Bland pad thai no flavor at all
    Theresa G.

I called on Sunday for take out. I arrived to an empty restaurant. We ordered shrimp pad thai and chicken fried rice as well as chicken satay. This place is close to us in the Bel Air shopping center passing the gym and next to Quick Quack carwash. Im sorry to say the rice was lacking and had huge pieces of broccoli under the rice and very little chicken. It was dry and kinda burnt. The chicken satay was ok. The shrimp pad thai was the biggest let down. No flavor at all just bland noodles. It was too bad because they did give plenty of shrimp but no chili sauce and/or alfalfa sprouts but lots of shredded carrots and tiny portion of peanuts. Sad this wont be a place I go back to. Pricing was also great just not the flavors. :/

Food was fresh to order. Had good flavor. Service was nice and pleasant. Owner was cooking. Quiet, Clean, and nice ambiance.

Came here on Saturday night for dinner and glad it was open. It's a small cozy little restaurant and decorated well. There's only one server, so please be kind a patient. Glad to see there were a few other guests seated and to-go orders ready. Growing up on Thai food, I'm particular. I loved the gravy noodle because not every Thai restaurant serves it. The only downside and reason for 4 stars is that they used American broccoli instead of the traditional Chinese broccoli. The fried banana dessert was also a slightly different texture, but still delicious. Only downside was they had vanilla ice cream instead of traditional coconut ice cream. But I love coming here for an inexpensive lunch or dinner!

    Yellow Curry with Chicken

We LOVE this place! We come in every time we are in area - about once a month. First, the service is exceptional. The food is always hot and SO good. Be sure to ask for it spicy if you like spicy. The curry is our favorite and full of flavor. I get the yellow curry with chicken. My husband gets the green curry. The portions are a good size and reasonably priced. It is a quaint, hole in the wall, neighborhood place that can get crowded. It is very clean. You won't be disappointed!

Pa nang curry - very thin

Quite mediocre Thai food. Thin watery light on flavor pa nang curry. Way too many carrots in both the pa nang curry and pad see ew. Just overall not very good unfortunately.

First time here. Cute little small restaurant. The lady that served us was very polite. Didn't take long for our food to arrive. Everything was delicious. I just wished my papaya salad was spicer ( husband's fault, he cant handle spice) I will definitely be returning to try other items on the menu.

    Red curry with tofu
    Laura Q.

I came in on a Wednesday after work, place was quiet, and there was only one person working the counter. Even so, my food came out pretty quickly. I ordered the red curry with tofu, a side of white rice and spring rolls with tofu. My total was was 28$. The spring rolls were made of shredded lettuce, carrots, and about four pieces of fried tofu, they were huge, but flavorless would not order again. No herbs either cilantro / mint ect. Came with a sauce I did not eat. Tasted like old peanut sauce. Rice was low quality and not good. Felt dry and old. The curry was on the sweeter side even though I ordered it spicy. Very runny would not order again.

Ordered (2) orders of spring rolls. MUCH bigger than expected. Substituted shrimp with chicken

So I have a hard time rating this because I've gone before during the pandemic, and the drunken noodles here aren't bad. They're about average with places I've been to, but today's visit was a little disheartening. I got the mango curry with chicken, and lets just say it was probably more like mango chicken. The taste of curry escaped this dish. I think the mango was over ripe or something, but there was also a fact of there was NO lack of mango in this dish. It was pretty much swimming in mango juice with a splash of curry. I understand this is mango curry, but it really just turned into mango. The carrots tasted like mango. The bell peppers tasted like curry. The chicken tasted like a mango with a chicken texture. I like mango, but this was just too much. If you go, I think go for the noodles. But as for this curry, I won't be getting it again.

Unfortunately our first visit here was not the greatest. We ordered green curry, papaya salad, and thai hot wings. The wings were good, a solid 4/5. The curry and papaya salad left much to be desired unfortunately. The curry was basically a watery soup and the papaya salad was missing ingredients listed in it's description. We may give this place another chance, but would only get the wings again.

Fried Rice (Kow Pad Kra Pow with tofu no eggs) Fresh Spring Rolls Mixed Vegetables (Pad Pak) Barbecue Beef

The food is so yumm! And if u have different preferences this restaurant is perfect, they offer vegetarian options that actually taste amazing. The lady is honest and sweet, 10/10 the spot to try!!

Their beef Pad Thai is hands down my favorite because it's packed with flavor, the beef is always tender, and I've honestly never had a better Pad Thai anywhere else! We also ordered the papaya salad and the beef larb. The papaya salad was fresh and tasty, though I think it could use a little more shrimp paste for an even deeper flavor. The beef larb, on the other hand, was amazing as always! perfectly seasoned and one of my favorite dishes on the menu. I've dined in several times over the years, and the service has always been quick, friendly, and welcoming. It's one of those places that's consistently great, whether you're eating in or ordering takeout. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone craving delicious, authentic Thai food!

However, everything I've tried here so far has been phenomenal. On my second visit, I decided to try their papaya salad, and let me tell you, it was BOMB.COM. I didn't get a chance to take a picture of it because we ate it so quickly, but it was seriously delicious and super well-balanced. I also ordered the Boat Noodles again, and they did not disappoint! Of course, I had to get another Thai tea with Gunther's ice cream because it's sooo good. I definitely want to keep coming back and branch out to try more of their menu instead of ordering the same things every time because everything I've had so far has been that good. This place is always full whenever I come here, which honestly doesn't surprise me considering how good the food is! The space itself is pretty small, but they did a really good job with the setup and making the most of it. Everything feels organized and well maintained, and even the bathrooms are clean, which I definitely appreciate! Even with how busy they get, the service has been amazing. Super fast and friendly! The Kao Soi was beyond palatable; one of the tastiest curries I've ever had. I wasn't too crazy about the crispy egg noodle so I left it on the side. The pineapple juice had a nice tropical, fruity tang. The server during my dining experience was Taj. He was literally the sweetest person ever. I loved his amiable personality paired with incredible customer service! The entire ambiance was remarkably gorgeous. I appreciated the charming, contemporary, artful touches throughout the restaurant. The space was also inviting and clean. Rao Thai Eatery exceeded my expectations, from the flavorful Thai dishes to the lovely staff. I highly recommend stopping by.

Those were probably the best parts of the meal and what I enjoyed the most. The Beef Larb was a little too tough for my liking. It felt slightly overcooked and just wasn't the texture I was expecting. The Chow Fun noodles were also way too soft for my preference. I like my noodles with a little more texture, so these didn't really do it for me. Overall: 3/5 For what we ordered, $80 felt pretty expensive, especially considering the food was just okay. Nothing was terrible, but for that price, I expected to be more impressed. Would I go back? Probably not anytime soon. Maybe I ordered the wrong things, but based on this experience, it just wasn't worth the $80 for me.
