    Commonwealth Stage, featuring Bahamas

Hidden little gem! What a fantastic, centrally located venue for live music! They sure have a nice sound system that puts out ultra crisp acoustics, and also some serious bass that reverberates through your entire core. I really enjoyed the personable atmosphere -- the stage is so incredibly close that you can practically walk up and read the musicians' tattoos if you'd like, assuming that's your jam. The place is spacious, yet manages to have a cozy ambiance. In the back of the stage room there was some seating for folks. Out at the bar they were serving drinks for the show. :) Overall a very positive experience!

Love this venue! It is well-run with clean bathrooms, amazing staff, and ample room inside and outside for parking. Easy to access, easy to exit, great outdoor patio. We've been to many shows here over the years.

    Love that disco ball action.

Just saw Eric Johnson play here and it was amazing! The venue was small and intimate.

Amazing smaller venue, with great sound. Plenty of parking, very clean bathrooms, two bars. I cannot wait to see another show there.

Is there a coat check? How much is it?

We would like 2 tickets to Tommy Emmanual, but only see GA as option. Don't see where GA sits? What does FOH stand for?

Hey Carrie! FOH stands for Front of House (the sound / lighting guys).…

But I wanted a drink and was willing to take the risk, and I'm glad I did, because it was nothing like I imagined. Bartender was friendly and helpful. There was a decent amount of people watching the soccer game on tv, we were all cheering for Colombia, but then they lost, so most of them cleared out. Vibe kinda died after that. But nonetheless I had a great time, and I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly atmosphere. Plus 6$ mules and .50 cent pool is hard to beat. I guess they serve food but I don't know how good it is. Only downside is that's there's just one toilet, luckily I didn't have to wait to use it while I was there.

Drinks are cheap and so are their Hennessy shots at $7 each! Plenty of seating available, but everyone seems to congregate at the bar. I soon found that the bartender is such a hoot and so friendly! There's a couple of pool tables. The bathrooms are a little "shocking." I was looking for the women's restroom and when the lights automatically turned on, I saw lots of 70s models posing nude. So this is what regular bodies look like before the surgery era! The men's restroom was more classy with people smoking cigars.

The aesthetic is great and they've really made good use of the space. The biggest disappointment was seeing things so quiet. I know Bourbon House could be easy to miss, but was always densely packed. Despite the prominent neon sign outside, the room remained surprisingly quiet throughout our visit. Our little party of 4 enjoyed ourselves, but the buzz we craved just wasn't there. Drinks were good and the bartenders did a great job conjuring up the spirits. Bee's Knees, Corpse Reviver No 2, and Amaretto Sour were all made very well and hit the spot. Service was prompt and polite. We got seated after a short wait, and the team was attentive and friendly throughout. We were not kept thirsty! The live music was great and helped lift the otherwise subdued atmosphere. I'd love to see how the vibes are when the crowd is more filled out. I only found out about the relationship with Prohibition in Murray after the fact, but several members of our party called out the similarities in theme and vibe during our visit. Overall, this was a nice experience. I'd love to be back when things are a bit more lively. For me, drinks are better enjoyed in a crowd.

This old building has been totally and sleekly remodeled with homage to the past that respects the amazing bones of the building. One of my favorite buildings in the city. Perhaps my favorite part of the building is the rough hewn timber columns and joists that serve as the raw skeleton. Plenty of exposed brick walls also abound, and I'm completely charmed by the old spiral slide that used to shuttle manufactured goods from the upper floors all the way down. It's been preserved and gives incredible character to the space for weddings, parties, fundraisers and more. This is all coming from the point of view of an attendee; to date I've never worked with the fine folks behind the building and have only attended events in the space. They host some pretty remarkable events, so I've got to think they're on top of things. When they're not hosting events (and even when they are), the building is home to all kinds of offices from the tech to the more mundane. There's lots of parking on the north side of the building, which empties out rapidly at the end of business hours. The south side of the building is now nearly kissing a new bridge for Trax, so it's best to just turn in from the north and you can find parking further north or east. I always look forward to events at the SL Hardware Building. It's classy but still casual, convenient, and a stellar spot in SLC. Kudos to those who made the expensive decision to spruce it back up and honor the past. Well done!
