Oh my... I have a new addiction... I honestly wasn't expecting much from a salad but OMG! The Thai peanut salad is so delicious. Noodles + Lettuce = YUM!!! I was skeptical about tofu in my salad as I can be picky texturally but it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The peanut dressing is a bit spicy and amazing. But service was quick and it didn't take long for us to be ordering at the counter and then sitting in front of a bunch of lovely plants - such a peaceful setting! We got a hot matcha latte w/ almond milk, the harvest salad, and a PB smoothie. The matcha latte was truly one of the best I've had, the salad was full of unique, delicious flavors, and the only thing that fell slightly short was the PB latte - it just wasn't the sweetest or most flavorful. Great vegan breakfast! I can never say no to a "chicken" biscuit! Found this spot online on a search for vegan restaurants in the Denver area. We stopped here immediately after flying in, and ended up coming back the next morning as well since we liked it so much! The service was quick and the staff was efficient. Both the inside and outside seating were nice. I enjoyed sitting outside earlier in the morning, and enjoyed the greenery inside when we went later in the day and couldn't be outside in the heat. Also ordered the goldenmilk (option to buy powder mixture in store). It was also great and my first time trying it. Portions just enough to not feel over fed and ingredients quality is high. Service: the person who rang up our order was very patient and gave great recommendations for first timers. They give you a number for your table if you're dining in and bring your food to you. Big downside was, wow, it was expensive! We got 2 juices, a muffin, and latte and it was $50 with a 16% gratuity automatically included without telling us until the second before we paid. Once it was one of my favorite places to bring my friends for breakfast. Today my experience was totally different. Me and my friend ordered coffee and two Sweet beet& Pistachio French toast. The coffee was served 30 minutes after the order was places and when I approached the coffee bar to ask about the coffee it was just standing there for god knows how long and the server said that she will bring it to our table right away. When it used to be perfectly hot coffee in the past was now a cold coffee in a mug for me and in a to go cup for my friend (when we both said that we will be dining in. As for the French toast. In my opinion if the beet listed as a main ingredient in a dish, I expect it to show. The beet jam spread was much to be desired. Half of the toast was just plain. And it was my favorite dish here before. I don't know if this place experienced some management changes, but it is not the same place as I used to know. Extremely hostile and aggressive waitress (who I'd just admired at the register for seeming so at ease in her world) approached our table, accusing, angry, grabbing our things, and assuming we were evil and up to no good without pausing for a single moment to imagine we were agreeing with her and trying to help ease her stress in any way we could...could not even hear us saying we had gotten prior permission to use the Sample Tarot card deck and would even be happy to pay for it. She was too busy insisting on making us the bad guys she wanted us to be in her head. Her manner was inexcusable, though we stayed kind. It was frustrating to be profiled and summarily excused, which we were, as she muttered words like privilege & entitlement and stormed off. We returned the cards immediately, recovered our otherwise awesome morning, only to be interrupted again by a manager--obviously well frothed up with narrative-- came over to double down (NOT apologize & offer a round of free matchas on the house to what were once regulars, but..) Anyway, it's a hard world when we can't even recognize friends and spit in their food. We left because "you know 'pride' and 'vibe'" ...whatever that meant (plans to attend parade later that aftn). We were there to love on you, and support you, and you got more enjoyment out of shitting in our punchbowl, I guess. But, whatever you need! Walking in for my first time today I had the immediate sense of coming home. The Corner Beet is warm, charismatic, delicious and the staff are very generous. I tried this place because I wanted to try a new açai bowl location that was close to home. The location of the shop itself is not the greatest. It's right off of Colfax which to me is not a problem however if you go a block over there's a school and there was a ton of homeless people camped out by it. But besides that, the building that the shop is in is perfectly sanitary and clean. Actually when you walk in it it's very cozy and inviting. It also smelled fantastic. Whatever they were cooking in the back made my mouth water. I was getting an order to go so I didn't take pictures of the inside this time but trust me when I say it would be a place that I would feel comfortable going back to and studying. I ordered the super fruit açai bowl and added peanut butter. When I got to the shop my order was ready. They had a little enclosure for baked goods and they had this interesting rice crispy looking thing that looked so delicious. When I asked what it was the lady said it was in fact a healthy rice crispy treat but made with almond butter and chocolate bits. It sounded and looked so good I ended up getting that as well. When I opened my açai bowl, it had a lot of really wonderful toppings and I was super excited to eat it. But this is where I was disappointed. The smoothie itself tasted chemical-y. I'm not sure if whatever they use to make the smoothie part was just not right or if it had come in contact with some thing but it did not taste good. I could also not taste the peanut butter at all. I'm not sure if they forgot it or just used a very little amount of it. What I did like about the smoothie was that it had granola balls inside the middle of it versus putting granola on top of it. This ensured the granola didn't end up getting soggy. I tried to just power through it because it was about a $15 bowl however the chemical taste was just too strong and I ended up only having a few more bites. The rice crispy treat on the other hand was absolutely wonderful. The flavor was great the texture was great I love the chunks of chocolate that I got and I'm wondering if they use brown rice syrup instead of marshmallow to get it stick together because it didn't taste as sickeningly sweet as the average rice crispy treat. Despite the fact that I was not happy with my açai bowl, I probably would return to this place and try something else on the menu because of what it smelled like when I walked in and because the rice crispy treat was so good. Maybe this was just an off day for their bowls. As for the price, it was slightly on the expensive side however the bowl was a good size and you can tell they use premium ingredients so I don't mind paying the extra price. A Vegan haven! Corner beet is known for their toasts and there is a clear reason why - they are uber delicious! Came to try this with friends and we all left with very satisfied bellies. I ordered a lavender matcha with almond milk and it was super delicious. I ordered the Hill which was one of the best toasts I have tried, so much so that I try to make it at home now. The toast was so authentic and I added garlic to it to add some flavor and an egg for some protein. I know they primarily serve vegan things, but u have the option to add an egg I believe and that's it. My friend ordered the Bahn Mi and she loved it! My other friend ordered the Açaí bowl and she loved it too! On an all everything was just as expected and probably more.
