First time at the Coffee Cup Café while visiting family. We came on a Saturday morning and were able to get a table right away for our party of six. Our server, Domenic, was helpful and funny, also, very attentive! The menu is quite extensive! First, we opted for the green chili burger only with the fried chicken breast. This dish was delicious! The chicken breast was cooked perfectly and the green chili is mild but so flavorful. We also tried the Manly Marine Meal; this platter of food is very big! It comes with pancakes, eggs, bacon and sausage plus country fries and toast. We got this and had our children share it! The eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and goat cheese is to die for! Fresh, smoked salmon they get locally and it is some of the best we've tasted! Lastly, we just had to try the crepes that were recommended to us by the staff. We only wanted one and I'm glad we did, they are huge! A somewhat large pancake filled with berry cream cheese rolled up with whipped cream on top; so good! This restaurant is clean, the staff is very friendly, the bathrooms are kept up and the friendly folks from town make this a special spot for locals. Would definitely go back! read more

I want to love this place and I usually never complain. I was a waitress for years and I know it can be tough. The atmosphere and the food are pretty great. But this is the fourth time in a row I have had really horrible service. A lot of younger wait staff standing around and not tending to the customers. No condiments offered. No refills even when we asked. Over all just really poor attitudes. We had to ask three or four time to get anything. Our bill was never brought to us. It was not busy at all. Maybe a manager or an adult presence would help the service? We won't be back. :( read more

Visited my family this past weekend, I made sure to tell them I didn't wanna eat anywhere that could be found in California! They brought me here, about 45 minutes from their actual city, just to see if I liked it.. & if I must say, I enjoyed it all! The waiters & waitresses are the younger crowd. Ya know, high school teens looking to make money all summer? VERY FRIENDLY and never seemed tired or irritated (big impressions on me). THE restaurant to me is decent in size with enough room in between tables.. it was fairly crowded when we arrived, around 10am, but we were seated quickly & had our coffees placed within 5 minutes of entering the door THE FOOD: I ordered your basic breakfast plate; chocolate chip ($0.99 extra) pancakes, fried eggs & a sausage patty. The pancakes were GINORMOUS, wonderfully fluffy with that homemade batter taste, plus my eggs were cooked to my liking! My auntie ordered the crab avocado omelet, my cuzzin the veggie omelet I believe? We all shared & everything was yummy. When I visit Colorado again, I'll be sure to be back here read more

We went here hoping to find a new breakfast place based on all the good reviews and were sorely disappointed. Service: Food took almost 30 min to come out. The server never asked us how everything tasted and only stopped by the table maybe 3 or 4 times during our entire time there. Food: I ordered the philly skillet and it tasted like there was absolutely no seasoning on it. Bland potatoes, under cooked onions and peppers, and the steak was dry and flavorless. Not even salt. My husband ordered the build your own skillet and we were charged for cheddar cheese that wasn't put on it. The green chili was flavorless, and tasted like cheap canned chili. Value: For over $30 I expect much more. It was rather expensive for flavorless food and mediocre service. We will not be going back. read more

Really is the best breakfast in town! Recommended to us by a local, we weren't disappointed. The Denver scrambler was really delicious, and the coffee (they serve Seranno's, a local coffee) was delightful!!! I had three cups and took one to go... The atmosphere is bustling and homey. I couldn't figure out the organization of the joint, but the servers made a great team and took care of all of their customers well. Will return next time we visit! read more

Ate here for the first time yesterday and it was really great! Our server was VERY nice and on top of everything. I ordered the chorizo sausage breakfast burrito and it was AWESOME! My love for Monument folk needed no boost, but this establishment and its eclectic, varied array of sweet personalities offered one anyway. I was out looking for Dirty Woman Park to see if it lived up to its name (spoiler: nope), and stopped in for a quick cup of joe to go. Walked past "this is not a greasy spoon" signs and thought "well you know what that means" until I entered the building. The smells that greeted me were intoxicating and made me wish we were staying for breakfast. I got immediate smiles and nodes from patrons crowding the place, from the teens to the older mountaineers at the bar. I gave the young lady seating guests my order and she poured and capped it right away. And didn't charge me! Even if the coffee isn't anything to write home about, there are ways to impress me, and then there is giving me free stuff. That ruled. read more

