I kept hearing rave reviews about this Coffee Bean from a few coworkers, so I finally had to give it a try--and I'm glad I did! I visited twice last week, once for coffee and once for coffee and bagels. Everything I ordered was delicious, and the pricing was very reasonable. When you walk in, the atmosphere gives off a Peet's Coffee vibe--cozy, modern, and relaxed. The service was friendly both times, which made the experience even better. I'm planning to use their app next time to make things even more convenient. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that they allow homeless individuals to sleep inside the shop. While I understand the compassion behind it, it does mean that seating can be limited for paying customers, especially during busy times. Overall, I'll definitely be back--whether I'm grabbing something on the go or have a moment to sit and enjoy. A great spot in downtown Riverside! read more

The coffee was decent--smooth and not too bitter--but the overall vibe wasn't very friendly. Staff didn't seem too welcoming, which made the experience feel a bit rushed. Also, they only offer two drink sizes, which felt limiting, and I was disappointed they didn't have vanilla cold foam (kind of a staple at most coffee spots now). Not a bad place if you're just grabbing a quick coffee, but not my first pick for a relaxed coffee shop experience. read more

My friends and I had never been to this location before but, we were in the area for an event and a couple of us wanted a snack and a drink. We did not realize that it was about a half an hour before closing (8pm). So, we waited in line and I had to go to the restroom. I decided to attempt to go so that I would not hold up the group. I started walking toward the restroom and right at the corner there was a female security guard. I said, "The restroom is this way? and she replied in an unfriendly, stern way, "It's already closed." I thought, "Wow, ok." So, I walked back over to the group and told them. They were just as surprised as I was to be told that the restroom was already closed. One of the people with me finally made it up to the counter to order and she told the person what she wanted. But, the employee (it was not said nicely) told her that the oven was already off. She was like, "What, it's already off?" The employee said, "Yes, we have to turn it off 30 minutes before we close, or it will not be cool by closing." So, we waited in line all that time for nothing and they were not nice and did not let us know before waiting in line. I am glad that I am not from this area so that I do not n have come to this location. We definitely regretted coming here! read more

Our usual stop whenever we are nearby but today I was pretty pissed when they kicked me and my son out after sitting inside for only 10mins and having ordered 2 drinks and food. I understand the Festival of Lights is nearby and maybe they are trying to minimize people just sitting inside but we were customers. Why bother though? Maybe they can put signs that says customers only like other places. I don't think kicking us out was necessary especially when I'm with my young son. read more

It was early morning and no one was there I order a Cappuccino and a chocolate croissant, the croissant was a pretty nice size and it tasted good. It was nice and flaky.. surprisingly the Cappuccino had a good taste as well. It wasn't water down but had a nice strong taste to it.. as it should.. the service was nice , helpful girl taking my order and was polite. No star should be given. About 30 minutes ago, I went in to order a couple totes of coffee for a staff meeting. I stood at the register as 3 employees and 2 men talked. The 2 men seemed to be from Coffee Bean's office/headquarters or maybe building management. No one acknowledged me or said we'll be right with you. No customers standing around waiting for their orders. The only customers were sitting at a table. So, I waited and waited. Then I left and went to the coffee place down the block. a few things to consider employees Honesty it's a MUST I bought a small black coffee paid with a $20 coffee was $2.95 female employee gave me $12.25 cents back told she will be back that she will go get change and I proceeded to the where they serve the coffee she came back take in consideration I was the only customer at that time well she came back just acted as she forgot to be honest she just went on about cleaning, but i did mentioned to the manager just so he knows future employees generations to teach them to be honest I could have give her that as tip but she kept it bottom line you might say it's only $5 but the moral of the story here is honesty and that is what matters and counts to me as a customer. with that being said she knows who she is lesson learned. read more

There have been a few times that I've come to this location and asked for recommendations. I genuinely appreciate that the staff here know what their drinks taste like and can make good suggestions based on your input. It goes without saying that a staff that will take the time to consider which drink you'd enjoy is also the type of staff that is friendly and polite. The location of this Coffee Bean is in such a perfect area. They have outdoor seating as well as an indoor cafe area. The inside can get a little crowded - especially during the festival of lights in December, but that's why the outdoor seating is a necessity. Weird point, but I love that it's always so cold in here. Super welcome during the summer months, but I can see how some would be surprised by how cold it can get. Bring a sweater and you're golden. read more

I really liked the big open courtyard seating and service inside was swift and professional. This is a great respite when visiting The Mission Inn area as that plaza is very pedestrian friendly. Restrooms are way back behind but dont forget to ask for the key. By the way that key was soaking wet when it was handed to me. Yuk! read more

Been coming here since 2006 when I started working at the state bldg! The staff is very pleasant welcoming and professional. The manager is great! What stood out most wasn't just the lack of hospitality, but the overall attitude from multiple staff members. The environment felt cold, dismissive, and inconvenienced by customers being there at all. Ironically, the café advertises community classes like yoga and live meditation classes on the window, yet basic customer service and professionalism seem completely absent. The food itself was fine, which is why this review is specifically about the service experience. Even after how poorly we were treated, I still left a tip because I refuse to match that level of disrespect. Management seriously needs to address the customer service culture here. I've been here a few times and it never fails to amaze me…read more The owner Gilbert is a great guy super friendly and willing to take time to get to know his customers. They have great doughnuts. My wife loves the cheese cake blueberry one. In fact today leah (forgive me if I spelt your name wrong) made one from scratch after I had said my wife loves them. I'm not even a big doughnut person and I can say they are really good. Better than any run of the mill yum yums or krispy kreme. There aren't many mom & pop stores like this in riverside and it's great to see places like this opening and staying in business like this for over 6 years now. I personally love their coffee! My go to is a caramel macchiato. My wife has worked in countless coffee shops & even she thinks it's great. The espresso they use is amazing. The place is really clean and has a very chic atmosphere. I wish i took pictures but it has a really nice outside patio area. And they even serve alcohol. There is to much to say so i'll stop here.

When a place posts all these fun, pretty options online, you kind of expect at least some of that energy when you walk in and it wasn't really there. Maybe I caught them on an off morning, but for now, it's a 2-star experience for some overpriced donuts

The interior is beautifully designed, while a mix of pop and instrumental music plays softly in the background, adding to the calm and relaxing ambiance. The space appears to accommodate around 20 to 30 guests indoor. They also accommodate limited outdoor seating. The owner and staff were very friendly. They gave us a warm welcome. We ordered one Pistachio Latte, one Spanish Latte, one Banana Nut Loaf, and one Chicken Caprese Sandwich. Their service was fast, and we got our drinks and pastry within a very short period of time. The drinks and pastry were exceptional - expertly baked and made with perfection. Their Pistachio Latte and Spanish Latte were undoubtedly one of the best in Inland Empire. The Chicken Caprese Sandwich was good but could have been better. And last but not least, the Banana Nut Loaf was so good and way better than the Banana, Walnut & Pecan Loaf at Starbucks! We enjoyed the food as well as hospitality very much. Our overall experience was pretty amazing. A great place for the Coffee lovers. Many thanks once again for their food and hospitality. We'll definitely be coming back in the near future to try more of their drinks and pastries.
