My husband and I have been eating here since at least 2021 and have raved to all of our friends and family about how fantastic the cocktails and the food are here. We always bring family here for a nice dinner night when they visit from out of town, and it has been consistent since 2021 until Thursday, August 27th. We always order the same drinks, as they are our favorite. I enjoy the Limoncello Drop, and my husband always gets the Bloody Mary. I order mine with raspberry-infused vodka, and my husband gets the jalapeño-infused. His is always spicy, but flavorful. Mine is always tart and sweet. This time was different. Mine was just sweet and had a dried citrus slice floating in it, which is not how it has ever been served. My husband's Bloody Mary had a wooden stick in it and no garnish. There has never been a floating garnish in my drink, and the Bloody Mary has always come with a garnish. Sometimes it is roasted garlic, green olives, and lime. Sometimes an herb sprig and jalapeño slice; another time was garlic, jalapeño, lime, and rosemary sprig. It has never come without the care of a garnish. Additionally, his cocktail tasted terrible. It was just hot. No flavor, just hot and off-tasting. He sent it back, and later the bartender came by to apologize and said the lime juice was off and they had replaced it. He offered a new drink, which my husband declined. For dinner, we shared the Puget Sound Steamers, and for the first time the broth was bland. We usually sop up as much as we can with the bread, but it was just flavorless. I was not able to order my usual dinner selection of the Alaskan Chowder because they were out, which has never happened before, but it was not a huge deal, so I chose the Caprese Salad instead, and it was okay. My husband ordered the Rustic Mac + Cheese; we have both ordered this many times, and it has always been delicious except for this night. It tasted off too, very pasty. Almost as if the flour had not been cooked enough in the béchamel, or perhaps too much flour? It was so bland and pasty that it was sent back, too. When we spoke to the server about the mac + cheese and that it tasted like uncooked or pasty flour, she said there was no flour in it, only cheese. The menu describes the dish as a creamy béchamel, which is a flour-based sauce, so her answer surprised me. I did not press it. Sending food back is not something we enjoy doing, and we left disappointed. We were not charged for the returned items, and we appreciated that. My husband declined a replacement, so he ended up with no dinner, and we stopped somewhere else on the way home. Something was different across both the bar and the kitchen that night. I hope it was a one-off, because five years of consistency earned this place a lot of goodwill with us. At these prices, we expect more, and my husband is reluctant to go back.

I would love to see more Georgian food and drink on the menu, like dumplings, kubdari, kharcho, achma maybe, a real qababi to go with the plov... and how about a chacha- based cocktail? The tables and cues can be somewhat unkempt. We had to hunt considerably for straight cues with good tips, and brush our table free of debris. Tip: opt for a table further from the front entrance, for better equipment selection. This part of the experience needs improvement, but should be an easy fix. The music can be too loud and, frankly, too much of one genre. I feel they are trying to ride a line between nightclub and pool hall, to attract younger clientele. This may be tough on players that need relative quiet to concentrate. All and all, a fun time. I cannot say that it is a "clean" hall, either figuratively or literally, but I can say that at least at this point in time, it's still approachable to those just looking for a drink and a nibble while shooting a game or two with friends, with minimum drama. The wings are very meaty, and plump - nothing like Wingstop. It's ruined almost every wing restaurant / chain for me. They require a minimum of 8 wings per flavor, so if you come with a big group you can mix and match flavors easily. My top two flavors: hot (buffalo) and the dry rub lemon pepper. Service is alright. You seat your self (if there is a table open). On busy days, you just fight for a table. I wish they implemented some form of queue or paper on which party is next. Tables just get wiped down with a rag. But the price / quality for the wings makes me come back every time.

During dart season, I was here at least twice a week. However, after moving about half a mile away in December 2025, I started coming even more, sometimes three or four times a week, usually Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and the occasional Saturday. I genuinely considered myself a regular. Unfortunately, there's one small problem: apparently I'm a regular who has achieved invisibility. Unless Jackie B is working, getting the attention of the bar staff can sometimes feel like trying to communicate with a satellite. Jackie B has always been the highlight for me, she actually sees the customers, takes care of people, and somehow manages to notice that humans are sitting down in the dart area. Every time Jackie B is working, the experience is noticeably better. The service in the dart area can otherwise be extremely hit-or-miss, particularly during the day. If you're shooting darts, you may want to bring a flare gun, smoke signal, or possibly a small flag. There seems to be a mysterious service blind spot, especially around the first few tables near the smoking area. But honestly, the biggest disappointment for me has been the removal of the Medalist dart boards. When Cactus Moon got rid of them, it didn't just mean losing a couple of dart boards. It left several of us regular dart players without a home bar with no explanation from anybody at Cactus Moon. And unfortunately, many of my Medalist dart partners simply stopped coming to Cactus Moon altogether. We had a group, a routine, and a place where we played. Suddenly, we didn't. It was honestly embarrassing to be left scrambling for somewhere else to play after years of treating Cactus Moon as our home. For a group of regular customers who had invested that much time and money into the bar, it felt like being politely evicted from your own clubhouse. And that's the frustrating part: Cactus Moon used to be my favorite bar. I even chose my apartment partly because I was so close to it. There are still plenty of things I like about the place. The food is genuinely good. The Wednesday and Thursday half-price burgers are a great deal, and the Thursday night wing specials are worth showing up for. And the Friday-night prime rib is really darn good. If you come here hungry, order something--I've had consistently good food. Then there's today, 8/30/26. I came in for breakfast and darts, fully prepared to spend some money at a place I've supported for years. After 94 minutes and two drinks, I finally gave up on breakfast and went somewhere else to eat. It was nearly 30 minutes between receiving my second drink and finally asking for my tab so I could take my business elsewhere. I understand that bars get busy, staffing can be difficult, and sometimes service falls through the cracks. Today was not one of those days. When you're coming in three or four times a week, tipping well, and spending a lot of time there, repeatedly feeling invisible gets old. At this point, I'm pretty sure I've reached a level of invisibility normally reserved for ghosts. The irony is that I'll probably still be back. It's the only dart bar around, and I'll likely show up for the Friday dart tournament in the near future. I just may be bringing my wallet along strictly for moral support. Cactus Moon, I really do want to like you again. Please find your dart players, and maybe find me while you're at it.
