My husband chose the Seafood Platter, which came generously loaded with three shrimp, a large piece of fish, fries, onion rings, and hush puppies, more than enough to bring leftovers home. We also started with an appetizer featuring a half-and-half combination of mushrooms and fried jalapeño peppers, which was a great way to kick off the meal.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ The staff was pleasant and hardworking, though a few organizational hiccups such as a table that needed cleaning upon arrival, a missing side dish, and having to make repeated requests for condiments kept the service from matching the quality of the food. During my travels I come across gems that really impress me. The Corral did that and more during my visit here. When I arrived, there was a wonderful gentleman and artist painting Christmas greetings on the windows. I was greeted and my server Calise got me some water while I looked over the menu. Everything sounded good so I asked Calise for a recommendation...the Chopped Steak dinner was her choice, and I went with it. This is a solid...rib sticking good meal. The mushroom and onions in the gravy really added great flavor, the "steak" perfectly cooked, and the mashed potatoes were homemade and good. I went for the onion rings because they are homemade and they were really good! I enjoyed how Calise explained the kitchen here...apart from five items, everything is freshly cooked from scratch. I really enjoyed the fun atmosphere here, these folks make you feel at home. First time coming. Not a lot of people but enough. Our server appeared to be new and could t remember that we were seated. After ordering our drinks we had to ask for them again. O er ten minutes of wait time. As workers stood around and chatted we were left waiting to be served. One server was definitely on her game. Quite disappointing. Food was not fantastic as I did not finish any of it. With the exception of the female server everybody just stood around like they don't have a job. Enjoyed a lunch here with my wife. I had the Jalapeño smash burger and she had the fish tacos. Both meals were really good although she was not a fan of queso corn. I had the onion rings with my burger and they were delicious. Prices were standard and they had a nice menu. They will be serving crawfish this year. Great spot, large portions and our waitress was really friendly. I had the chicken fried steak which you get two sides with. I picked the mashed potatoes and 5 Cheese Mac & Cheese and it was all delicious. I mainly got the mac & cheese so my wife and daughter could try it out because they are connoisseurs of anything cheese and they loved it. My wife and daughter both got the creamy baked potato soup and they loved that. We had fried pickles for an appetizer as well, they were also good but the great part was they gave us each our own little ranch cup for the appetizer and that was a nice tough since we are always out of ranch in 27 seconds. Prices weren't bad either. We recommend this place and we'll be back. read more

There have been mult restaurants at this location over the past 20 years and the first one retired, second one moved, third one didn't make it, fourth was more of a caterer, etc., and it's been sad to not have a good place like this nearby. I am always here eating something but at dinner there is no senior citizens menu. I am a senior but will not order regular dinners unless someone is with me to help eat it The prices for one meal are around 18.00 for dinner but I can't eat but about a third of it. That's my only complaint. The food is good. I just hate wasting. I don't like microwave food. So I waste so much money at dinner Can we please have smaller portions and smaller dollars. The staff are all awesome. They work hard to make sure your taken care of. The food is always hot and great!! Lunch time visit, crowded but half a dozen empty tables. Waitress took our drink order, then 15 min later, our appetizer and meal order. 20 min later, appetizer arrived. We knew they were busy, but the crow had thinned and it was slowing down at this point. Another 15 min my husban'ss soup arrived, a seafood gumbo, with almost no actual seafood in it. Maybe half a cup in a big, giant bowl of broth with a bit of white rice in the middle. $17.00 was steep, though he says it tasted good. My grilled chicken salad never arrived.......waited patiently until the waitress had a conversation with the kitchen that she needed a grilled chicken salad. She had assured me 10 minutes prior that m y food was on the way. When it came, it was good, but.......we won;t be back again. Service matters, as does price. Soup and a salad should not take almost an hour, ever. We watched half a dozen tables come in after us, get their food, eat and pay an d leave before I saw a salad. All around this is the best restaurant not only in Willis Texas but the whole county and every county touching. Never waiting, service is top notch! Waiters and waitress alike are kind, professional, quick, helpful, and never let a glass run empty. The prices are beyond fair in this economy but our favorite part is the food.
