Thai Mango is very local to us and is our absolute go to for Thai food. We have been coming here for 2 years and the food is consistently fresh and delicious. The restaurant is always clean and the staff always attentive. In our most recent visit we tried dishes we never ordered before. The Tom Kha with seafood is fantastic and I like this better than the Tom Yum (which is a bit too sweet for my taste). Chicken Satay was smoky and tender with a generous portion of chicken on each skewer. Ancient Pad Thai really surprised me - it has the essence of regular pad thai but more umami with interesting depth of flavor. I highly recommend this one! Pad Ped (Salmon) was also very good but best enjoyed fresh from the kitchen. Lightly battered cubes of salmon tossed in a red curry stir fry with veggies - so delicious! Pretty sure anything you order here will be good. Other noteworthy dishes are the papaya salad and (any) fried rice. I have yet to try any of the noodle soups but maybe I'll try that next! read more

Really good Thai food. As a Thai person, all I want to eat all the time is Som Tum (papaya salad) so we decided to stop here when we were in town. Their papaya salad was authentic tasting but it was super sour. We ended up sending it back so they can fix it or make us a new one, but when they brought it back..it ended up being too sweet but we ate it anyways since we didn't want to resend it back. The kao poon was my favorite. Super delicious and super authentic and I love the portions and all the veggies it included. Our waitress was very friendly and it was nice conversing with her in Thai and Lao. I will say that the place was big and nice but could definitely use some cleaning on their walls and stuff since it's a bit dirty but overall good was great and we'll be back. read more

I came and ordered the beef pad Thai to go order was very friendly and fast. Didn't wait that long for my food. Interior is quite small but there were lots of seating options. Food had a lot of protein which was nice. Noodles were nicely saturated in sauce but it wasn't overly soggy. Overall the noodles were very good and flavorful. I am more than impressed, this was a fantastic meal. There was only one server, she did her best, and the entire restaurant almost filled up entirely. Kao piek- I have never had it at a restaurant, only homemade and this tasted just like it was homemade! The noodles were cooked to perfection and soup was spiced to the T. Boat noodles- lots of beef, soup was great, loved the veggies. Beef was cooked medium rare. Sample platter- it had a perfect amount of variety. Chicharonnes, boiled egg, fried chicken wings, cabbage for the papaya salad and Lao sausage. I have no complaints about this platter, every single thing was delicious. Papaya was also style. Beef laarb- Lao style- we ordered it cooked because my friend doesn't like medium rare meat, it was on the dry side. It would have been better if it was medium rare. Mango sticky rice- OH MY GOODNESS!! It was Sssoooo goooddd!!! The sauce in it was sweet and salty. Mangoes were the perfect ripeness, it was sweet but not too sweet and just the right firmness. Purple and white sticky rice was smothered with the sauce. I saw a table next to us each get their own mango sticky rice and that was it. That's how good it is. Laos style vs thai style- Lao style sauce is brown and had crab paste in it. Thai style is more lime juice and fish sauce only. I highly recommend also style. My new Thai spot. read more

I started with a Thai iced tea. It looked like there was a lot of cream in it, but the tea flavor was actually still pretty noticeable. Either it was balanced well or my palate was just picking it up more that night. For food, we ordered the pad see ew with beef, yellow curry with chicken, chicken satay, and roti. The food started coming out around the 12 minute mark, which felt reasonable for how busy it was. The pad see ew was good, but the yellow curry was probably my favorite out of everything we ordered. The chicken was tender and the curry had good flavor without being overwhelming. I just love taking some roti and dipping it in that curry. What I liked was just hearing the kitchen go to work! You could hear the dishes being cooked up fresh, and it just reminded me of my time in Thailand. Solid spot, I'll be back again. read more

Wow! Believe the stars!!! We came in on a Sunday around 5pm. The dining area was empty when we arrived but was quickly filled as the dinner rush approached. We ordered deep fried pork belly, fried wings, nam khao, pumpkin curry, pad Thai, Lao sausage and pad Thai. EVERYTHING was flavorful and delicious! I want to emphasize the namkhao because I make my own nam khao and I have had it from other restaurants and the nam khao here was fresh and so delicious! Not oily at all! The food and the service was great. We were there in early part of the evening so it was pretty quiet. We ordered takeout so we didn't stay long. The only complaint is the portion size was kind of skimpy. Our take out boxes were barely half full. I've ordered from another popular Thai restaurant in Elk Grove and their price are comparable but the portion sizes are more and worth every penny. Interesting location, due to the traffic congestion on Stockton Blvd it's pretty easy to pass by unknowingly which was what I ended up doing. When I walked into the restaurant there wasn't any staff in view. I ended up walking to their counter after a few minutes that was when I saw a staff and was told I could sit anywhere that was opened. If that was the case they may consider putting away the please wait to be seated sign when the restaurant was pretty empty. We ordered the Thai papaya salad, pineapple fried rice, drunken noodle with beef, and mango sticky rice. Each dish had a good size portion for the price. The papaya salad was not spicy even for a medium not sure why that was the case. Perhaps they forgot the peppers while the drunken noodles were spicy. read more

