I got my hair done by Stephanie yesterday. I requested a Balayage and showed a picture of what I wanted. I didn't get what I what wanted. Instead she & her assistant over processed my hair by leaving me sitting and waiting for an hour. I called that evening to speak to Stephanie but no one answered so I left a voicemail. She didn't bother to return my call! Instead she texted me! How unprofessional! I called the next morning and the receptionist told me Stephanie was too busy that's why she didn't call me, which is ridiculous! Your receptionist never contacted me, I called the next morning myself after I saw your text. You have never called my phone nor has the receptionist. I had to call you all. I told the receptionist the assistant didn't follow the 20 mins off and 20 mins on for the haircap. She left me sitting there for about 20 mins before she turned the time on. Put the cap on and set the timer. Followed by taking the cap off and setting the timer again for 20 mins! She also failed to leave me with the toner for an additional 5 minutes like Stephanie told her. She over processed bleach and under processed toner. So my hair looks terrible on the top of my head! I can't even run my finger through my hair not to mention some of my hair strands are white and not blonde!!! Stephanie if your assistant doesn't understand how important processing time is maybe it's time to teach her! I will never return and I don't recommend your Salon! You are very unprofessional! Offering to give me a deep hair treatment will not fix over processed brassy hair! Next time have some sense and call your client back! By the way I paid $440 for my hair! FYI by the way years ago she bargained prices so that's how it use to work Stephanie. I see things have changed! But the quality of service has gone down. The picture you took of my hair was a small shot. You never even sent me the pics which I asked for. You wanted to me to leave. Let's not talk about the choppy haircut you gave me to hide the broken hair. Not taking accountability or even caring for your clients is a terrible way to run your business. read more

I wish I could be positive because I have previously had a very nice history here. Unfortunately-not so today. i made my appointment three weeks ago for low lights and a conditioning treatment . I am 65 and this was my gift to self- my birthday appointment. I was looking forward to this appointment. My normal stylist asked what I wanted and I suggested low lights, conditioner, or perhaps a darker tone? She asked me to find the tone on her color chart. There were so many so i asked her opinion. She made a few jokes? " What if i told you bright orange? Would you like that?" She laughed. i said no. I told her that obviously she is the professional and I was hoping for her suggestions. I thought that she and I would chat about some possible options. She said that I obviously was not going to be happy and that I had better leave. I was flabbergasted. What had just happened? I suggested rescheduling ( perhaps she was feeling ill?), and she said no and that would not be an option. I got up from the chair and said thank you, have a nice day, etc. I was on autopilot. We hadn't had any upsetting words or a even a difference of opinion. At 65, I was humbled and treated poorly. I have never had a negative experience in any salon and I was not prepared for this. ***Nail Review*** Sonya was fantastic. Called this morning for an appointment and was seen at 10:30 exactly. One client was leaving while I was being escorting to Sonya's tucked away section in the back right of the salon. This is a one women salon which is perfect because she seems to stick to schedule and I was in an out in one hour. She removed my tips and gave me a gel manicure. Nothing was rushed and she very was pleasant. There's several colors to pick from and she does have a pedicure chair in the space. Two things that made her customer service stand out: 1. She let me borrow her stylus while my fingers were wrapped in foil soaking in acetone- which allowed me to be on my phone. 2. She gave me gloves with the fingers cut out before applying color to the nail to protect my skin from the gel drying device's UV. read more

I dropped by on short notice last week for a haircut and it was worth the trip to Rockville. Alex, the gentleman who took care of me, was exceptional. He was warm, welcoming, and very hospitable. I specified exactly what I was looking for, gave some details, and he worked with me to give me the very best cut. Salon Luna is located within walking distance of the metro, maybe 10-15 minutes. The staff are very professional. Great quality and reasonable prices - $20 for the cut and the wash. I highly recommend you pay them a visit. read more

