Beehive is the first and original gin distillery in Utah. I love the ambiance and is a great place for meeting friends or family or both to get together. The bartenders have always been personable and not in a creepy way. I do prefer the clear distilled gin vs the barrel reserve which is a lot more musky. If you are a whiskey or bourbon person you should try the barrel reserve.

As long as distilleries have been around, distillery cats have too. Gimlet is the honorary feline here and if you take a tour of the facility, you're likely to meet her. She mostly keeps to herself, allows an occasional pet, but then will be on her way patrolling the facility. She's good at her job. Speaking of good at their job, Mads took a small group, including myself, on a tour of the distillery-dropping knowledge bombs all along the way and captivating the group with more spirit trivia than you'd find any any sports bar event. She's terrific! Beehive Distilling also has a line under the name of Desolation Distilling. They create gin, vodka, whiskey (don't forget the "e", we don't want to offend the Scottish folk) and a few canned products as well. I learned that gin is an alcohol that has a variety of botanicals-including juniper, of course-and these botanicals are sourced from locations all over the world. They would love to source locally, but the volume they need exceeds local ability to produce. However, not all the ingredients are imported-I didn't get to see them, but Mads also told us that there are beehives on the roof which produce honey that is used in their cocktails. How cool! There will be a 7 year aged gin going on sell next week-it will be very limited. If you're lucky enough to read this in time, mark your calendar to pick up a bottle before they sell out!

My favorite local watering hole! This gem isn't ever super crowded and it is so low key. The vibe of the place is very quality, but not snobby in any sort of a-hole-ish kind of way. The bar is really the hidden secret of this place. But I recommend beehive for both their bar, and their gin is hard to even compete with. I suggest buying your booze here anyways. It is a better price than the liquor store and I never have to worry about waiting in an outrageous line that consumed by whole evening, while already have had an incredibly long day. The Moscow Mule contains 9% alcohol content per can and a can feels equivalent to having a strong drink of 2. Beehive sold me on simply this: class.

First time here. We came for our friends album debut. We we impressed with the decor and massive area around the bar to hang out. Plus there is another room next to the bar if you have a private party or just a big group of friends. The menu was small, just finger foods and sliders. They were delicious. They cocktails were out of this world and I'm sure we tried every one. I'm for sure going back and experience some more fun and music.

First Time at this place, very food surprise, I will be back! The place looks really nice and fancy, would be great for a date. We met there with friends and had a couple of cocktails, fries and sliders. Everything was delicious. We moved on to beer for my friends and prosecco for me. And for desert, we had the churros which were perfect to share. As we walked out, I asked my husband when he is taking me there on a date. I highly recommend!

Salt Lake has always needed a dark, luxe, moody bar that's a little farther from downtown & innocuous enough for you to meet with a former colleague that appears seemingly out of thin air next to you and orders a Gaucho as they slip you an envelope with the details to a top secret mission that you and only you can complete (even though you retired from the business years ago)... orrrrr it's a place to meet your best friend so you can catch up over mussels and smoked chips with a cocktail so good you'd rob your mother to pay for another. Either way! And yes, I know. You can buy a bottle of Beehive Gin at the liquor store but a Beehive gin cocktail at their distillery?! You have to try at least once. Oh, and don't forget to order the mussels.

What a beautiful location to spend an intimate evening with your friends. This distillery has a full bar, lots of seating and an elegant atmosphere. My friend and I enjoyed 'The Daydream' which has Beehive Organic Vodka, grapefruit liquor, aperol and lime. It was subtle, tart, beautiful to the eye and delicious. We will definitely be back soon!

My new favorite spot! Incredible cocktails and the bartenders were all so nice to chat with. I was surprised by how wide open the space was, like an art gallery. Excited to come during the summer. Also, Gimlet the kitty in the window was the highlight.

Drink already gone because they were too good to last :)

We love coming to this unassuming distillery. It's a quick bike ride from our house or a short walk from the nearest tracks stop. The drinks are fabulous! And they serve food now...ridiculously tasty and reasonably price. Their pork belly bun is fantastic. Yumdidily-oumcious!! Plus there is a cute cat!

Drinks are cheap and so are their Hennessy shots at $7 each! Plenty of seating available, but everyone seems to congregate at the bar. I soon found that the bartender is such a hoot and so friendly! There's a couple of pool tables. The bathrooms are a little "shocking." I was looking for the women's restroom and when the lights automatically turned on, I saw lots of 70s models posing nude. So this is what regular bodies look like before the surgery era! The men's restroom was more classy with people smoking cigars.

But I wanted a drink and was willing to take the risk, and I'm glad I did, because it was nothing like I imagined. Bartender was friendly and helpful. There was a decent amount of people watching the soccer game on tv, we were all cheering for Colombia, but then they lost, so most of them cleared out. Vibe kinda died after that. But nonetheless I had a great time, and I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly atmosphere. Plus 6$ mules and .50 cent pool is hard to beat. I guess they serve food but I don't know how good it is. Only downside is that's there's just one toilet, luckily I didn't have to wait to use it while I was there.

Sometimes I eat here two days in a row because it's just that good. The restaurant recently opened their doors to all ages which is a huge plus. But kids can only eat inside the restaurant (patio seating is 21+). Today, my family had the "DK Experience" which is a six course meal that feeds 4-6 people. It was PLENTY of food and everything was delicious. You do not need to order anything extra because it is a good amount of food. The best part is the duck - so flavorful and beautifully cooked. We spent about 2 hours here as each course is made to order, so be aware of that if you're also ordering the DK Experience. My favorite dish here is the Three cup chicken. The flavor has so much depth and is beautiful seasoned. Be sure to visit during their lunch happy hour for the best deals in town. I told her it was my first visit so she reviewed the menu and gave me a few recommendations. Unfortunately the experience went downhill from here. I was dining with a friend for an early lunch. We ordered the pork pot stickers to share. Then we also ordered sticky ribs, chicken sando and egg drop soup. The server took our order and returned promptly with our drinks. After some time passed the server returned to inform us the ribs were sold out and provided us with a menu to look at other options. A little more time passed and then more bad news the egg drop soup was also out of stock. We declined on ordering anything else and I asked if my chicken sando was still coming and was told yes it's on it's way. Meanwhile we watched three other tables arrive and place orders and even receive their food and yet my chicken sando was still missing. I flagged down our server and again was told my chicken was coming. Another 15 minutes passed and still not sandwich. I politely flagged down our server and requested the check as our lunch experience had gone on for over an hour now and still our food was incomplete. We got an apology and the bill and began to exit. As we were leaving the server arrived at our table with a takeout bag with my chicken sando. I'm not sure what was happening on this visit but something felt very off at the Drunken Kitchen. First impressions are very important especially in a dining experience and this first impression was not good at all.