We did take out. After I found a long hair in the spring roll none of the other items were eaten. Took the spring roll with the hair back to show what we found and they had the audacity to ask where the rest of the food was when we asked for ALL of the money back. They claimed they don't have anyone with long hair who worked there. If that's the case, which I'm sure is not, it does not negate the fact that there was hair rolled into the roll. Looked up their recent inspection, about 10 days prior they had one and the food handlers card on site was expired, with a list of other issues. Follow up: Thanks for the acknowledgment, but again, doesn't matter how much was returned. The contaminated order was returned. The second order was half way to San Francisco. The push back from customer service is absurd. Next time I'll be sure to check all the food for hair in one sitting ( shouldn't have to), I won't eat one thing at a time and won't share my food with people who have to leave to go do other things. So, the customer service provided made this experience a bad one. I placed an order, paid for it. When I realized my order was wrong, I called the restaurant. I was willing to drive back, pay for the price difference, and get what I wanted initially. Instead, I was told the cashier confirmed my order, that I should have paid more attention to my receipt. I cancelled the order I was supposed to receive and never came back! When you have people talking to you like this on the phone, that means no one cares about how a customer is treated and my money will definitely go towards some other place where my money is valued. This pad thai definitely hits the spot especially since I was craving it so bad, I would definitely come here again to try something new such as the mango curry. We ordered: Drunken Noodle with Beef: This was good, but there was not a lot of beef and not a lot of noodles. Yellow Curry with Shrimp: There was barely any shrimp in our curry, but the flavors were good. Basil Fried rice with Chicken: Probably the best out of all the other items we got, flavor and portions were there. Lao Papaya Salad Spicy: This was yummy, I ordered it to be spicy but it wasn't so spot, and again, the portion was super small. All for a total of $65 isn't terrible but the portions could've been better. I feel like we barely got any protein in each item. My boyfriend and I enjoy this place. One of our go to spots. Staff is always very friendly, quick and attentive. It's always different people when we go but it's the same faces we usually see. We love getting the Lao papaya salad because it's the perfect amount of spice, sourness and sweet. It goes so well with the deep fried pork belly which is what I always get to pair it with. We always get extra vermicelli noodles with the papaya salad since I like my noodles like that and they charge extra for noodles. Sometimes they're kind and don't charge which is appreciated. We also got the yellow curry which is very flavorful. My boyfriend got to try the spring roll and he said it was different than other spring rolls due to the sauce, but he enjoyed it. They do charge an extra $2 or so for rice which we don't really like especially when it comes to plates that most people eat with rice. I feel as if that should be included into the plate and price of that plate. We have had many good food here and always look forward to coming back. (Same review by me on Google) read more

My son and I stopped by to put gas and just randomly wanted some Thai food. We looked up the closest Thai food to where we were putting gas and Thai Mango restaurant popped up. Appearance wise the restaurant was clean and Charlie who managed the cashier and the phone greeted us and is an awesome employee. Positive vibes, professional service, and always checked up on us to see if we needed anything. We ordered the Thai fried rice, pad Thai, and red curry, and also two side orders of white rice. For the price of each entrée the portions are a plate full. I would say good enough to feed Three people but definitely good enough to feed two. The fried rice had a good char from the cooking and the spices were flavorful. They had some side spices that gave each bite a little twist like the garlic vinegar, hot chili and some red pasty hot sauce. The pad Thai noodles were cooked to perfection and very saucy. Not that spicy but we did order mild for a touch of spiciness. The red curry was smack'n and the vegetables were fresh, tofu and chicken were on point. Again the portion size for the price is reasonable so no complaints. The phone kept ringing off the hook with to go orders so they have to be cooking something right. At the end of the meal I'm not sure if Charlie does this with all the customers but we got complimentary Thai tea. My son is a Thai tea fanatic and he says this thai tea is five out of five. At the end of the day the food is extremely tastful, flavorful, and will definitely have you coming back for more. The kapoon tasted good, just don't like the hard pieces of chicken breast. They add it later to the bowl after the broth, but it's so dry. The spring rolls were very light colored and it tasted a bit sour. I think it was made from ingredients that are not very fresh. They don't have cash which is ridiculous. Good texture, could have been a little spicer. Yummy side salad included, sweet surprise of a peanut sauce dressing. I will order a larger salad next time just for the dressing!
