As a consistent customer of smoky hollow, I'm really disappointed with my recent visits to this coffee shop. The customer service has noticeably gone downhill. One of the employees in particular has been consistently unpleasant, making the experience feel unwelcoming the moment you walk in. Simple questions or requests are met with attitude instead of courtesy. From the long wait times to the employee taking a nap on the sofa, there has generally been a decline in the customer service in this establishment. On top of that, the quality of the drinks has declined. The espresso is clearly burnt and orders have been inconsistent, poorly made, and definitely not worth the price anymore. This used to be one of my favorite spots, but the combination of rude service and declining drink quality makes it hard to justify coming back. I hope management addresses these issues soon. read more

When I can't make my lattes at home or when I don't meal prep...this is my go-to This place is quick and convenient. It's seems to be 3 consistent staff members that work here, 2 men and a woman...They are very friendly and always playing good music. I do have to say, they seem to giving "millennial/ Gen X vibes". The woman 90% of the time her face is in her phone, most times she doesn't notice people approaching or even when their standing in front of her. But she seems to be getting better at looking up. As long as my order is correct, I really don't if she is on her phone or not. It's always clean and never a line when I come in. There are plenty of places to sit and work if needed. I usually get my two favorites: California Street and A Chi Latte with oat milk. I am in love with the California Street bagel sandwich, always made when ordered and always hits the spot. If your allergic to dogs, please be aware that people will bring their animals in there and some can be aggressive. read more

UPDATE! I was really torn about this write up. I haven't been here in a bit, but I had a taste for their iced matcha latte as well as a breakfast of sort. So, I get here, no other customers but me. Didn't see a worker either, so for a sec there, I thought they were closed. But a gentleman came from nowhere and took my order. (There was another worker restocking behind the counter. Didn't know she was there until she stood up. She was never aware I was there.) Put in the two orders and waited patiently. I was approached later by the same guy who took my order saying they couldn't build the burrito because they were out of tortillas. He offered to make it a sandwich instead. Eh, sure, why not. Got my drink first. Disappointing. I asked for an iced matcha latte. It was barely iced. And it was oddly grainy. I highly doubt it was even mixed. This might have been the laziest version I have ever had from any cafe or coffee shop hands down. Heck, if lazy had a taste, this might just be it. No bueno. But that disappointment was overshadowed by how great the sandwich is. They were generous with the amount of bacon, scrambled eggs and all other trimmings. The salsa upped each bite to a better level. It was too much for one sitting, so I saved the other half for a second meal. Very bueno. FOOD (and DRINK): 3.5. (5 for the sandwich, 2 for the drink.) SERVICE: 2. I stood at the counter for at least a couple of minutes and no sign of staff. (I couldn't see the lady stocking up stuff behind the counter.) If that other worker didn't show up when he did, I prolly woulda walked out. Staff should always be on the lookout. And as good as the sammich is, the wait was longer than I anticipated. Good thing no other peeps were ahead of me. VALUE. 3.5. The sandwich is the saving grace. PARKING: 15 minute parking spots available. OVERALL: 3. Down one star. At least not a one and done. Other than conveniently located in my office building, this coffee shop is the worst. I've been going here daily for over a year...so I say this with some level of experience. The coffee isn't that great. Neither is anything coming out of that kitchen. Any why can't this place keep their area behind the glass clean and organized? It's so messy back there. The WORST is the service. Just bad all around. This sentiment is shared by most of the people in my office. Ordered smoothie online. And went to pick it up after 20 minutes. Waited at the pickup counter for another 15 minutes and finally asked them what's the holdup. The manager said they ran out of bananas so the order was refunded. I told them I did not receive any refund/cancel notifications, and they respond with "yea we don't do that but we should put a system in place...". Seriously, WTF. This is a coffee shop in an office building. People don't have time to wait around for over 30 minutes for a drink and over an hour for their food. And how do you run out of bananas on a Monday at noon?!! This was not the first time you see the staff just sitting around. Get your shit together and don't waste our time. read more

