Bitchy waitress took great joy in informing me that I would have to pay full price for the sandwich and soup that I didn't want plus full price on the chili. No small up charge. came in here two weeks ago doing a doordash and id thought id take my family to breakfast i unfortunately didnt know the waitresses name but she was AMAZING she made sure to give us extra napkins when we got our drinks super friendly and absolutely great food i had biscuits and gravy and it feels like it was made just at home but way better my mother had french toast that was amazing she said its not to quiet nor to loud the place is very clean i will be definitely coming back here!! great work!! read more

Stop in here for breakkfast once in a while purely because of the convenience of being so close to home. The deals aren't bad- I don't think you could find a cheaper breakfast in Macomb unless you visited another Coney. The food is pretty basic, but nothing that you wouldn't expect for the cheap price. I stick to the staples and have yet to have bad pancakes or bacon (though the eggs can be dry at times) Despite how crowded they are, they try to turn tables fast. Its not the place to meet a friend if you're trying to catch up over a meal. Our waitress tried clearing our plates, brought us the check, and asked for it back despite the place being practically empty. When there's a line, I never hesitate to quickly clear my plate. However, I'd like to sit and enjoy my meal + conversation if no one else is waiting and most of the tabled are empty. read more

Food is fast and good. Staff is always nice. We really like the chili. Food is always consistent.

Observations: First time there and ordered 2 coneys Coneys were mediocre at best, particularly the chili Order delivery was fast but that's normal for coneys only. Service: The blonde woman that sat me was a little uptight but K.B. the waitress was rude and about as fake as fake could be with the repeated eyerolls. It seems to be the wrong profession for this individual. Decor: Nice but a net 0 with such pathetic service. Value: 2 coneys for about $6 is not unreasonable in 2023. Final: I might come back in a year or so after they've had a chance to rotate staff and do some basic customer service training. That kind of job is easy. Maybe you could do a showing of the movie Clerks. Afterthoughts: I see people complained about hours and closing early. I can appreciate the staffing issues felt by just about everyone so I can overlook that for the purposes of this review. Nonetheless, you should have fought back against the lockdowns. I have been a regular customer here till now. They charged me .89 extra ( Kraut and dressing) for two items on my sandwich which costs $8.49 alacarte. When I ordered the extra condiments I was unaware of the charges until the bill arrived. Upon paying asked for a manger and none were available and had no choice but to pay for the total as charged. I had a Reuben at the Marcus Grill a near by competitor and ZERO up charges for same extras. Tired of Nickel and dimes here. Lost a customer for life. read more

Terrible coney, probably the worst one to exist. the food literally gives me the runs every single time I order from there.

