that the credit card had been charged for one night, and that the other 2 nights would be charged upon arrival. So one would think all was well! After an long drive to get there and knocking on the door and calling the number provided to no avail we had to email the woman from the parking lot., after waiting for over an hour....only then she calls us and says we have no reservation!!! She goes on to say that the she had issues with the credit card and tried to email and call and neither worked, which i feel is total bs...so here we were STUCK having to find another place to stay last minute in Salem in October....the busiest of seasons.Her attitude was less than supportive. Lack of respect & hospitality, Just terrible! I inquired about reserving a 2 room suite as per their website and received a standard follow up response (possibly automated?) to my email within 24 hours requesting more information - I would assume that this means there is a vacancy for my request dates. After my reply email with necessary information, I did not hear back again. After 2 more attempts by email, I called and spoke directly with Patricia, she asked me to call back after 7:30pm due to a Dr appointment- at 7:45, no answer, no return call to my voicemail? The next day I attempted again, no answer, no return email, no return call? I kept track of my emails and phone calls as to not seem overbearing, but I eventually gave up and booked at another inn much closer to where I wanted to be I have traveled enough to know this is not the kind of service I would ever recommend to anyone- Skip the Coach House Inn if you are headed to Salem- the other Inns will gladly tell you if they are booked or not and wont give you the run around I have posted the original reply email that was answered promptly by me but never responded to by Coach House Inn- I blocked the name because I have a proper sense of professionalism Thank you for your interest in The Coach House. I can't recommend this place enough. I give it five stars in its price range, which was well under $200. We found ourselves without lodging and stopped someone on the street who recommended this place. The greater Boston area is pricey and Salem can be a tourist trap. We booked our room sight unseen and were concerned about the low rate, especially when passing though the momentarily sketchy neighborhood on the way. But what a wonderful surprise, the house, while in need of a little TLC, was nonetheless absolutely beautiful, with many of the original furnishings and fixtures intact. The operator (and I assume, owner) Pat, was warm and kind and lives on the premises. The room itself had bottled water, a coffee maker, tea, robes and a comfy, firm bed. I have to say this place had my favorite shampoo, conditioner and lotion EVER, which is saying something. The room and everything in it was extremely clean and tied for first place with my usual (and much more expensive) local vacation spot closer to home. Which is also saying something. I found the location to be a relief, we were away from all the tour buses and congestion and the street parking is unrestricted (unlike the tourist area of Salem). The downside is the that the bathroom is down the hall, even though it was exclusively ours to use, and the shower was very small, but again, you have to consider the really fabulous price point and other pluses. While we can afford the Hawthorne, The Coach House would be our preferred choice of lodging for any future visits to Salem, hands down. read more

Lovely place with a fabulous owner. I am not into all the lace and frills, so I actually chose this place because it seemed elegant, but not over the top cutesy. I chose well. I had a late check in, but with a private parking lot and the key waiting for me, it was simple and easy. No elevator, but other than that, no complaints. The room was clean, fresh and very comfortable. My private bathroom was outside the room, but it was also clean and fully stocked. Nice touch to have breakfast delivered to me each morning in a basket outside my room. And, a very special thanks to the owner for kindly accommodating my gluten free diet. The free tickets to the Salem Witch Museum was a nice perk. I would definitely stay here again. read more

The Coach House Inn is, simply put, beautiful. Charming, elegant, and affordable, with its own parking lot, it seemed the best choice when I was visiting Salem and I was so pleased with that decision when I arrived. I was traveling with a friend so we chose a third floor room with two beds and a small bathroom. The bathroom was VERY small but it was enough space to get by; the room also had a small kitchenette in the closet with a refrigerator and an antique stove. With no formal dining room, the "breakfast" part of the bargain is delivered to your door every morning, a basket full of fruit, juices, warm pastries, and more. An absolute delight. There is no question that I would stay here again! read more

I had a tour of every room in the Coach House. Talk about fancy elegance! This place has it all. I would much rather stay here than most hotels. The rooms are just plain charming and most of them have en suite bathrooms. Plus 1 star for having its own parking lot. Minus 1 star for the distance from downtown. It's approximately 1 mile. Certainly doable. Even for a midget on a muggy summer day. read more

Hi Folks, Well, my friend and I stayed at The Coach House Inn and LOVED it. The owner and the people who worked there were wonderful. The service was fabulous - they really really went out of their way to make us comfortable and took care of any request immediately. AND the place is LOVELY LOVELY LOVELY - the rooms are SO charming and comfortable. THE BREAKFAST is INCREDIBLE (every morning they put a CHARMING basket in front of your door with a different breakfast every day - always a few fresh fruits like apples AND pears and/or bananas AND fruit salad, AND always croissants and muffins, pastries, etc. and also each day you get EITHER hard-boiled eggs, quiche, yogurt and more - plus always juices, chocolates, butter and jams and more !!!! The kitchens come with microwave, small refrigerator and coffee maker - and there are teas, coffee, hot chocolate, etc. As far as the location, it was a lovely and easy walk to the heart of town - and just a lovely lovely location. I RECOMMEND IT MORE THAN ANY PLACE WE HAVE STAYED IN SALEM (and we have stayed at a few other very nice places, as well). I hope you stay at the Coach House Inn the next time you visit Salem. I stayed at the Coach House Inn this November (02-04NOV) with my mom and sister, so we could experience Salem for the first time, and we had the BEST time. Pat was very accommodating, especially when we arrived an hour earlier than expected AND she gave us the best dinner recommendation; she was just so sweet. Key takeaways: - The Rooms - GORGEOUS! The decor was just beautiful and the rooms were super clean. - The Continental Breakfast - I totally forgot we were getting this until Pat asked us about some items to be served in the basket. We got the cutest basket each morning FULL of yummy food! We had yogurt, fruit, croissants, muffins, OJ, and more. - The Hospitality - Pat was just the best. She always answered the phone when we called, and like I said above, was very accommodating when we arrived unexpectedly early. She gave us the best recommendation for dinner for seafood, Turner's. She was the sweetest and so kind, just popping out when we were coming in for the day asking how we enjoyed walking around. - The Location - walking distance of the center of town AND only a couple blocks from the house in Hocus Pocus (Max and Dani's house).