We visited this Cafe on a sunny and cool Saturday morning around 8:30 and found it bustling. Lots of families and couples but they had room for us. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly and we went with his recommendations once we narrowed down our choices. The Huevos potatoes were fine, filling and tasty and the green chili was homemade. No problem getting fresh decaf that early. The Fresh squeezed OJ was tasty. There are a variety of skillets available and we tried the Philly skillet. It is very generously sized but served in a skillet versus cooked in one so the temperature of the food could have been a bit warmer. The biscuit was tasty and warm, though we like ours a little flakier. The menu makes it easy to be gluten free, the service is prompt, the tables and floors and restrooms are clean and there were multiple things we would order so we'll have to go back! I have given this place two chances. Once for breakfast which was disappointing and then for lunch which was even worse. The philly sandwich looked like it had been sitting out and the fries were cold and soggy. I sent my crab sandwich back because it tasted so bad. I replaced it with a grilled cheese that had American cheese on only half the bread. For breakfast, stay home. For lunch, go to Back East Bar and Grill instead. read more

We love to hike with our dogs at Mount Herman and also need to fuel up before or after hiking and the Coffee Cup Cafe in Monument, CO not only fuels you up but also offers one of the best breakfast and burgers in town! The Coffee Cup is large and sunny with friendly servers (although service can be slow when they are busy) and I love the menu printed out like an old newspaper. The breakfast offerings are vast and include everything from burritos (which are huge and wonderful when smothered with green chile!) to eggs benedict, omelets, skillets, biscuits and gravy, pancakes and french toast. Every time we pop in it is always a chore to decide what to have! We have yet to be disapointed. Today we decided on doing breakfast and lunch. For breakfast we ordered the chicken fried chicken plate with scrambled eggs, their wonderful potatoes, chicken fried chicken in cream gravy and sourdough toast. I will just say he ate every bite! The gravy is the old fashioned, homemade cream style gravy and the chicken fried chicken was tender and crispy. The potatoes are chunks of red potatoes cooked on the flat top and are a great combination of crispy and soft...just how I like my potatoes. This is a fill you up, stick to your ribs plate....while not the best we have ever had it was above average. I have to say that the Breakfast Burger is one of the best in the springs. A patty cooked to order topped with sausage, bacon (which was perfectly crispy!) and ham and a perfectly cooked over-medium egg that popped with my first bite. It is a mouthful and I had plenty left to share with the pups for waiting patiently while we ate! I chose the skillet potatoes over the fries as I am not a huge fan of thin fries. When the weather is warm we like to sit outside on the little porch with the dogs and they always bring us water and will cook a patty up just for the them. read more

I'm am disgusted with the service. They were acting unprofessional and poorly trained. I truly have not dealt with service this bad anywhere else I have gone. I had a meeting today and they had to split us up, so we had to speak a little louder to talk to the other table, this defeats the purpose of a meeting. The waitress came up to us in a rude way "keep it down! We have other people here!" I would've understood if she were kinder and more professional, but she wasn't. Then we proceeded to wait 40 minutes to get our order taken, I was hungry and getting angry, so when we were checking out I put on my receipt "sad about service" with a sad face. Some of my other coworkers were there after I left, the waitress proceeded to tell them that "you are banned because someone left a nasty message." When all I said was sad service, I'm so upset because this is where I grew up, and the fact they are hiring awful, unprofessional people disgusts me. I'm sad to say but I will not be returning, nor should you. The quality, the respect, and the food went down hill. Disappointed in all aspects. The costumers should be mutually respected. And I was not. They also proceeded to say we were banned because of the note, and we didn't tip enough. Apparently we didn't give them enough money for the poor service. Loved the friendly, homey feel of this place! Nothing flashy, but the food was really yummy! I had the corned beef hash, and it was the tastiest hash I've had in CO so far - super flavorful and really good portions. They were willing to make a few substitutions for us, too, without ridiculous up charges (sub fruit for toast on mine and for bacon on my son's - I have to eat dairy-free and we don't eat cured meats). Always appreciated! I do wish they'd use more local, organic ingredients instead of getting their meat products from Sysco (I asked, even the bacon has nitrites...), but otherwise, everything was excellent. read more

This cafe is in a cute run of 'old west' shops with tons of character and style; the cafe not so much but a bit run-down. Had brunch with sister and daughter on a weekday. Wasn't busy but young servers seemed to forget us after we had a few initial questions, and we had to flag them down "vigorously" to take our order. Also saw them joking about us after we'd asked if they had brioche for french toast? Had to ask twice for hot water refill for tea...french toast was regular bread, flat taste, and eggs that were ordered poached came "basted" but overdone for that (crispy edges and semi-hard yolks, folks).
