if you're from out of town and love pizza, but sometimes find it hard to decide which pizza place looks best AND if you like classic New York style pizza that has the delightful balance of foldability in the pie and a slight crispy char'd crust, then don't waste your time shopping around. Many times I have gotten to my hotel room, eager to eat a fresh pie, only to be utterly disappointed. i wasn't disappointed this evening. My wife and I came by here for the first time for dinner. In particular we were mainly interested because they sell Pizza By the Slice and it has a good star rating on Google. Well, upon arriving, the pizzas that were out and available for the pizza by the slice option were not appealing to the eye at all. They unfortunately looked like they had been sitting out for hours. Dry and no signs of being fresh whatsoever. Not to mention we spotted multiple flies crawling on the pizzas and the other food out on the "display" area. Because of this, we quickly changed our mind and almost walked out but still decided to give it a chance by ordering a pizza fresh. As far as the customer service goes, the lady who helped us was very kind. Additionally, we were able to order a half and half pizza (Half Margherita and Half Supreme) and we liked having that as an option. The pizza was done and ready to go within about 10 min. We took the pizza as carry out to eat at home. As far as the taste, it was okay. It wasn't bad but it also wasn't great. The flavor was average. I did question the freshness of the ingredients after experiencing how the other pizza and items were displayed by the checkout counter. Overall, unfortunately we did not have a great first impression/experience and therefore we don't see ourselves going back. read more

I was apprehensive to say the least when my friend chose this restaurant for lunch the other day. The grounds are overgrown and messy looking and there's an old broken down order board in the parking lot. Inside was a little better, looking clean but worn. The drink and ice machine was broken, which they apparently did not know until after they took our order. To their credit they found some bottled water and coke in the back and offered to refund our drinks. The food was on display on the counter in a case, but I was concerned because there didn't seem to be any sort of temperature control, just various pizzas, calzones, and more sitting out at room temperature. We chose what we wanted and they heated it up and brought it to the table. I got a Stromboli with sausage and pepperoni, and my friend got a slice of supreme pizza and one of stuffed pizza. The food actually didn't taste bad. My Stromboli was brushed with garlic butter when it was heated up which was nice, but unfortunately it was still cold in the middle. All in all, I won't be back. There are SO MANY great pizza and pasta joints in the area, this one just doesn't stack up. read more

Hate to say that I will likely not come back. While my wife's calzone was freshly made, my stromboli was not, and it wasn't even reheated well. We had seen premade pizza and stromboli on display, but didn't think much of it. A few minutes before our food was brought out, my wife saw the kitchen pull a stromboli and put it in the oven. Which is fine--no sense in throwing out food, but it arrived at the table nearly blackened. read more

This place has been trending, so I stopped by to try out a slice of pepperoni pizza. I was pleased with the size of the slice and fairly filling. This location was home to another restaurant I frequented. The layout is not much different. One change is the display of several menu items. I was in and out pretty quick and my interaction with the cashier was straight forward. I may stop by in the future to try out other items. read more

Terrible down grade in food quality. I used to be a frequenting customer And i have never had this experience before. I ordered the fettuccine alfredo, usually it's a 10/10 dish Properly made soft egg made imported noodles with a flavorful creamy sauce. This time around when i had ordered it the Noodles were dry and starchy. You could clearly tell that they were bought from The grocery store. The alfredo sauce was clumpy and unflattering with no flavor or garlic at all. After i had attempted to finish the dish it had ended up making me sick. I'm sure ingredients aren't stored properly here at all, alfredo never makes me throw up. read more

We were very excited to see NY Pizza & Pasta in Alabaster. We opted to order takeout. We ordered the garlic cheese bread, lasagna pizza, and a slice of cheese and Hawaiian. Overall, it was ok. Not awesome, but not bad. The lasagna pizza was good, but lacked sauce. Maybe if the sauce had been drizzled over the top, it would have tasted more like lasagna. It was overpowered by ground beef and ricotta. Good, but not quite there. The cheese and Hawaiian were both good, but also lacked enough pizza sauce (and that's coming from someone who usually prefers light sauce!) The garlic cheese bread was very basic - bread with melted cheese on top. The marinara sauce was honestly the star of the show. It was really yummy! We'll give it another try, but I believe there is likely a learning curve, which these reviews can help with. I love to support local businesses, and restaurants are super difficult, so I'll chalk up our mediocre experience to them being so new and freshly open. Tried out the new New York Pizza and Pasta in Alabaster. We opted to dine in because this was our first time and as we all know, a box kills a good pizza. I'll start off that I love New York style pizza. Large thin slice with crisp bottom and airy crust. As we walked in we noticed this was an older building that had had previos restaurants in it so I will give the decor and building some lead way. They serve pizza by the slice and other options. But the choices on the counter were already dry and un-appetizing in appearance. We opted for a specialty Alfredo pizza just because my wife loves Alfredo. It was just the two of us so we chose a 12 " medium pizza. We grabbed a table number and a booth. After about 20 mins, they called our number at the counter. I was presented with a pizza in a box and two paper plates. Plastic silverware was also on the counter. Just a side note, if I am dining in, I prefer my pizza, NOT in a box and a plate and real cutlery. Pizza was piping hot with a moderate amount of grease. Toppings were minimal and sparse. Now for a New York style, I expected a crisp bottom and airy crust. The crust was thick and doughy. The bottom was "hard", not crisp and I could not cut it with my plastic fork. I can't say this for certain but it appears that they took a large dough ball and made a medium. Because the larges, that I saw on the counter did not have as thick a crust. Alfredo sauce had a great taste and smooth consistency. The pepperoni was well cooked and crispy. The gluten structure in the crust was well developed but I feel that there was so much dough on the crust that it could not "puff" as a New York crust should. It wasn't bad, and I would eat there again. But I wouldn't go out if my way to drive there just to eat there. This would be good take out pizza to order for the kids or a night watching football. But please, ditch the paper and disposable products for dine in customers. It would have been a much better experience. Paper is great for a slice, but not a family sitting down to dine in. This alone took them from a 4 to 3 stars. They are new and just getting started, I suggest you give them a try. I would rather support a local business versus a franchise pizza place. read more

If you want Neapolitan style crust with delicious sauce, fresh ingredients and overall high quality then try this place. We had three different pizzas and all were nicely prepared. Also tried the fried ravioli and cheese garlic bread - would order again. Lastly we had chicken cream pasta which was some of the best. The folks inside were prompt professional and kind. This place is awesome. We ordered through Slice to have our food delivered. After a while, the restaurant called us asking if we received our order. We had not. Apparently, the driver picked it up and never delivered it. The driver did not have any affiliation with the business. They were so accommodating to us and made sure we were taken care of.
