Rita and Matt always take great care of us. We all love it there, which is why we keep going back. If the Court Diner weren't consistently good, we'd go somewhere else. Food is heavy, atmosphere is beautiful if you like to watch MASH and be around the elderly. Not bad. Anyways, I can't even remember what I ordered because the food was all one color. My dad and I stopped here one night for dinner on the way home from Springfield. I always drive past here and see it on my way through Media so thought, why not let's try it. Things we liked - My dad got eggplant rollatini and thought it was ok. Things we didn't like - The wait time with our server. She would disappear for large portions of time, meanwhile other tables with other servers were in and out before us. The calamari looked like onion rings. They were huge rings that were breaded and fried to almost a burnt crisp and the marinara sauce was plain and tasteless. I had a turkey panini that didn't have any type of toothpick or holder. When you picked it up, the sandwich immediately fell part with all the ingredients sliding out and being a huge mess. The fries were bland, overly cooked and not appealing at all. Our server may have been new, but she asked about our food after we ate it and when we shrugged, she said "she would never order it from here herself." It's not a diner I would try again. read more

The service was great. Our waitress was sweet and funny and took good care of us. The diner was clean and fairly quiet. The food was mediocre, though. Unfortunately. It was bland. We ordered the Reuben, and there was no dressing on it and barely any saurkraut, which, if you know what kind of sandwich that is, those are main components! The homemade perogies were potato and cheese. They, too, weren't seasoned. We also ordered the shrimp pasta, which, again, bland. I ended up bringing it home and fixing it up. Court Diner was the fist restaurant we visited indoors at the lull of the pandemic. We did go in there with significant trepidation; only one of us was fully vaccinated, awaiting the minimum time between shots. But what we saw, gave us comfort and a sense of safety. The Court Diner has been a timeless dining icon in Media foe generations. And it survives because of the same tradition that it has made it a generational venue.. No frills, excellent food, comfortable chairs, fast and efficient service, and a friendly attitude from the staff. We were seated within minutes of arriving there for brunch. There was an ambiance of safety, with staff masked appropriately. Food was superb as always. I had the Chorizo omelet which was finger-licking awesome. My spouse had the eggs Benedict and that was also memorable. Having moved away to Northern New England, I look forward to coming here when we're visiting family. Everything we got for breakfast seemed like it was whipped together as fast as possible, with very little regard for presentation or quality. Everything was either overcooked, not hot, or bland. I'll start out by saying our waitress was awesome. Don't remember her name (Jen, maybe?) but she was polite and very attentive. Service was fast as well and portions were generous. My grandmother and sister seemed to enjoy their meals (Cheesesteak and breakfast platter) however my salad fell short. While the presentation was great, my last mouthful of cranberries had literally the WORST aftertaste (almost chemical) and I had to spit them out in a napkin. I've been to Court Diner a number of times over the years, most recently with my daughter and her family for breakfast this past Veteran's Day. We showed up at 10, had a wonderful breakfast, and made it to the parade at 11 with time to spare. All that with a toddler and a baby in tow!!! I enjoyed a delicious chorizo, pepper, onion and cheese omelet. So good! Their home fries are different than most, as they are super thin slices of potatoes. I enjoyed those as well. Our waitress was great - my daughter was excited to see that her "favorite waitress" would be serving us. Looking forward to going again sometime, hopefully sooner rather than later. read more

The media court diner is nestled up on a nice little perch off Baltimore Ave in Media, PA. I'm new to the area, but I fit right in here. Christmas music is still playing only days before the new year, just the way I like it. I came here last week as a breakfast on a half day of work, treated by my awesome boss. I enjoyed it so much I couldn't get it out of my head to come back. On another half day before the new year, the house was empty so I decided to mosey on down to the court for a plate of cream chipped beef - my diner go-to. I was greeted by who seems to be at the very least a head waitress in the joint. She was extremely lovely and quick with everything I asked for; albeit not much: coffee & a glass of water. I put my two sugars and a half & half in, gave it a stir, and took in the views that surrounded me at my corner spot at the bar. Drawings from children to the staff hanging on the walls, a great looking dessert case and of course a soda fountain serving all the favorites. Hell, they even had three beers on tap. All I could hear over the Christmas music was the constant chatter of regulars & staff that filled the room with a homeliness that only be found in a place like this. Everyone knows each other, and everyone comes back for a reason. Great food, and great service. Something restaurant employers forget these days is that people DO want to work and love to do it, in a place that they're treated well - especially in a family-like environment. When the food got to me, a ripe twelve minutes past me ordering, it was perfect. You couldn't have painted a plate of chipped beef that looked as good as this one. I enjoyed it throughly, all the while sipping my coffee and enjoying the scenery. The place's dining room to my left looks like your grandparents living room, fireplace and all. The exposed beams and the chosen colors really give it that homely touch that I look for in a diner. The chrome covered diners with the 1950s style are a completely other beast. There's nothing but dazzling things to look at. But at a diner like this, I feel like I can leave my worries at the door and come to place where everyone will know your name sooner than later. It had been a while since I had been here, but I gave them a shot tonight. I'm really glad I did. This place is a diner, but really isn't in some ways if you know what I mean. They have many dishes that are standard diner fare. But the menu isn't crammed with everything under the sun like at a lot of diners. I went for an old diner standby, chicken croquettes. the meal came with soup, and the Country Chicken soup was as good as any soup I've had at a diner. The meal itself was actually quite excellent. The croquettes were not overly big, but they were done with the right consistency. And my biggest test of any diner is the vegetables. Too many places give you the side dish of veggies that taste like they were out of the can and nuked to death. These were fresh and presented right. Since my meal included dessert, and I couldn't decide between the bread and rice pudding, the waiter was nice enough to give me a sampling of both in the same dish. Very nice touch, and the homemade puddings were good enough for me to consider licking the dish when I was done. That made his tip a little bigger when the check came. Best part... total dinner bill with soup, entree, and dessert with soda was around 10 bucks. I would like to see them open longer hours (diner hours) but they do take cards instead of only cash which is convenient for a diner. I've eaten breakfast there twice and recommend one of the omelets with homefries. I've had both the western and chorizo ones and both tasted very good. The Court Diner is a cozy little Delco diner and definitely caters to the locals which is nice these days. The wait staff seem like that's been their trade for many years which is also rare and nice to have these days. Go for breakfast or brunch! read more

