Wow great Thai food and service. Finally had a chance to come try their boat noodle soup. It was very flavorful and big portion too. My daughter ordered the ground chicken with basil and fried eggs. We got thai tea, papaya salad, pad se ew, pad thai, and boat noodles and it came out to around $76. I think the pricing per plate was pretty reasonable. The thai tea was more on the milky side so if that's something you like then I would suggest ordering. I fear that the Coconut has become one of the best Thai places in Elk Grove. My family and I live to visit and are hoping that it stays for a long time! It is tucked away in a quiet hole in the wall and the inside it quite small. Don't let the location fool you though, the food is fantastic. A quiet small hole in a wall Thai restaurant. I'm not sure how long The Coconut EG has been here but it used to be a Korean place with really good kimbap and bulgogi bowl. We came here for lunch on Saturday and the place was filled up pretty quickly, so plan ahead because of the limited tables. Curry Puff was good and nicely fried. Nothing to rave about. The Chicken Pad Thai was very good and a staple dish. The waiter will ask you for the spicy level. The Mango Shrimp Salad was excellent. Fresh ingredients and generous portion. The restaurant has a small dining area that can't accommodate pairs and small groups only. The restaurant is clean as well. There is a parking lot - although the lot gets busy, there are always parking spots. There are options next door for dessert! This place is definitely a hole in the wall. I mean the other location in Sac has built a reputation for itself, but this Elk Grove location is newer, small and humble. At first, I thought the prices were kinda high, but after getting the food, I think the prices are appropriate. Each entree comes with a good serving of white or brown rice. Also since it is new the inside is pretty barren. There were a couple of potted plants but almost no decorations. Not sure if they have a heater but it was very cold outside and it was even colder inside the restaurant than it was outside. It was dinner time, and I was craving for some Pad Thai. But, I didn't want the usual Pad Thai we get here in Elk Grove, I wanted the one we would get on The Coconut on T. While searching for Pad Thai, this place popped up. I thought to myself, "this place has a very similar name to the one in downtown." Well, after searching Google, it turns out it's the same! The portions were generous and the price around $18 not including the tip. The Coconut Elk Grove is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a delicious Thai meal.