I work in the building and like to come down to the coffee shop for a drink most days (the lovely baristas really know what they're doing with that AMAZING Spanish latte). Sometimes I'll buy lunch when I forget to bring my own. The menu recently changed and I just want to say... PLEASE bring back some of the old sandwich options. My go to was their simple, yet delicious, turkey sandwich. It was the perfect amount of ingredients, enough to make me feel satisfied but not enough to make me fall flat asleep in a food coma at my desk afterwards. Their new menu, at least the sandwiches, is mostly made up of the heaviest and loaded items I've seen in a corporate coffee shop. I love this place, but know your audience. I'm not here on a food tour, I'm here for a pick me up during a long day, not a sandwich hangover. read more

Me and my wife stopped by Smoky Hollow, and really enjoyed their drinks! The cashiers were kind, explaining their menu to us, and we got our drinks quickly! Their cold foam is made to order, so it can include any flavor which is a nice addition. The store is in a business complex, and Google Maps will likely lead you to a paid parking lot. I had to pay $5 for parking, but I do believe there are some temporary spaces on the other side of the complex which I'll try next time! read more

Nice place to hangout for a refreshing coffee and very close from your busy office. This place happens to be on the first floor of my workplace building. Plenty of comfortable seating inside and outside the place. Very well lit, bright and feels like a cool place to sit and work if you want a refreshing break from your cubicle at the office. I tried the chai tea latte and it had the right amount of flavor. It will little bit on the sweeter side, may be I should ask for less sugar/sweet next time. read more

This industrial area has very few options, so Smoky Hollow is a convenient spot for your afternoon caffeine pick me up. They have a large menu of cafe favorites like coffee, lattes and matcha along with fruit smoothies. They also have a large food menu. Service was very quick and we were in and out in a flash! Really appreciate that for a busy work day. read more

Yelp asked - "Do you recommend this business?" I answered - "Yes" I wish Yelp had a Yesss, Yaaasss, Hell Yes or even better -a HEOYEAH!!! Food is great here. Coffee is superb. Staff is very nice and helpful. A welcomed site in a great area to work but a lil short on eateries within walking distance. I had the house coffee, cherry pastry and last but certainly not least, the Breakfast Sandwich on a pretzel bun. Bun was so tasty and soft, packed full of goodness. Avo, eggs, tomatoes, cheese. I could go in and on. I couldn't think of what else could be added to make it better. Pastries are great quality and fresh. Best if all tastes great. I would leave zero stars if I could. The cashier and barista (Indian lady) was rude. I visited to grab coffee during lunchtime. (around 12:30 September 19, 2023) I understand that lunchtime is the busiest time in the cafe. However, my coffee still hadn't arrived even after 20 minutes, so I asked for a refund. The lady displayed extremely rude behavior by throwing the cup lid bag she was holding and slamming the refrigerator shut. The behavior I witnessed while waiting was that she was saying 'What the fuck' to herself and working with a displeased expression on her face the whole time. Don't go here. I walked 15 minutes from my hotel two different times to get coffee here. Both times during their "open hours" and both times they wouldn't serve me because they were preparing a large catering order. Complete over priced and service sucks. Not worth it at all. I went for the first time and ordered a pesto sandwich which by the way was not worth the $13 plus dollars. AND took 15 minutes to prepare THEN waited an additional 5 minutes waiting for it as it sat on their counter with no regard to announce that it was ready. read more

WHAT A DISAPPOINTING AND HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. The coffee shop atmosphere was nice BUT the cashier who is an Indian lady was extremely rude. I experienced the worst things while I was waiting for coffee. I understand right after lunch is the peak time for the coffee shop. But I don't understand the staff's attitude toward the customers. I had to hear the "F" word, thousands of sighs, and had to deal with the staff who had the most annoyed face because she was busy.
