He was very prompt in responding to my request for service. He tightened and oiled everything in my A. C, but the fan went out 3 days later. He found 1 for $350 in town. I found one online for a $100. He told me he would install the fan for me when I received the part 4 days of calling and leaving messages and text messages and no respond. had their HVAC Tech come out to our house to check my HVAC system (it went out on a Friday the 7/21\2023 on Monday the 23rd, the tech got to my house at 4:05 and left at 4:42/ when he came to the house, I told him what was happening, that it comes on for a minute or two then off for hours. well right when they came it came back on and all he did was go up to my attic, looked at it for about ten minutes, then came back saying it was running, and showed me a picture with all the lights on. I told him that is what it is doin going on, then right off. he didn't even do a diagnose on the system, AND just like I told him... it went off again. and this was fifteen munites later (I went to go get dinner), called them back, was told that I would have to pay another trip charge (95.00), but when I told her (the lady on the phone) that he JUST LEFT she said she will try to get the trip fee waived, which she did. but they could not get back here till Thursday, could not do that, so got another company (semper fi A/C), I then received a letter (E-Mail) from Josh basically, being passive-aggressive to me by BLAMING me for their drivers having to travel to my house, which I told them that was what the trip/service fee is for, along with "that's part of doing business." along with Josh telling me that their Tech are so good that they do not have to do a diagnose on the system because they are trained to be able to use their sense (my word, he said) that they can do a dia. just by seeing, or hearing. I told him that a "good tech know to 1) listen to the customer, and when trhey tell them whats going on they will know. and 2) when acustomer tells the Tech that it went out on a friday, and they are here on a monday, they should know that there is a problem, and just because it went back on (been doing that since 7/21) they should atleast check the system for there should be a problem. (Found out by semper fi, that it was the mother board for my dampening system) and not be up there for only ten minutes (cool guys) the other guy was up there from 11am till about 3:30 (he left at 5pm) We will never use them again, nor refer them to anyone, for in POV they are a waste of money, and time. and if I could, I leave a minus star rating. I cannot recommend this company enough - when our AC went out and we called first thing on a Monday morning, we were advised the next available appointment was Wednesday AM. A tech stopped by on MONDAY EVENING after all of their scheduled calls to make sure we weren't suffering too badly. Thankfully, we have two units but that extra consideration goes a long way in my book. He could have told me anything (what do I know about HVAC?), but he when I asked his opinion about replacing the units, he was forthcoming about the cost vs age and care of our units. First off they were willing to wear face masks and gloves during the inspection and replacement to help protect me and my family, which in these times, I really appreciated even though it was really hot and I'm sure was super uncomfortable for them. Sorry for the late review, but better late than never! Last August (hottest month of the year) my 1 year old AC stopped cooling. Precision Heating and Air (who installed the new unit) said they were backed up and couldn't get out for a week, even though I was still under warranty! A week in August is like a year here in Arizona. I called The Cool Guy in the early evening and explained what was going on, and they were out the next afternoon and had me fixed in less than 30 minutes. A part smaller than my fingernail caused all the frustration. They were polite and quick, even with me hovering over them the whole time. A lot of companies will charge a higher fee during the summer months, but not The Cool Guy. My brother who is an HVAC tech in Oklahoma told me the price I was charged was on the lower side, which was awesome. Thank you guys! read more

Our A/C died yesterday on a saturday. It was a grim to say the least. We looked up A/C companies in our area. Cool Guys was who we chose. It was a lucky choice too. They got here within two hours of our desperate call and fixed the problem. The gentleman who came was polite and courteous. His name was Jacob. He was in the attic on the hottest part of the day, the afternoon. I'm very please to say when he finally departed our home, we were cool and grateful for Jacob. I will not use this company again. I had a problem with my less than 2 year old heat unit. I had the company out on 12/22/20 because the heat unit was blowing cold air. The techs spent a couple of hours and determined it was some wire loose with the outside condenser and they put in heat strips in the air handler. The next day my two nest thermostats had no power to it (I have two units). I called the office to schedule an appointment. I asked if there will be a service charge. The scheduler said they will let me know if there is a service charge before any work is done. When the tech came back, he determined the problem was the breaker was tripped. This is because the heat strips need more power to run causing the breaker to trip. They should have seen that the breaker would have needed to be upgraded. Both my air handlers are under one double breaker. To upgrade the breaker, it would cost me $250 with the service charge waived. The part is 10 to 15 dollars. I showed the part online to the tech and said that was the part. They were ripping me off completely. I called my handyman and he charged me $100 which included the part and he installed it within 10 minutes. The next day I noticed my nest thermostat kept going into delay start at 5 minute intervals after 2 minutes of running. I paid another company to come out and said they hooked it up wrong and no wire was going to the common wire port. He switched the wire and it worked again. Since I refused the service, they are still charging me the $75 service charge. I refused to pay for it because this should have been looked during the visit the day before. They knew heat strips need more power. I already paid them $75 for the day before. I asked when will I get a receipt with pictures and the tech said yes. When I called the office to say the price was ridiculous and I was not paying the service charge, the office manager threatened me with collections. A week later, I called for the receipt and the office manager said that he will send in a request to have it emailed to me. I called again a couple days later and he said he will look into it. I called again a couple days after this and another guy said he would look into it. I called a week later and Jess said that my account was locked due to no payment and she can't open it and said only management can do that. I asked her to have management call me and no one has called back. Now when I call, it goes to voicemail. I tried making a complaint with the AZ ROC, but my complaint is out of their jurisdiction since I paid someone else to fix it. They are ignoring me at call cost now. Not professional at all. It just sounds expensive and you never know if the service provider is going to get it right or soak you. Thankfully I found these guys. The cool guys to be exact! We first heard about the cool guys from a local Facebook page. Many people there had used them for their heating/cooling and the reviews were amazing! We decided to give them a try. On numerous occasions they have been responsive & able to provide a diagnoses within hours (numerous occasions being 3x only due to trying to keep the 15 year old unit going).
