Jose did my repair the day I brought the printer in, diagnosed the two problems I had and fixed them both that day, without the need for new parts. $35 to look up cost of parts to swap, $150 for labor - I just used chatgpt to look up part costs. $25 for the part that has to be replaced but was told the screen is fragile and might break during fix and cost total of like $400 for a 5yr old $2K laptop. Wasn't worth it tor me. He was nice and straightforward though. Edit: Dear Jose, you're right, you did not perform any repairs on my computer and I apologize for hurting your business in review of your response. I will add 2 more stars to avoid negatively impacting your business and I understand you have to look out for yourself in promoting your business and charge for your time. I was a bit surprised that fixing the computer I'm typing this on could end up costing me almost a quarter of the price I paid for it given its age. It's not on you though, and therefore I've changed my star rating. I still do believe $150 to swap a back panel is a but much, so I will leave it at 4-star. I will say to potential future customers that Jose is not a deceiver and will tell you straight up what costs you might incur. I can't begin to tell you how grateful I am for Jose! The only other place who fix printers that I could find , and that's over in Redondo Beach. That's an easy two hour round trip for me. My old printer had jammed, and I made matters worse when I tried to yank it out. I both broke the paper tray and messed up something mechanical on the inside of the printer. I decided to just purchase a new printer, but unfortunately it looks like these new printers are pretty much disposable (Jose's words) and the quality was terrible. It was such a pain to install and what did get printed was awful. I was dreaming of my old printer. Fortunately, I found Jose! Jose was so kind and honest, he charged $30 to check things out and that amount goes towards the cost of fixing my printer if he's able to fix it. Not even a full 23 hours later he got everything squared away. The entire cost was $40 out the door. Well worth it. I gave him $10 extra as a tip because I was so thrilled with his work.
