Average is the best words to describe this place. The good. Everything was made fresh to order. The bad the place is pretty run down looking not that this affects the food but it does speak to probably a bigger issue. Everything I had was fine but nothing was great. That included the service sadly. I probably will try other places in the area in the future rather than coming back though. read more

About as far from fancy as you can get but it's still clean. The Corner Cafe is clearly the spot for the locals. It's not close to much and it doesn't look like much from the outside, but I had a fine breakfast. Oh man... Huge portions and at a decent price. Very friendly service and the short order cook keeps cranking out the orders. Our drinks were always filled with the friendliest of staff. I had the hamburger steak with hashbrowns and 2 scrambled eggs. Everything was cooked as ordered and the hamburger steak was more than enough to fill me up Not sure yet if the pepper was free or not but the waitress came to me just before our food was delivered and asked if I wanted a pepper. I said sure and when my food was delivered my plate had a nice pablano pepper with it. Well done guys! This has been my favorite breakfast spot in Battle Creek for years and even though I moved away 25 years ago I still go back when I am in town. It is "just" a good old school diner like you used to find across the state. Lots of options on menu. My regular option is the biscuits and sausage gravy with an egg and hashbrowns. The biscuits are crumble and absorb the rich meaty gravy and Ted (owner) makes crisp hashbrowns on his flattop grill like none I have had anywhere. This is a local place with lots or regulars and the decor and exterior are nondescript. The prices are great and portions are large. They also do great lunch food and I still dream of the chili dogs even though it has probably been ten years. read more

This is the most friendly place I've ever been to. I was greeted before fully making it in the door. I found my seat and was seen within 30 seconds. The coffee was awesome. Had a good flavor. The prices are very affordable. When our food was brought to us, my boyfriend had a jaw dropping moment when his omelette was put in front of him. I will abosoluty be back. This is a great little cafe. We were wanting to try them, and not sure how it would go but we were won over. The parking lot was full except the single spot that we had just taken. The dining room is cozy. The staff are very friendly and love their regulars, and it was obvious the regulars love this place. The food was very good, and was reasonably priced. The staff were very accommodating to us with a 2 year old, and did whatever they could to help keep him occupied and scaring away all the customers with his screaming. We had the Chili Cheese Dogs, Corned Beef Hash, and Chicken Strips. The food was amazing, not sure what we are going to try next. There were some people who were eating off menu, so they might have a secret menu, or that they just love their regulars enough to make them something special. I look forward to coming back here. If you decide to check this place out, don't forget your CASH. They are a CASH ONLY restaurant. I didn't know this. They were kind enough to not have me arrested, but allowed me to drive to the ATM to get some cash. I was very pleased with them being so accommodating. I would recommend they mark this on the front door, and on the menu's, and possibly even have the wait staff let you know before you order, just to save some embarrassment. read more

Four people were at the Corner Cafe this morning, service was excellent as was the food. I'm from Texas so I had to have the Texas Breakfast which included eggs, American fried potatoes and of course a piece of beef. All was prepared exceptionally well very tasty. I would highly recommend this place for breakfast and or lunch. Great local little diner that serves locals (regulars) as well as non locals. VERY FRIENDLY SERVICE and great food. Loved the food, excellent serving size for the prices. The pancakes were especially fluffy. Pretty cool that they're open at 6am, I may even come in before work! Stopped in for lunch and ordered burgers, fries, onion rings and soft drinks. The burgers were probably 1/3 pounders, the fries crisp on the outside and fluffy o the inside, the rings nicely battered and crisp. The best part? $17 for the 4 of us! read more

Hands down best breakfast in Battle Creek. I come here every morning whenever I'm back in Battle Creek. For the ultra inexpensive pricing here you can barely make it at home for the same price. The food is good most days when teddy is on the ball, my only complaint is the prices change for the same thing you get all the time. It depends on the day the time and his mood and the portions he decides to give you, so the menu is inaccurate on the price.
