Okay bar. It has some good moments. This isn't the best there is. But it can be fun. Good for late nights or sports. This is one of the newer bars. It has the usual beer. On tap selections include mass produced stuff like Bud, but there is Shock Top. A few of these are local beers. Food is average. It's typical bar food. Things like burgers, fries, and wings. Can get busy. Especially for football. Please avoid on football weekends. read more

So on volleyball weekend again and another great find. Just redid the menu- finger foods and street tacos.... starters with pretzel bites and the queso is perfect. 4 tacos- carne Asada, Mahi, carnitas and pollo queso... WOW! They were all great! Our party of six people walked in before a football game for a quick drink. There was only one waitress/bartender working and it wasn't very busy. The bartender said she would be right with us then proceeded to clean multiple tables and most of the bar. A couple of guys came out from the back a few times looking worried but didn't help pour drinks or clean up. (I found out later from the bartender that they were setting up from a couple of events in the neighboring bars) After about 30 - 40 minutes waiting patiently at the bar we finally got service from the bartender. She rattled off five unknown types of craft draft beer. There were no mainstream options just 3 IPAs, a red, and a cider. We got 2 pitchers of the Undead red. It was one of the worst beers I've ever had and we had two full pitchers of it. We tried to go downstairs where our party of six could sit comfortably. Since there was only one person working we we're told we couldn't go downstairs. Everyone choked it down our terrible beer and we walked out extremely dissatisfied. Summary: Waited 40 minutes for crappy and expensive ($18/pitcher) beer. read more

As our last dance in Oxford, OH we decided to try this place. In a collage town with mostly average food, yes we have tried almost every place, this place stands out. First, you could actually have a conversation and your shoes do not stick to the floor. The waiter was attentive, knowledgable, and engaged in conversation. Other reviews caution about staff but out experience was exceptional. The food was excellent. My wife had a dressed up grilled cheese. It was very tasty and not greasy. I had a burger that was cooked to exact temperature and very juicy/tasty. We share waffle fries and a Caesar salad. We told the waiter we liked crispy fries and these were. The manager Andy is the worst manager I've ever met. He's rude and is driving away costumers! Ive never had someone rip my IDs out of my hand and slam my drinks down like he did. He was rude to his employees and everyone there and had a terrible attitude/ energy. He spent the night screaming at his employees. We definitely won't be getting drinks at corner ever again. This place used to be The Smokin' Ox. Inside, everything is completely renovated. The new bench seats actually make you want to sit there longer whereas the previous ones in this place's former life simply wanted you to eat and go ASAP. Our waitress provided impeccable service. Great food and mixed atmosphere. Something for everyone. We had a fantastic toasted ravioli for an appetizer and about 40 beer selections lots of wines and the usual selection of liquor and mixers. Big favorite is the Chicken Parmesan sandwich and the Ham and Turkey Panini. Burgers that I saw going by I other tables looked pretty gourmet. Five stars for the food, two stars for the service. We came in on a weekday for lunch, the place was relatively empty aside from some folks watching the game at the bar. The burgers are excellent, and the loaded potato skins are great, too. To date it's the best burger I've had in Oxford, cooked to order and not skimping on the beef. The fries are great, too, especially the garlic fries. Unfortunately, despite being the only table getting food, our waiter (who I think was also the bartender) only stopped by to give us water, take our order, and bring the food. It may have been that they were understaffed being a weekday. But I always give more credit for food than for service; the best service in the world can't make up for mediocre food, but here the food definitely makes up for the service. read more

People .... Good people that is the key to success. After a couple of visits and trying a few different menu items I recommend this place to several friends who joined me on Friday night. A few of us arrived early sat at the bar ordered dinner a kind and dedicated very personable girl served us. She will no doubt go on and be successful. Several others joined me as the evening went on and she closed out the end of her shift and turned is over to the grumpiest person I've encountered in a long time who made us feel as if we were not welcome in his establishment as we proceeded to order more food and beer in his fairly empty place. I closed out my second check of the night as he tells me he missed cashing out one of the people that had joined me and already left - he was supposed to be on his groups tab and they had separated him out. So being a good person I settled up his tab only to find later that they indeed have charged both of us! It was not busy you should have be more than welcoming and appreciative of our business and better organized. read more

Corner Bar is pretty good as far as food goes - their burger melt is out of this world - but NEVER and I mean NEVER EVER order their Garlic fries. I wanted to like this place. The menu looks good, the craft beer selection is awesome, and the location and setup are great too. BUT when we walked in at 9p on a Friday night, we were deliberately ignored by the bartender ("Coffee", I guess). And by "deliberately", I mean we were not greeted or even acknowledged by him whatsoever. Another bartender came on shift 10 minutes or so later, and she was very sweet and attentive. If not for her, we would have walked out. She helped us pick a flight of beer, and when we had a question she didn't know the answer to, she asked "Coffee" to help us. He promptly ignored that, went about cleaning glasses, working on the computer, running food to tables, etc, without even a glance in our direction. I worked in the restaurant industry for six years, and I can't believe how outright rude this bartender was. After about 20 minutes, he then informs the other [competent] bartender (not us directly) that they've switched over to the late night menu. So the dinner we'd been considering was no longer an option, and if we wanted to eat our options were 6 or so fried, drunk-food options. No thanks. I'd like to give this place another chance, but we were so turned off by our first experience here that it's unlikely. We walked across the street to Mac and Joes and have had exceptional service and great food, and I'm glad we didn't end up settling for superbly craptastic customer service. read more

One of the newer restaurants in Oxford, and also one of the only places that sells beer to go in growlers. They have a modest selection of Craft beers on tap while most other places only have craft beer in bottles or cans. The food is good and the portions are big. They have a big selection of hotdogs with various toppings, as well as some unique sandwiches and burgers. Definitely a good choice! read more