I thought my experience here was WONDERFUL! I came in for a deep conditioning, blowout and haircut. My hair isn't that difficult, just needed a trim (well turned out we cut about 4 inches off). Grizelda (not sure about spelling??) was awesome! Loved chatting with her, and very very pleased with her workmanship -- aka my hair and the final result. I had a groupon - $39 for haircut, blowout, and deep conditioning treatment: Conditioning Treatment: basic treatment where they put a nice orange-smelling conditioner in your hair, put on a shower cap, and sit you under the heat-machine for 10 minutes.Left my hair feeling really soft and great. Haircut: I was assigned a stylist when I got there. I just wanted to trim off some of my dead ends and add a few layers, very simple haircut. I specified that I just wanted a very tiny trim of at most 1 inch. Stephanie mentioned that I'd need to cut off more (about 3 inches) to get rid of my dead ends, but I said no and that I was trying to keep my length.The haircut itself was good but the length I requested wasn't really respected. I got the type of layers I was looking for, but she ended up cutting off about 3 inches of length. Blowout: I essentially got my hair straightened stick-straight (even my side-swept bangs) and I left with hair looking really flat and bland. Overall, I wouldn't pay full price and I'm a bit bummed about my hair being shorter than I expected. It does feel softer and healthier though. read more

I am pretty boring when it comes to my hair style, but she is the first stylist that helped to push me just a little bit to do something different and it turned out perfectly. I saw Rosemary for a color, about 6 months ago. I bought a Groupon Now deal because I had been coloring my hair on my own for a while, and really just wanted something fresh (and professional). I believe the Groupon was $40 for a color and style. After doing a consultation with me, she informed me that since my hair was darker at the roots and lighter at the ends (or vice versa, I don't remember) that it would be $60 because it's a 2-color process and the Groupon was only good for 1 color---or something to that effect! Boooo! I hate when Groupon is tricky like that. Anyway, Rosemary did a great job and was super nice! Nice salon too and everyone else seemed professional and friendly as well! I keep meaning to go back for another color and maybe cut, so maybe I will one day soon! read more

I actually came here a few days ago for the first time and Stephanie was my hair stylist. She was awesome and super sweet. I went from having teal blue hair back to brunette. This salon is walking distance from my house, so I don't know how I never tried this place out! There is ample parking. I went to Stephanie a few weeks ago - She was great! She fixed my haircut (including the bangs I wasn't happy with from my previous stylist). She also asked questions about my hair and what I would like to achieve. It was refreshing to have someone truly listen instead of just chopping away. I told her I wanted a lighter color, but I knew it would be hard to maintain because of my schedule. She recommended a biolage - I never even heard of a biolage until recently lol. I have been coming here for as long as I can remember. I haven't found anyone where I live to really cut and style my hair the way Rosie and Stephanie have over the decade. So you could say I'm very loyal to their services to make an appointment anytime I'm in Maryland from California. The salon is in a great location with easy parking and inside has an excellent atmosphere. Every employee is friendly, really cares about your needs and sincerely wants to know how your life is going. After not dyeing my hair for WAY too long, I was anxious for a change. After reading Yelp reviews, I made an appointment with Stephanie. I could not be happier. She is one of very few stylists I have had that can get the perfect blonde (not brassy and not white) while finding a way to make it look natural as it grows out. The hairdresser was a lovely person but gave me the worst haircut I've ever gotten. Before this cut I would spend about 15 minutes on my hair and it looked great. Now I am spending 45 and it still looks awful. It is super puffy when I blow dry it straight and the curls go out in all directions if I try to leave it natural. She may be very good at cutting straight hair but has no idea of how the cut thick, frizzy, wavy hair. I started to worry when she completely flat ironed my hair before cutting the layers and then thinning it. Later I watched some YouTube videos on how to cut thick/curly hair and basically everything she did is exactly opposite of the techniques that are recommended. Now my hair is choppy and more unmanageable than it has ever been. I think she really tried and wanted to do a good job but just doesn't have the skill and know the right techniques. And I specifically asked beforehand if she knew how to cut my type of (thick, wavy/curly) hair. Very disappointed! read more

I did want a short cut, and ended up with it shorter than I expected. However, I LOVED it! I received a lot of compliments from my friends, and it was easy to work with for me.
