This place has such a cozy vibe!! The first time I came here I got a seasonal latte which was amazing! Every time I'm in town I stop by, staff is so friendly and kind. Obsessed with the matcha here it is LITERALLY one of the best I've had. It was perfectly made and not overly sweet. The workers are all so nice and have the BEST ENERGY; everyone was super friendly and made the whole vibe feel so welcoming. You can tell they genuinely care about their guests. And don't get my started on whoever is on aux because every time I walk in... LITERALLY goes with whatever the vibes are that day. I've only been here a couple of times, and both times I ordered a cappuccino. It was honestly one of the best cappuccinos I've ever had. The coffee was smooth, flavorful, and perfectly balanced - not bitter and not acidic. The atmosphere feels modern and youthful. Most of the people seem to be students or young professionals working on their laptops, or small groups of friends meeting over coffee. The service was good. The coffee here tastes like jet fuel, it's super acidic and tastes low quality. To avoid the terrible coffee I've tried ordering their other drinks, but they've messed up my order a few times, and while I appreciate the offer to remake it, I can't afford to be 15 mins or 30 mins late to something because they take so long. This coffee shop is close to my apartment and I have come here a couple times to work. I always get the teas here and everytime, they have been standard. The service is fast and the baristas are super friendly. The noise level is more on the louder side since there are many people here. Even though it is louder than I would like, I love that most people are here to work. It makes it so much easier to get my own work done. However, somtimes it is hard to get a seat inside since there are a lot of people, so I would recommend coming here earlier to claim your spot. It is also a bit hot in this coffee shop since there is a lot of natural light (which I LOVE), but I don't mind it too much! This is a great coffee shop to lock in and get work done. read more

Being in a strip mall is a certain win as it meant dedicated parking spaces and yes it's free! Also IYKYK, strip mall around this area was typically coming in decent size and so did the parking. Well-lit venue, plenty of seats and even abundant plugs. As expected, you could see tons of guests were studying and working. Not few even came in bigger group. Not realizing that they provided detailed version of the menu, I initially was thrown off looking at the wall menu as most of the names weren't familiar. Thanks to the helpful attendant, making me going for what she said as one of their favorites; the latte served with honey, vanilla, and cinnamon - called as miel. Being the specialist in beans as well, no doubt the coffee was of great quality. One tip, if you weren't that much into sweet, you might wanna customize it and request for less sweet. read more

There were a number of positives about visiting Pure Bean coffee today. It's a very well designed space. Spacious but not overly so. Numerous four person tables with chairs. A very nice long elevated table with lots of comfortable stools (that are way too noisy to move around, unless you pick them up). A barista that creates extremely impressive latte art (I mean seriously impressive). A very nice selection of branded merch, including the legendary Airscape coffee storage canisters (everyone should have at least one of these). AND to top it all off, an extremely extensive variety of well sourced coffee beans (including numerous single origins). The service was excellent, everyone was nice. The coffee was very good too. Pure Bean also boasts a very high tech roasting process known as Air Roasting. Honestly, the only negative thing about Pure Bean was their single origin decaf that is processed using the so called "natural" sugar cane method (IYKYK). I really can't understand why a coffee roaster who would go to such great lengths to do so many things so right, would use anything less than the "Swiss Water Process" to create their decaf. read more

Popped in today for the first time and the Cafe and its open space were very appealing.I saw people working on their laptops inside snd a group of women chatting at their outside table. We were greeted when we walked in and the Barista did a really good job at explaining and highlighting what drinks there offer. However, my review is purely on the coffee, which is what we're paying for after all. My friend and I thought the drinks were very mediocre. We ordered seasonal drinks, the French Toast Chai Latte & the blueberry coffee (cannot the remember name). Four shots of espresso, and I'm sorry, but we were not tasting it. My drink did not taste like French toast at all and her drink did have that nice blueberry touch but still lackluster. I ordered a London Fog which was disgusting it tasted like watered down milk with sugar. Paid over 7 bucks and gave a two dollar tip before I got my drink. Staff was chatty no one bothered to let me know my drink was ready and I was sitting at the counter. I saw a drink and was looking at it the guy said are you waiting for something I said a LF to which he didnt even look at me and said thats it. I found the ambiance to be Uppity and presumptuous. Feels like a promising place where they have a good variety of high quality beans. For the time I visited, my friend ordered a latte and I ordered a honey lavender latte. My drink was good where the coffee and sweetener was well balanced. It wasn't too bitter and not overly sweet. My friend's latte was unfortunately under extracted so it ended up more sour. This place opened about 3 years ago and I haven't been around in a few years and I think I found my new Favorite place for Coffee but I don't come to the beach our here anymore and it is far away.... Anyhow I really did find my new favorite place for coffee now to make excuses to come out this far for a good cup of coffee.... I ordered a Pour Over Drip with what they called a true light roast...FYI they roast their own beans in Idyllwild which is quite the distance from this location. Basically it was the Ethiopia bag I took a pic of....It's actually hard to find a lot of coffee shops that do a light roast nowadays most go with a medium to light or medium to dark roast.... BEN is the one who did my pour over and I spoke to him a really cool guy who knew a good amount about the beans and coffee and what he enjoyed as well....overall he was quite knowledgeable and I feel he loves coffee! The layout is pretty spacious and clean i sat next to the baristas because they were somewhat busy when I got there....but it's okay.... They had the cutest drink names ever! It was named after famous celebrities. My sister and I both got the Gwen Stefani, which has espresso, banana milk & organic chocolate sauce. It was pretty good! I do wish there was a stronger banana flavor, but it was still tasty. It also wasn't overly sweet which I appreciated. Workers were so nice and helpful. this is my FAVORITE coffee shop in Manhattan Beach, one of the best in LA! The baristas are the sweetest and it's a cozy and spacious cafe with lots of seating (but busy!) The coffee is roasted perfectly to my liking - the drip coffee was soothing, not bitter or sour. Cardigan latte is delightful - hints of cardamom, vanilla and the addition of sea salt is perfection! Great coffee quality, amazing creamy hot steamed milk, good variety and comfy lounge and study spots. Coffee: * Lavender latte with espresso & Oatmilk (~$7.50) - delightfully impressed with this option. one of my favorite Lavender + espresso latte. Lavender is subtle and well blended. Oatmilk was still very creamy. Putting it In a togo paper cup caused the milk to separate and made the hot steamed milk lose its layer and texture. Must drink it in the store!! Thankfully not too sweet. Would get this again. Next time I wouldn't mind getting 75% or 50% sweetness even though it was perfect just the way it was. * cappuccino (~$5) - despite not "looking" like a good cap and despite the milk looking more foamy than creamy, this cap still had amazing layers and creamy textures. Coffee was well balanced and had a smooth gorgeous bitter and no sour note to it. A more mild and well blended instead of bold espresso. Pouring it into a paper to go cup made it just taste like any ol average cap. After McDonalds, I decided to try this newer coffeeshop out. It's kind of hard to find and on the small side. Theres a large bench to sit outside but no tables and chairs outside. The interior is kind of small and awkward. I only got a juice drink and thought it was way overpriced at $9 when a comparable drink is only $5 at Starbucks. Just discovered Pure Bean and I will definitely be coming back. Ordered the white tea and it was delicious. Surprisingly had a subtle hint of sweetness for a drink that was only tea, and nice floral quality to it. Staff were all nice, friendly and welcoming. My favorite part though is definitely the ability to use Pure Bean as a remote working space. They have ample electrical plugs for you to use, they also have soft comfortable seating, and there is plenty of space inside the shop. The cafe is also inside a plaza with tons of parking. read more
