This place took a down turn since Alyvia left to go to Salon Haven in Gaithersburg. Bad color, bad services

I came here to have a disaster fixed and Bobbie was amazing. She was very supportive of me and talked me through the whole process as I was in tears. Everything was spotless, masks on, gloves, constant sanitizing. On a side note- while we were chatting she told me that a former employee was trying to submarine her business by having people write bad reviews about her- well it turns out that former employee is the one who caused me to be crying in bobbies chair in the first place!! Went for a balayage yesterday - HUUUGE MISTAKE. Walked out having spent $400 hating my hair. I reached out to both the girl who did my hair, Alyvia and the owner telling them I was not satisfied and all they said was to come get a toner to basically take it back to the color I first walked in with. I requested they refund me back at least a portion of what I paid to go get it fixed elsewhere and the owner "Bobbie" refused in a very condescending and unnecessary fashion claiming I had "buyers remorse". Do yourself a favor and go ANYWHERE but here. They are significantly overpriced and won't do a thing if you don't like the end result. read more

I went there on Friday and Alyvia worked some serious magic on my hair. I had a terrible experience prior to coming here that left me quite skeptical as to where I would go next. I saw some pictures of her work and that she specializes in balayage, so I took the risk. Best decision ever! She was friendly, listened to what I wanted, was conversational but not so much that I didn't get to relax. She was efficient with her time and didn't rush but didn't keep me there all day. The salon itself is hard to find, so alot for an extra 20 mins if you're not familiar with the area. Very nice, modern and clean though. Overall, a great experience and I will be back! read more

I booked just for color, but Bobbie was able to do a cut and blow out as well so I could really appreciate the new color. This is my first time trying Balayage and I will be back. My hair looks great for a long time because the owner is a professional. She is always friendly but doesn't force constant chatter if you are in a quiet or contemplative mood. And the hair washing is always a real luxury massage. I'm going to start reviewing businesses I feel mediocre towards also, but this one has to get an all-star rating. Alyvia is amazing with color. She definitely knows her stuff! I've been going to her a long time. Bobbie does a great job from what I've seen and I wouldn't hesitate to see her if Alyvia wasn't available. You can't go wrong with either. I understand they have a new stylist on staff but if you want what you see on-line/social media make sure you ask for Alyvia or Bobbie. Speaking for Alyvia, I know she works hard promoting herself. The salon is nice, everyone who works there is super friendly and appears to love their job, I love that it's not big and catty. I'd give the salon five stars but they are more expansive than anywhere I've been or what any of my friends pay but I'll keep going to see Alyvia. read more

I had gone to Alyvia while she was still in beauty school and loved her work so I decided to follow her at her place of employment after graduating for my hair color needs. I wanted my base color to be purple but not too bright with blonde highlights on top. She put in the colors and when my hair was dry I could only see a few strands of purple here and there. I waited several days thinking that it would show more purple after going under the sun a few times but the base color looked black not just to me but to all of my co-workers, friends and family. I called and spoke with the manager and she did not offer me any solutions, instead she gave a bunch of excuses saying that my hair would have to have been bleached all over before putting in the purple color....she said that because I had color in my hair from a month ago that there was never a guarantee on how my hair would take the purple color blah blah blah. If you run a place of business that has to deal with hair color at least offer your client to return for the color to be redone at no extra charge but to kindly pay for the hair do (ie; the use of a curling iron or flat iron). I paid a lot of money for this hair color; $160 and my hair is in a short bob so the use of a lot of hair products are not needed. I will never return to this salon again and I advise you to think twice before going here for your hair color if you are looking for great customer service! read more

I saw Alyvia today and I am so impressed with her work. My hair was damaged from too much highlighting so I wanted to get the Cezanne treatment. It's a very nice salon. Very clean. No issues there. Staff was awesome. Great conversations. Very informative. The only issue I had was the pricing. I was quoted 160$ for the balayage I was getting. Awesome! I was so happy to get it done I booked my appointment right then. I come back a few days later. And after sitting for 4 hours I was told my bill was 305.00$ had I been told that I would have never gotten my hair done. And I'm suppose to be coming back to get it lighter, at an additional cost of course but I will not being coming back here as my price had more than doubled. read more