Love this place so much. I'm not ashamed to admit that we go weekly with our three (mildly behaved) kids who are 5, 4, and 1. The service is everything you hope for - speedy, attentive, with hot and delicious food. We like the specials - French toast, pancakes, and veggie omelette (I add feta). It is consistent and the kids are huge fans. We've come for dinner a couple of times which is also solid. It's got a homey feel inside with big booths and wood tables. Sorry to give a negative review because this place is a much loved family restaurant in Media. I used to love it, but this time, I was afraid we would all get food poisoning. Each dish was disgusting in its own way. My salmon was overbroiled and the asparagus stringy, unflavored and inedible. My son's meatballs were grey, and he said they were too disgusting to eat. My youngest's breakfast for dinner came with a few specks of scrambled egg and ungenerous bacon, plus a side of oldish, brownish strawberries we ordered on the side. My son got the wrong soup; I tried the Italian wedding and the meatballs had a rotten aftertaste. Next day we aren't noticeably sick, but what is going on?! The service was friendly, but missed many things. It also took well over half an hour to get our food and I had to remind her to bring our soup, which she finally did, with the entrees. A disappointing dinner. At least, on the plus side, they are friendly and the prices haven't kept up with inflation. I cannot see wanting to eat here again anytime soon and I'm wishing the health department would look into it. read more

I may have eaten what is possibly the best French Dip I've ever had here. Stopped by in a time crunch to grab a bite before a meeting and was immediately seated. Not an overwhelming menu like most diners that I go to, but traditional items are on there so it's not difficult to find something you like. Ordered my old standby, the French Dip, and waited. It took a bit, and then my au jus wasn't included, but our server quickly remedied that. The bread is fresh, with a thing crust and just the right amount of meat, not too much and not too little. The au jus was deliciously seasoned to compliment the sandwich. Again, the amount of the accompanying french fries was just enough. There's outdoor seating and the dining room is decorated like granny's country dining room, which is a nice change from the Vegas neon-like interiors of so many diners. read more

With all the overrated trendy places on State Street, we have gotten frustrated at Media and have often seen it as a culinary wasteland. I would not go to Media for Michelin star gourmet (not that you even can, but some people seem to review like that's what they're after), but you can get really good standard all-American fare in Media, and the Court Diner is a great choice. I had not been to Court Diner since I was about 7 years old and my grandfather would take the family to Sunday breakfast. I am really sorry I have missed out all these years! Recently we had the Court Burger (comes with fries and coleslaw), the Pork Cubano Sandwich (also comes with fries & slaw), and the Lemon cake. The burger was actually FLAME BROILED, and you could taste it. SOOOO good, totally would not expect that from a diner, especially when all the other so-called "foodie" places on State Street wouldn't even attempt to do that. On A Roll's Angus burger? Please, Court Diner's Angus burger, is tons better, the taste, the flame searing, the roll, the fresh red leaf lettuce, the non-hydroponic tomato, etc. LEAGUES better than On A Roll, or Buddy's or wherever else they slap together a burger in Media (I can think of more I've tried but won't go on and on)... just get your burger fix at Court Diner and you won't be disappointed. The lemon cake was also extremely good. I do not think it was made on the premises, but I could be wrong. It tasted like a premium dessert from a supplier, which is not as good as chef-made, but I have been impressed over the years when restaurants pick a good one, and the lemon cake was GREAT! If they do make it there at Court, I am floored and will have to ask and give credit later. If they have some when you stop in, TRY it! SO good! Lemon, buttercream, walnuts, moist cake, creamy frosting, so good! This is kind of random, but their pickles are SO good. I was surprised at how homemade fresh they tasted, absolutely delicious! I am going to ask to buy a container of those things next time, I am craving them now! The Pork Cubano was good, but not as good as the burger. We both went back for the burger the next visit. (And they didn't have any more lemon cake, so hopefully next time...) The french fries were not so hot. Not crispy or cooked as well as we like. First and foremost I will go back, and I will try it again. The boss and I stopped in for Saturday morning breakfast. Very busy and for good reason, right on the main drag in town. We sat at the counter and ordered coffee and two meals. ATMOSPHERE: Diner feel and plenty of seating. Cheap prices on breakfast and friendly staff. Counters etc were clean and things were bustling. FOOD: I hate to say it and maybe it was the bottom of the pot but the coffee was AWFUL. I'm not a Starbucks snob and don't know what a half caf double latte venti is but I couldn't believe how bad it was. I ordered the pancakes with eggs and bacon - boss got the French toast with eggs and bacon. Food was very good. I hate that the coffee started us on the wrong foot. Pancakes were a little mealy in the middle but I enjoyed the crisp to the pancake. Both real maple syrup and pancake syrup available. SERVICE: Very friendly service. Huge fan of the people who work there. I will be back, have to get the coffee right though. read more