Wanting to find a quick place for lunch, my mom and I saw The Coney Grille and decided to give it a try. Upon walking in, I was impressed at the bright and cheery look and open feel of the restaurant. We were greeted immediately and seated promptly. The menu has a nice variety of choices with some of the items similar in name to the popular food choices at the other Coney Island restaurants. My mom ordered a HotTurkey Sandwich with Mashed Potatoes and a cup of Lemon Rice Soup. I had a Coney Special with French Fries. The server was very welcoming, friendly and prompt which made for a comfortable visit. I was surprised and impressed with how quickly the food arrived too. As good as it was, I noticed my hot dog and French Fries weren't 'hot'. The meal was 'warm enough', but not as hot as I expected and would have liked it to be. The whole restaurant, including the restroom is very clean which is always nice to see. It shows that it's a place that cares about the look and feel of their facility and wants their customers to return. Will I return, I sure will. Overall, I would not even recommend my worst enemy to work here or even eat here. The service and quality of food has not been good recently as it has been in the past, which is why I will never return! I used to like some of the servers who worked here but it seems as if they all left. The older blonde lady who was my server a few days ago messed up my order, which always seems to be a reoccurrence with her every time she is my server....and she always wreaks of cigarettes which is something that I never want to smell when I am trying to eat my food. It is absolutely disgusting. The smell alone was enough to turn me off and make me never even want to think about coming back. The quality of the food has been on a decline recently too but the prices still seem to be rising. 15.99 for a fish and chip "dinner" or any "dinner" is crazy! What do these people think this is...? This is not some fancy restaurant. Pitas and wraps don't even come with fries for a $10 meal. You can't even walk out of there without spending $15 per person (unless you get their coneys). But the coneys are a whole different story, you can clearly tell the hot dogs are sitting on the grille all day, because when you get them at dinner time, it tastes like you are biting into a rock. It also seems like they buy cheaper hot dogs now because they do not taste like they used to a couple months ago. Half of the time, the chicken lemon rice soup barely has any chicken and it never even has a flavor of lemon. It seems like the owners are just looking to lose business at this point, but they will not be taking my money anymore. Customers are better off taking their business elsewhere... Go a couple miles down the road, make a stop at New York Deli on 23, Stop at Paulee's near 22 and Hayes...you will receive better quality food for cheaper prices. Today, I tried Nori's restaurant on 21 and Hayes so go check that place out too! great food, great service and great prices! Not to mention, I have seen a few familiar faces there of some girls who used to work at Coney Grille. It's no wonder they aren't working at coney grille anymore, somewhere new and they probably don't feel like they are walking on egg shells any more waiting to get scolded at (AND ALL OF THOSE CAMERAS IN THERE...i'm sure this owner just loves to sit there and watch these girls "misbehave") because from what I hear, the workers don't get treated very well at coney unless you are part of the owners family... of course, more unfair treatment. The workers, especially the managers always have something to complain about because I can always hear them talking. Let's not mention the back of coney grille in the kitchen...when I go up to the register to pay my bill, I can always see food just sitting out in the back table...NASTY! I even heard they keep bacon, sausage, soup and other foods out over the night..YUCK! We ate dinner there yesterday. I'm updating my review to one star due to the outrageous price increases. We've eaten here often over the past 6 years and I'm sad to say yesterday was our last visit, even though it's always been a favorite of my kids and it's close to home. We had two adults that had chicken pitas and fries and 2 kids meals. One adult had a drink and the rest were waters. Our bill was over $40 and by the time we left a tip, nearly $50. $50 for nothing special at a Coney Island is too much. They charged $1 to add chocolate chips to my son's pancakes. Really??!? I've never seen a restaurant charge anything let alone a dollar, and my son gets them everywhere we go. If I'm going to spend $50 on dinner, I'm going to go elsewhere. They've always been expensive, but it's over the top now and they've lost a regular customer. read more

Love it!!!! Great place it's clean and they are super friendly and all the waitresses are great no matter what you order your food will be hot when you get it. One of my favorite places to go there at least 2-3 times a week never had a bad meal yet and been going here for at least 6-7 years love there salads breakfast and fish &chips actually there a lot I like lol read more

Can't give negative star rating otherwise I would. We (four of us) walked into the restaurant at 7:45pm on Sunday 2/26/2017 and were met with a look of disappointment from the staff as they seemed to be all cleaned up and close despite the sign saying open, and the door was unlocked. I asked, are you open? The lady said well kind of, we close at 8pm so if you can eat in a hurry it will be ok. I told her, no that's ok, we will leave, which we did. I don't understand how the sign says open until 8pm but we need to hurry when eating? Both of our kids play soccer down the street (23 & Hayes) four days a week and we eat out a lot. We like the food there and the prices are reasonable, we have eaten there numerous times, sometimes multiple times in the same week, service is consistently bad and the staff is not friendly or accommodating. Unfortunately we will need to drive to hall road Leo's for our dining out because Coney Grille just doesn't seem to want customers. read more

From a once loyal customer to now a Leo customer based on Principle. I tried (key word tried) to ordered a Togo from Coney Grille. I started out with my order on 2 adult meals (club sandwich and chicken wrap) and lastly ordered my Son a children's spaghetti. The person on the phone proceeded to tell me Coney Grille does not accept children's meals for a Togo option. The girl on the phone stated I would have to order an adult meal for my 6 year old. I asked "I am about to cancel my whole order based on you not taking a children's spaghetti order, are you sure you want to lose this business?" they said "yes, it is their policy". What a poor business practice. I can understand if I were ordering 3 Children's meals and people take advantage of that. However, I was ordering 2 adult meals along with a children's meal. This is not taking advantage. I immediately called Leo's Coney Island and they were happy to take my order and my money. So Coney Grille lost a customer while Leo's gained a customer. read more

A really great place with affordable, large portions, and a good selection of food. It can get pretty crowded sometimes but when it's not, the food can come CRAZY fast, which is awesome if you're on a tight schedule. The last time I was there, everything was amazing except the mozzarella sticks we got weren't melted at all.
