My friend and I came here for the first time today for brunch. The environment is very warm and chic. The service is great. We sat down at the table and were instantly served cucumber infused water. What a great addition to the brunch scene in Bay Ridge. I had the sausage skillet and it was very delicious. My wife's Eggs Benedict was also a home run. Cappuccino was also very delightful, only gripe was they don't offer iced versions of any of their coffees for some reason but I won't deduct any stars because the food and service was great. Waitress still accommodated some ice for me so I appreciate the effort. The decor is very warm and inviting and I probably will come back. read more

This place has been a favorite since we discovered them about two years ago! The food is always consistently amazing, even when you carry out. A couple of favorite dishes are: the Spanish breakfast (with an extra side of avocado), breakfast nachos, and the chorizo skillet. Amazing menu and service. We drive all the way from Rockaway to eat here. My favorite is the triple grain bowl with pulled pork avocado and egg. I've been to the common two times recently and had great experiences. The eggs Benedict with salmon tasted amazing. So fresh and flavorful even down to the salad and potatoes. My boyfriend was pleased with his fish sandwich as well. I went for lunch and had the pulled pork sandwich and for an appetizer the mushroom perogis. Everything is so ascetically pleasing and tastes great. I like that they make the food right in front of you because you know it's fresh. Only critique is that it is very small inside... about 8 tables. If they start getting busy it might be problematic in the future. For now it is my favorite new spot in bay ridge. read more

My friend and I ordered the skillet w/ three poached eggs in chili sauce, the eggs benedict w/ the pulled pork and the skillet pancake to share. Everything was perfect. The portions are quite generous, prices were reasonable and everything tasted fresh. We both agreed that this was some of the best casual food we have had in the neighborhood in a while. Went here for the first time and let me start off by saying I will not return. First off there wasn't a sufficient waiting area. I felt as if I was standing on top of the table next to the door. The waitress we had was very ditzy. It took about 15 minutes to get my almond matcha latte which tasted like saw dust,I had to return it. I've been here 3 times and each time did not disappoint. For breakfast I tried one of their grain bowls which was delicious! I've also tried their s'mores French toast which was really good but I would've preferred it with less marshmallow. My favorite dish was the avocado breakfast burrito! It was so creamy on the inside but the bread wasn't soggy in the outside... it was perfect! I don't see the lunch menu online, and I forgot was it's called, but for lunch I ate a delicious bowl with a mild spicy, fried chicken, corn, rice, and greens. I ordered to dishes on 4/30 for lunch - fish and chips and the noodle bowl... The fryer oil was obviously breaking down because the batter on the fish was soggy and burnt while the fish inside was cold... the sauce gribiche wasn't made correctly. The noodle bowl had undercooked noodles (you can tell they were not ready to do the lunch menu because they did not have salted boiling water ready and the noodles were cooked in simmering water and were sticking together) The noodle bowl had frozen, burnt corn and very salty spinach. And the worst part of the dish was the burnt fried chicken... again the fry oil. (Basic cooking!) I am talking borderline uneatable. The sauce tasting like thick peanut butter and lacked balance.... I would have let all the go and would not have written a review, but after mentioning this to the waitress, she dismissed my concerns and charged me.... let me say, I only took a few bites and left both plates uneaten. This place is so good, it's actually hard to explain. My wife and I went for brunch two days in a row while vacationing in Brooklyn for my birthday. Can recommend the Avocado Breakfast Burrito, The French Toast Sandwich, The Fish Sandwich and the smoothies! Creative choices in every dish and yet it still provides a comfortable familiarity. The staff was very polite. We would have enjoyed just a little more chat time with the staff but that's not a criticism. Just a personal preference. The ambiance is great. Good music, warm color palette and there's a particularly nice spot to sit and eat by the front window. We cannot wait to go back and we've already told our Brooklyn friends to check it out. Yikes- just came back from eating here- nope. This place was highly anticipated based on the yelp reviews and sorry but not sorry- not impressive. The place is super small and therefore limited tables. Expect to wait, which is fine for me because that is the norm of all good NYC brunches. Good thing is that you can leave your name and number and they call you back promptly. So we got seated and ordered the French toast, waffle, avocado toast and 2 lattes. The lattes came first, and was pretty good- so great beginnings. Next came the food, I knew the portions were small because they were trying to be park slopeyish...so I was fine with that. But the taste and texture of the food was lackluster. I was so disappointed. The waffle is just one waffle piece with boiled apple slices and a dab of cream. The waffle didn't taste rich, sorta diner-ish (where you pay half the price) and bland. The French toast was decent but nothing to be wowed about. The avocado toast was the major disappointment- it was a very hard rye toast (which tastes days old) topped with 5 leaves of greens, a slab of mushed avocados, yellow tomatoes (which was the prettiest and tastiest of the whole thing) and a over poached egg. My fork cut the egg in half and nothing melted over the toast - so it was basically a semi hard boiled egg on toast. For the price and wait- totally not worth coming back to. The coffee was decent AND...the service was great. The ladies that served were really nice, informative and patient! I saw them handle a table of 5 that asked every question about the menu under the sun AND for a sample. So if you want great service and coffee but mediocre and overpriced food than come on in! read more
