Highly recommend. I had the cheese danish and it was the best I've ever had. The coffee was good also.

However, I've developed gluten intolerance and it's hard to find places that offer options that accommodate celiac and gluten sensitive folks. I found that Surfside offered gluten free bagels and wanted to give a pork roll, egg, and cheese with salt, pepper, and ketchup. I was worried they wouldn't have any since I came late into off-season, but luckily they had plain and everything as bagel options. We took two orders of PREC w/ SPK - one on a GF everything bagel, one on a GF plain bagel. The GF bagels tasted almost like sandwich buns, but overall the breakfast bagel hit the spot without causing any terrible reactions. The everything bagel's seasoning definitely made it more subtle of the fact that it was gluten free. There's no seating at this place so it's more grab and go. They also offer coffee but I didn't opt for any. What's nice about the inside are the cool gift items they offer as well as the literal surf shop ambiance -- felt almost as if you were inside a shop in Hawaii. Price is premium in general on the island. There was a $4 upcharge for gluten free bagels so altogether we paid an extra $8. Total was around $25, but again during off season, we feel for the business as things start to slow down. Happy to support island businesses as long as the service is friendly and the food is great! Will give Surfside another chance next summer!

They also have a small grocery section with organic and higher-end items, fresh salads made in-house, a deli, and even a grill. I came here this morning and ordered a cheesesteak with fries. The portion of fries was huge--honestly enough to feed a family of four. I was glad I had someone to share with, but keep that in mind if you order. The cheesesteak itself was just okay. The bread was good, but overall it lacked flavor. Personally, I wouldn't come back here for a cheesesteak, especially since there's another spot on the island that does them really well for half the price. I also grabbed a cold-pressed juice from the fridge. None of the drinks are marked with prices, so I didn't find out until the register that it was $7. A bit of sticker shock considering you could find something similar at a grocery store for about half that. That said, I'd absolutely come back for their coffee and pastries. They're delicious and feel special. I may just skip the deli/grill next time.

A fantastic choice for coffee and snacks take-away…read more A bit inconspicuous, except for the giant "espresso bar" sign on the roof, this is a small little joint that's ideal to pop in and out of on your way from here to there on LBI ... or as a quick jaunt in the morning if you happen to be staying nearby. The service is swift, though the design makes ordering impersonal and a touch awkward. While the staff are working in a central pit of sorts surrounded by the artists' tools, as it were, the ordering ipads are in the back right. A quick hello and you're scrolling through menus exploring your (extensive) options. Pretty easy ... but maybe a little awkward give you have to walk by the staff and then turn around and loiter somewhere in the square surrounding the pit until you get your stuff. Seating is minimal. There are a few stools by the window making it POSSIBLE to drink you coffee or eat your food there, but clearly sending visitors a recommendation not to. Drawbacks aside, the coffee really is VERY good and they've got some interesting options if you'd like to experiment. Both the espresso with cold foam and strawberry matcha drinks were top picks for our family. Bottom line: you won't be disappointed.

Two people behind the counter were just standing idle to make drinks. They could have been proactive to see if they can help the two families to order. Waited close to 10 minutes just to place my order. Order was completed very quickly once ordered. Food was great. Had the Agnello. Sandwich was large and justified the price. Lettuce and tomato was fresh. The prosciutto was sliced ultra thin, the way it should be.
