Our waitress (slender build) seemed extremely disinterested from the moment we sat down--very bland and unwelcoming. She didn't offer basics like bibs or gloves, which we ended up having to request from another waitress, who kindly apologized on her behalf. What was most disappointing is that our server never checked on us the entire time--we only saw her again after we had finished our meal. It just felt like there was no attention or care given to our table. The food, without a doubt, was good. Easily one of the best cajun places ive been to. The shrimp taste decently fresh and their house sauce (some short of cajun) was pretty amazing. They give you a decent amount of sauce too. I had leftover sauce that i dipped my fries in. The calamari was decent, just too much breading. I could barely taste the calamari itself. It is a huge portion with fries though, so that's a plus. A few doors down was The Crab Shack, the menu looked good, so we went there. The atmosphere was fun and it smelled amazing. We ordered the soft shelled crab appetizer with onion rings, sweet potato fries, a burger and clam chowder. There were three soft shelled crabs, so perfect to share with the three of us. Crispy, juicy and flavorful, I'm still thinking of them. The onion rings and fries were delicious as well. The clam chowder was THE BEST we'd ever had!! And we are clam chowder eaters!! Real clams, in their shells, as well as large clams, celery and potatoes-sooo good! The burger was big, juicy and had bacon in the patty. I got two to go for hubs and son at home. We opted to try this place once we were unable to add ourselves to the waitlist at boiling crab. There was no wait here, we were seated right away. We ordered a pound of shrimp each. They are unable to do half orders. We also got fries and garlic noodles to share. The garlic noodles were tasty but they were lacking some spice. The sauce the shrimp comes in was good but different than what I'm used to. The fries took longer than anything else to be ready so that was a little odd. We ordered chicken tender (comes with fries) and a pound of shrimp for takeout. The box they put the chicken tender had a black stamp of their logo. However by stamping the box, the ink managed to splattered into the ventilation hole and ended up on the fries and one of the chicken tender. We didn't want to make a big deal so we decided just to try and eat around it and call it a day, but as we went to eat the shrimp we found a hair in the sauce. It was a short black hair and we knew it wasn't ours since we all have long black hair. Also my sister who was handling the food had her hair secured back and was wearing a headband. At this point we lost our appetite and decided we wanted to get a refund. So we gave the store a call and explained the situation, they then told us we had to bring the food back to get the refund. Im not mad about the food quality because I know stuff like this can happen and it's nobody's fault. However I am irritated that they made us drive all the way back just for us to get a refund and on top of that we received no apology from the employee for the inconvenience this caused. In fact they made us feel like we were the one causing them inconvenience. Thats why Im giving this place a one star. Poor service and a lack of sympathy for their customers. I'm not a huge fan of the other popular place (Boiling.....) because it gives me an upset stomach every time I go eat there. So I've decided to give this place a try. The food here is delicious, but the restaurant appears to be understaffed. My buddy and I were waiting in line outside to get a table for what appeared to be approximately 15-20 minutes - which we found odd, as we could see inside the restaurant, and we were able to see not one but *two* tables that appeared to already be cleaned and ready for us to be seated (there was only 1 party ahead of us in line). I'm still not entirely sure why they made us wait outside for so long when they could have just seated us as soon as we got into line. After we were seated, it still took quite an unusually long while for us to get our order taken - this is not necessarily a criticism against the servers, as the two servers we saw appeared to constantly be hustling and did not appear to be dilly-dallying at any point (although I could almost swear our primary server seemed to be deliberately avoiding eye contact with us when we were trying to get her attention). A 3rd server would really have been beneficial while we were dining there (even if that would have resulted in higher menu pricing) - who knows, maybe there *was* supposed to be a 3rd server, and they called in sick that night. Luckily, after our order was finally taken, our food was served with great rapidity. Did I mention the food was delicious? In any case, if you don't mind a potentially long (and seemingly unnecessary) wait to get in here and get your order taken (along with less than comfortable seating), I think it's still worth the visit. read more

I'm a huge crab fan and we were excited to see this place pop up in our hood! Cute little patio area, nice industrial vibe inside too. My favorite thing, hands down, is the yummy shrimp/sausage garlic noodles or the shrimp garlic rice. both very yummy. So, yeah, the crab legs are good too definitely! We choose the medium heat and it was just a touch of spice, not too bad at all. Just not all that special. Nothing to choose this place over any of the other Crab Pots, Crab Boils, whatever they choose to name the places. But it is equally good, in my opinion. Market prices on quite a few items, so it is hard to tell what the bill will be. Expect a bag of crab legs and 2 dinners to run about $140 or so. That seems to be the average. Friendly enough service, hard to get refills on drinks though... same with getting the bill and receipt in a timely manner. Service tends to be a bit slow. On our first visit, I was impressed when I had full-blown crabby, buttery coated hands that our waitress offered to open the bathroom door for me in order for me to wash my hands. That was very sweet, an extra effort that did not go unnoticed. Thank you! Biggest tip though, get napkins ready prior to digging in to the crab legs bag!! Great spot for seafood needs. We were bummed when Oh Crab! Closed recently but found this great alternative. Bag of shrimp, mussels and clams with there buttery sauce and wild spice, was more than enough for a family of four. Ordered Uber eats from here on a Sunday evening. Seafood prices are outrageous these days. Snow crab was $40 and the crab legs were dry and not meaty at all. I suspect those were frozen for quite some time too. I asked sauce one the side so it wouldn't be so messy when I took the crab legs out. The sauce was super greasy and salty. So I ended up just throwing it away. I basically just ate the snow crab legs with some salt and pepper. Not a good time to order Cajun seafood boil these days. I went for lunch there today because they had the most delectable picture of a shrimp basket combo on their Instagram. I was not disappointed. The Cajun Shrimp & Fries was excellent and I'm already considering coming back for it. What I was not a fan of was the below average service in regards to attentiveness. When I asked for a refill on my root beer, it took five to ten minutes to get it. I even had to walk inside from my patio table to remind then. Subsequently, after the server dropped off the check, it took another five to ten minutes for it to be picked up again. Once more I felt obligated to stand up to ask if I needed to leave the bill with the credit card on the table or take it inside to be paid. I understand places get busy and a lapse in attention isn't a deal breaker. But it just seemed to me they are a fast casual place trying to be a full service restaurant. These kinds of problems could have been avoided had I been able to pay at the counter after ordering, and having a system in place where I could request a refill at the same counter. Full service is all well and good, but it requires servers being on the ball and checking each table in their section every so often. It really felt like after I got my food and drink they abandoned me. And that's a feeling no guest should ever have to endure. But, man, those Cajun shrimp do make a case to come back... read more

They do offer peeled shrimp but I enjoy the sauce dripping from the shrimps head and sucking on it!!!! It also comes with corn, potatoes and sausage! Then of course there are different levels of heat in the sauce. I got the equivalent to "the whole shebang" I just can't remember what they call it here. I loved it all, you get your little bib and the best part YOU GET GLOVES! So the stinky stays at the table! Lol! The parking is not a problem there's plenty. So there's no fighting or having to wait for a spot. The waitress let us know they are now open for lunch on the weekends so I know I'll be sneaking in for a pound of shrimp!! I have tried various Cajun style seafood places but am so happy that there is one so close by. The Crab Shack La Habra is such a great restaurant. The establishment is very clean and the staff is so attentive and friendly. What I liked the most is that there is a peeled shrimp option. I know that may be part of of whole experience at some other restaurants,but I prefer not having to get as messy,not that anything is wrong with having to peel your own shrimp...but if I have to pay a little more to bypass the laborious task of doing it ,I will.
