The list of flavors at this snoball stand is amazing... however, I am a creme flavor kind of gal, and there are only 3 of those to choose from. Personal favorite? Pink Panther. In fact, I recently got adventurous and decided to stuff my pink panther.. with ice cream. Delightful. Prices are cheap. $1.50 gets you a reasonably large snoball ($0.50 more for stuffed), but there are smaller and larger sizes too. The regular flavors range from the staples like cherry, wedding cake, etc to some interesting pop culture references like Spongebob, Superman, or Tiger Blood (probably LSU-related, but my brain automatically jumped to Charlie Sheen). Oh, and they have ice cream sundaes, floats, and other frozen treats too. Even with a big line, the servers move quickly. Is it worth a trip to Marrero from the eastbank? Probably not. However, if you are already on the westbank, give it a try! Its no Plum Street, but good enough for me.

Great sno ball stand. It's hard to elaborate on this place. They all are great, well actually I can think of one particullarly sucky one in Harvey. I come here enough I feel like one of the family. They have the typical sno ball stand faire, soft serve, chips, pickles, nachos, chili and candy bars. Priced decently The main thing I want to stress is the amount of flavors they have. Alot! And they seem to add maybe 3-5 every season. Not on the menu but they can make peanut butter shakes!!!! Mmmmmm Anyways if your passing by and see this stand, definitely stop in. $1 will buy you a small cup of heaven. Oh and sometimes they stay open well past out of season, but they arent open year round either, so that makes it extra special :-)

Royal Roastery is a bit of a mixed bag. They've got some savory nut options- I tried the barbecue…read morecashews. They were fine. They also carry some gummy and chocolate varieties, some spices, some boxed coffee, some Middle Eastern pastries. Only some things were labeled with either what it was or the price of it, so that was a little disorienting. I was surprised to find a cafe and gelato bar inside. The gelato flavors were incredible. I settled on popcorn caramel and baklava in a waffle bowl. An employee said that everything was made in-house. The price was standard considering that all was made there. The service was weird. I kept getting served after people who'd gotten there after me. My ice cream scoops were significantly smaller than my boyfriend's. Returning isn't high on my list of priorities, but I'm glad I tried them.

I was wondering around the WB with Re and she suggested we go "to the candy store." I was confused…read morebecause it was already after 8pm and what would be open? Royal Roastery that's who! This unassuming spot in a strip mall was gorgeous inside. And it serves coffee, pastries, ice cream plus y'know candy. AND they roast their own nuts, spices and I guess coffee beans. There were definitely folks hanging out and enjoying a Turkish style coffee... I guess either the caffeine doesn't hit them the way it does me or they had no plans to sleep. The candy isn't labeled 100% correctly but you kind of know that gummy worms are not gummy strawberries. I tried an assortment bag of gummies and some of chocolates and the price was by the pound. Re got some freshly roasted unsalted cashews and they were delicious! Parking is easy in the strip mall lot. And as you step in you definitely leave Louisiana and step into another country.
