They also serve NA "Athletic" Brews if you're not feeling beer. It was a Saturday night with a good crowd, but it didn't take long for our food to arrive, and the service was great. I didn't realize Barack Obama dined here until reading the Yelp reviews, but that's pretty cool. I love that he has a pizza named after him, and I love how all the pizzas on the menu have fun names with personality. If you're in the Del Ray area of Alexandria and want pizza, salad, or a calzone, this is a great option.

The bread was not the correct French roll typically used for the sandwich to soak up the juices. I noticed that there was no option to make it an "Italian beef combination sandwich" to add an Italian sausage link. It also was not double dipped in the au ju/ seasoned beef gravy. The sandwich tasted nothing like the original Chicago Italian beef sandwich. It was a bit of a let down because I had high hopes, but I also understand that sometimes, things will not taste the same outside of the place/ region it originated at. The only things I did like was how toasty/ fresh the roll was despite it not being the classic French roll. While I think the place is pretty okay, I do hope they can attempt to perfect the sandwich or at least come much closer to having it being truly Chicago styled. As someone with deep Chicago roots, I was disappointed and it felt like low-effort with failure to tap into potential they know is there.

We had cool fries and it took a bit for the staff to come back to our table to check in the dining room. Similar response time for wait staff outside when we needed condiments that were ordered but didn't come out with our entrees. Cigar menu is an ok selection where there is something for everyone; however, our experience was the place ran out of the first four cigars we selected and each time the wait staff had to come back to our table to tell us they were out of that cigar. Wait staff didn't know what cigars were in stock and which they were out of. Overall, very good experience for both inside the dining area and outside where you can smoke. Recommend The Bungalow Lakehouse as it is a good experience and has a variety of experience options.

The bacon cheeseburger consists of: "100% angus burger, apple-wood smoked bacon, vermont white cheddar, canadian cheddar, sliced tomato, and crispy leaf lettuce". We both ordered it cooked medium. The dish comes with fries. To drink, I had ginger ale while my husband had a Heineken 00. Our server was friendly and efficient. He made a mistake, bringing my husband a Coke instead of the beer. My husband corrected him. He apologized and retrieved the correct drink. The burger was dry and overcooked. It was more on the medium well side. In one way, I didn't mind that as I didn't end up with greasy hands or a burger that falls apart. The bacon and the cheese provided some relief from the dryness. The fries came out hot, which we appreciated. All in all, it was an OK experience; we would consider going again sometime.

By the time my entrée arrived, the restaurant had gotten much more crowded, but it remained surprisingly quiet. I really appreciated that because it made the experience feel relaxed and comfortable. My friend ordered the fish with purple potatoes and green beans, and the fish was a 10/10. It was really good, and the sauce it came with was absolutely delicious. My only complaint was that I wished the vegetable portions were a little larger. Overall, the experience reminded me that I need to visit Clyde's more often.
