I thought the first time was a fluke. There were a few new faces, so I wrote it off. This time I waited 15 minutes for a toasted bagel that I ended up canceling after asking about it twice because it was taking entirely too long while the employees enjoyed small talk, and again my drink tasted like dirt. Of course it's always nice to go to a chain and have something special happen and I have to say that happened for me today! Yes, this is a very nice Coffee Bean with plenty of room inside and out. Yes there's plenty of parking. Yes, the music is pretty decent. But what made my experience so great and I will never forget how kind Elias to me! I had a very complicated drink order and let's just say there was birthday wishes involved and he was so patient and sweet as was the while team. Did a quick stop to try out the new mango ice blended drink. It tasted like a mango creamsicle and ran a bit sweet for my taste but was nice to try it. This store had paper straw only so would recommend grabbing 2 straws if you are planning to let your drink sit for a while. The parking in this plaza is not the best so be prepared to wait for parking or park further. At the store, there are a few seating areas inside and outside. The plaza has other food options and outdoor seatings as well. Service was fast. Also Johnny was great and put in the happy hour discount code when I forgot. read more

I asked the barista for my regular (which I get at other coffee bean locations) and they said their machine doesnt make it. I told them an alternative way to make it by making two shots of espresso with added half way hot water and instead I got almost full hot water in the cup. The problem is when I asked the barista thats not what I wanted, they said "sorry misunderstanding, but thats what the order says" and didnt say sorry we can remake it for you. This is the worst coffee bean locations, and I have been to many with so many friendly barsitas but this is very low class with rude workers. read more

What's happening??? Everyone is grumpy, the decor feels like a cafeteria, you wouldn't let me order the tea I like and then you charge me $5 for a plain hot tea (yes, you charged me for a tea latte). I was so sad I didn't even complain. I asked if I could order the Pomegranate Blueberry tea, you said no... even though it's in a box behind me. I asked if I bought the box if you would give me a cup of hot water- "Yes, but you'll have to pay 25 cents for the hot water." When I used to buy boxes of tea you gave me a FREE TEA...NOT EVEN FROM MY BOX! Now I have to buy the tea and pay extra for a cup of hot water if I want that flavor???? This Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is really great. It is located in a cute strip mall with plenty of parking. The wait is not usually long and they get your order right the first time. All of their coffee and chilled items are great. I love their cookies and cream with a whipped cream top. I also enjoy their regular coffee. Their muffins are great. I don't care for their cheese cake but you may. The service is very nice and there is plenty of seating. Have fun. read more

So we ordered a box of dark coffee for our small office via a delivery service. Good coffee as per CBTL standards. They could have been courteous enough to provide us some cups and napkins. Friendly staff. They make the drinks unusually fast for a CBTL. Only issue is the wifi is absolutely terrible. I had to use cellular hotspot last three times, which is a deal breaker since I work remotely and need reliable wifi. They need to up their speed or optimize their wifi access points better. Either way, not an expensive fix. read more

All Coffee Beans offer the same menu, and the product is pretty consistent location to location. This is a newer store and a bit roomier than other locations - more square feet than the average location. Parking is very convenient here, and I like that all the spaces are full size spaces. The spaces are wide enough, so I'm not too worried about getting a door ding. Note that the Coffee Bean on Rosecrans, near the Bristol Farms, is now closed. read more

I love the new location of Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf! I will admit I've been there a 5 times in less than 2 weeks...gasp I know coffee crush! 4 out of the 5 times, they've been having a grand opening special. That's actually one of the things that I love about the store. They made their new presence known to the community and in a big way via some great deals and delicious drinks! From $2 holiday drinks to 50% off any drink on the menu, it sure was a great and tasty way to get my coffee fix. The new store is cute with plenty of seats inside and well lit. It's perfect for relaxing, reading or simply sipping and savoring your coffee or tea. This may just be my new favorite location. (One thing though to note is the parking- the parking does easily fill up and getting out can some times be a pain. You exit out to the main Manhattan Village street and it's often busy, so it can take awhile.) read more

Coffee Bean is life in my opinion. So every location does a good job in my opinion. I decided to order online from this location. I also decided to try their blended cookie butter drink. It was terrific. Thank goodness it wasn't as sweet as I was expecting it to be. It was perfect to be honest. This location is quick and prompt. The only complaint that I have is how my order was sitting in such a way that anyone could have grabbed it or if someone wanted to put something in my drink, it could have easily been done. I appreciate the staff being very prompt but what I would have appreciated even more is keeping my drink in their care until it's acknowledged that I've arrived to pick it up. read more

Personally, this spot has close to my ideal set-up for a corporate cafe: - Plenty of parking - Plenty of outlets, free wifi - Opens early and closes late - Good selection of sugar-free drink options - Adequate seating -- enough indoor seating for about 12 groups with a mix of 2-4 seat tables and couch/communal/counter seating -- plus a bunch of outdoor patio seats - Seats aren't too close together - A well-balanced, diverse crowd, so you're not surrounded by rowdy teens nor folks nursing a single cup of coffee all day and leeching the wifi You don't see the staff walking around too much. Which is a bit of a trade-off, since they leave you alone but the tables/trash bins are left uncleaned for quite some time. read more

