I had a not so great experience a few weeks back. Waited 1 hour & half for 2 orders of pancakes & some bacon/sausage. Was really disappointed & turned off. Decided to give it another go today because I really like their pancakes. Service was friendly & quick, environment was casual & comfortable. More like it. The place is small but the food and atmosphere were both great. I ordered their Mexican omelette and he ordered a breakfast special, also a omelette. Both were delicious and we were very satisfied. Real orange juice too, not that Minute Maid machine garbage. They're cash only, but the people were very understanding about us not having cash. They directed us to an ATM and told us to come back and pay but to take our time, no rush. My only complaint is that service was pretty slow that day, but it wouldn't discourage me from going back. I just might not pick it if I wanted something quick to eat. I will definitely go back to this place. read more

As a chef for over ten years it's great to see a perfect omelette not a speck of brown, well seasoned and fluffy. Koffee Korner is my go-to breakfast spot, I can't get enough!! They serve La Colombe coffee, which is super bonus points in my book. I usually order pancakes which are seriously delicious and addicting, especially when there's some kind of crazy pancake special (I wish it was every day!). Until 6 months ago, my review here would absolutely have been 5 stars. I've been going to Koffee Korner for literally 20 years, back when the original owners (Gerd and his wife - from Scandinavia) comprised the staff. The food has always been reliably good, if not outstanding, until probably the last 6-8 months. It's still usually good, but sometimes it's just not, and it's so disappointing. I was served a plate of pancakes a few weeks back that were lukewarm at best. I should have sent them back, but opted not to. The servers and staff who've been there a long time remain friendly friendly and eager to please. I've seen several different cooks over the last few months, (since long-timer Christie left), and there is a very definitive decrease in quality control and consistency. Most notably to me is that the place is very dirty - syrup bottles sticky every time, crumbs piling up in corners of the window sills, tables with dried "stuff" that weren't properly cleaned between customers...just sort of skeevy. (I'm no clean freak, so that this is evident to me says something!) I have loved this place for a very long time and hope that they are able to survive as newer, fresher, cleaner, and better places continue to open in Media. And I hope my next review will be back to 5 stars! read more

Best breakfast place in Media. Seating is limited, but incredibly worth the wait. On a weekend I suggest getting there between 7:30 and 10, otherwise you will have a much longer wait. Weekdays I can usually show up anytime and get a table. The food is always super delicious. I generally get the special of the day which changes depending on the freshest ingredients they have on hand (examples include cornbread pancakes stuffed with ham, cheddar, and gravy, apricot oatmeal with honey, and pumpkin churro pancakes). The huevos rancheros with avocado is also one of my favorites. The staff is always very friendly and I love this place! read more

Came here for breakfast this morning- 1st time! Food was really good- solid breakfast food. I had a western omelet which came with hash browns. The cube potatoe kind- and they had some sort of salt seasoning on them which WAS AWESOME. My boyfriend got the choc chip pancakes and liked them, and also loved how the coffee was fresh and popping hot! The staff was on their game too- one of them had a Notorious B. I. G. Shirt on - very awesome. All staff helped out and was very friendly. Its a hole in the wall kind of place, so that's good, although id prefer jelly packets. Instead of a big thing sitting out on the tables. But you should definitely go! read more

Koffee Korner was not clean and seemed to be poorly managed. The service was deplorable. Our every request was met with a blank stare and an unhelpful response from the waitress. Years ago, I waited on tables myself and always tip generously when the service is fair and very generously when the service is good to excellent. We left a good tip but I will not be returning. I would highly recommend Hot Spot Diner in Newtown Square. It was everything Koffee Korner was not: clean, offering great food and even better service! read more

Great little unassuming gem of a breakfast place found this morning looking for somewhere open on New Years Day. Food was excellent, staff were cool and friendly. We are generally not big fans of places that take themselves too seriously, especially for breakfast. I have eaten here 5 times. Usually the experience is decent. However my last visit was horrible. 1) We got a table and needed to chat about some private stuff. Ten minutes into our meal the waiter asked if he could move the other table away. We said sure. He moved it an inch. We pointed out that we were not interested in dining with strangers. He said that they had 2 couples...so we offered to move to the counter. After we moved they seated one couple in our spot. And did not thank us for moving. My restaurant owning friends were shocked at this...as you do not move customers. Well...ok 2) I ordered the most expensive item, the special Sausage gravy and biscuits. 11.95$ What did I get? gravy, mostly cornstarch, potatoes, and ONE pillsbury biscuit, cut in half. Not biscuitS,ONE Biscuit. Not satisfying at all. We ended up going across the street to Iron hill for a beer and a snack after this. 3) When the register guy asked how our experience was, we told him some of this and that we were not thrilled. He laughed it off. Unconcerned. 4) I posted this review before. Looks like they got Yelp to take it down. So I am re-posting. Said they needed to step things up a bit, and I would not be back for a while. They replied. But they did not do the normal thing and apologize for the experience. This is what I got in reply...and have this stored in my email as evidence: Steve G. sent you a message on Yelp: Subject: Koffee Korner "I find it interesting that u feel the need to express in writing how upset you are about a single event.