This is my favorite coffee bean in the South Bay area to study! I love the vibe of this coffee bean and they have built-in plugs into the table where you can charge your laptop or phone. I have tried a lot of drinks at this coffee bean because I am a coffee and tea lover, but I really like the iced vanilla latte for coffee and the mango tea for tea. But with today it's been over 4x that I order Iced Hazelnut Americano and I get a Latte instead. I order on the app so I know it clearly says my drink. Wish that I could give zero stars. While preparing to drive a good distance my wife and I decided to stop by the Coffee Bean here because we heard that the coffee was organic. What a huge mistake! After standing there starring at the order menu and watching the barista at the ice machine laughing with a co worker, she finally makes her way out to the sales floor. She gave my wife a menacing look while asking did we need help. My wife told her that we were still ordering before we left in disappointment. Lovely newer location at the entryway to the Manhattan Beach Village Shopping area. Not a whole lot of parking but there's a group of spots servicing this CBTL and the Chili's. Staff were friendly and expedient. My drink was made correctly. The location is super clean with a lot of inside seating areas and workspace. The lady in front of me seemed like she had no idea what she was doing and it kind-of infuriated the barista...but I made a joke and it brightened her back up...can't linger on the stressful stuff... One thing I find about CBTL is that their sweetener / milk bar area is always stocked, as opposed to Sbux where you may have to beg for a drop of half and half. Lately I have notice that the local Starbuxes (even my favorite one) seem dirtier...might be the volume of customers or the lack of time to clean, stock, make drinks, etc...but CBTL's are cleaner, brighter, and handle the rushes better. Just my opinion...something to think about. read more

Have you ever wanted to have coffee with the three, cranky stooges? If so, come to this location. In all seriousness, great coffee served here but with the most unfriendly service. We ordered up front with Nelly who barely made eye contact with us, rushed us through our order, and had an attitude I am unfamiliar with seeing at a Coffee Bean location. I get it, if you're having a rough morning...but don't take that out on faithful customers. My usual Hazelnut Latte and Almond Croissant tasted divine. I just wish the environment was more inviting. The new remodeling and location is super sleek and open, but the poor customer service drives away college students like myself from ever considering studying here. Apart from the front woman, everyone else looked absolutely miserable here. I would highly recommend a refresher course for these workers on customer service. read more

Normally we love this place, the staff and their coffee. So, since we were at the mall yesterday we decided to stop to get a couple of lattes. As usual, the staff was welcoming and very friendly! We got our lattes very promptly and walked out to the car and drove off. Unfortunately, when we finally took a sip, we found the coffee had a very strong, almost burnt taste. It ended up being too much trouble to turn around to get them replaced. Unfortunately, we ended up having to throw them out. This is not our normal experience. I have been a loyal Coffee Bean customer for over 20 years, never once stepped into a Starbucks. LA County has lifted indoor mask mandates for vaccinated individuals and so I walked into this location without my mask to place an order. I was asked to put on a mask. In shock, I asked why when it is not required by local and state requirements and I was told it was company policy. I really loved how coffee bean always stood out as a non "corporate like" coffee shop even though it's a chain but with this move, I might as well go to a Big corporate location like Starbucks. Also, the irony- you have to wear a mask while ordering but not as you sip your beverage inside. Go figure read more

Covid- spread Alert Employees handled money then put their hand OVER the top of the cup rim to take it to the hot water or coffee dispenser. Tonight two different employees did this at the Manhattan Beach location. This is not their fault maybe so much as management not training them properly. Masks are of little use if we are potentially injesting the virus from the cup lip. This practice of being unsanitary with cups is wide spread..also seen at Mc Donalds and The Habit in Hermosa. I think that as customers we need to observe how a cup is handled and politely request a replacement if it the lip of the cup has been contaminated. read more

This is about the Coffee Bean & Tea in Manhattan Village. Last Sunday, I went into the store, I have been there at least once a week for the last 3 years. I asked , " may I please have a cup of water ?" . the manager replied, we charge 25cents for water. To my surprise , I asked as to when this started. The manager told me that Coffee Bean & Tea is trying to reduce carbon print. Then, I really got annoyed. Not because I am African American, because , Coffee Bean & Teal leaf does NOT even have a recycling blue trash can. They just have the black and all the plastic from the store is in the trash. The same manager who told me about the carbon foot print, is carrying the trash and dumping in the larger trash. Who is this guy fulling. No black man would believe his story of carbon foot print. Coffee bean does not even have one black employee in this store when in fact about 30% of their customers are black. You do not exist in vaccum Coffee bean. I love that this place is so close to the freeway and on two major streets. Off of Crenshaw and 182nd st. The only thing that I know is out of the place's control is that parking seems to always be an issue when I come here. Its your typical Coffee bean & Tea Leaf type of place. You can expect to get the same drinks, treats, and great service that most coffee bean locations give. The staff here has always been more then accommodating and sometimes I want to mix up my drink orders so I ask what do the recommend etc, and they usually surprise me with a specialty not on the menu drink. I love that! I tend to go towards the coffee side when I come here however I think I just might life the tea a lot more sometimes. When they have it brewed I get the peach green tea iced. Amazing, super refreshing and no sugar so you can really taste the peach in the green tea. The hours are your standard coffee shop and they have a pretty efficient drive thru. I was ordering a tea with the barista when another barista - probably the manager - told me they couldn't serve me because I had a dog. I said was only ordering a tea and leaving. She still refused to take my order. Keep in mind I was carrying my dog who is 5 pounds....and Literally just taking an order to go. I then suggested calling and ordering over the phone to pick up. Nice store, have been here some dozen times, simply because we live in Redondo & have a number of Starbucks & a few coffee beans much closer. Yet when we find ourselves in MB & feel like a good cup of coffee or cold beverage, this is a nice place to stop. Not the first to say, this store is fairly new, thinking maybe a year or so.
