I have always liked Ostioneria Colima, because of the Campechanas generous size and taste ... to my surprise I went today and the price went up to $24.00 which I thought is worth it ... however I got home and to my surprise the large size was a 12 0unces cup with 6 shrimps and 6 pieces of octopus and the rest juice, tomatoes, onion and cilantro nothing more swimming in the cup and $1.50 for 4 small thin slices of avocado !! The customer service can definitely use some improvement, i placed a phone order for pick up on sunday 3/8/26 and was told it would be ready in 10 minutes. I arrived 15 minutes after i called and paid but my order was not ready, no problem i figured it would be a few mins more or that my order would be right out. This was not the case, i still had to wait an additional 20 minutes for my order, the place was not crowded either, maybe 10 people inside the restaurant at most. To top it off while i waited the lady at the counter took a phone order that was promptly prepped and ready to go before mine was ready. When I brought this to the manager's attention, their response was basically, "That's how we do it--it's normal." No apology. No offer to replace the dish. No refund or any attempt to make it right. Serving under‑cleaned seafood is a serious hygiene issue, and their complete indifference to a legitimate customer concern was jaw‑dropping. Comfort food if you like the combination of beer and seafood. (I wrote my first impressions as a draft until I revisited the restaurant, but Yelp tips are supposed to become invisible this Summer.) Now I know why this place so damn empty (only one customer) inside the restaurant when I pick up the tacos. This dirty place ruined my new year eve and new year day!!!! Avoid this place at all costs unless you want to get food poisoning! Also, the workers there don't give a damn about customer service, I called in for my to go tacos and they told me ready in 10 minutes...between traffic and rain, I got there 25 minutes later and ran up my bill then told me another 10 minutes while there only one customer inside the restaurant and 2 servers are just chilling and chatting with each other!!!! We came here a Friday during lent. Yes they were busy however there was no communication among the staff. One server made us sit at at a dirty table claiming someone would come clean it. Then another server came and asked us if we were eating at the restaurant or placing an order to go, as we were sitting at the dirty table. We told her we would be dining in. She asked us why we're sitting at the dirty table, we had the same question. We said another server told us to sit there and hadn't came back. The second server finally cleaned our table and took our order. When we finally ordered our food, the service got better. We both got the campechana. We also got some " Infierno shrimp" to share. I really wanted to like this place but my experience was just not good. I have driven by a number of times and it always seemed decently busy plus it's the only oyster bar I've seen in the area so I've been wanting to try it for a while. Before heading over I took a look at the reviews on here and they were very good so I had nothing but optimistic thoughts heading over. Important to note is that it was a Friday night and I was by myself. I went up to the counter inside, said that I was by myself and that I wanted to sit outside on the patio. I asked to see the menu and the woman directed me to be QR code on the table outside. I asked her if they had Wi-Fi and if I could have the password and she didn't know. She went on a search to find the answer, came back with a password but with no wifi name. That was a fail. I tired logging in to a few that showed up but nothing took. This place isn't quite an oyster bar as I was made to believe by the sign on the outside of the building. It's more of a Mexican seafood restaurant that has oysters. The chips were good. The salsa was spicy. I ordered a strawberry margarita. The photo showed frozen margaritas but the server informed me that they no longer had frozen. I ordered one anyway. When it arrived, it was overflowing with ice and it did not taste like a margarita at all. It was nice to see fresh strawberry muddled at the bottom but it was so sweet and I really don't think it had any alcohol in it. It really did not hit the spot. I also ordered a dozen oysters plus a tostada with mixed fish. Once they food arrived I learned that the tostada was topped with the exact same fish that came with the oysters...but the server didn't tell me that when I had ordered. I certainly didn't need need both so when the other staff member bought it out I just told her to cancel it and return it to the kitchen. The oysters same out smelling fishy. They were just average. There weren't different types of choose from so I got whatever they gave me. They have a bakers dozen which was generous (although I'm sure that cost is already built in). 12 were fine, one had a huge uncomfortable crunch. Yuck-Major turn off. I had asked for a water in addition to the margarita and that never came. The server never checked on me even once while I was eating so I ate, finished and went inside and pay my tab on my own accord. The other employee who helped me at the cash register provided me with the receipt showing the total. I handed over my credit card and the credit card receipt showed a different total so when I asked her about it she told me that there was a $.75 charge for the credit card. Was not informed of that in advance, plus that's just tacky for a restaurant. $31 for a dozen oysters and a drink. I left $.0 tip and headed out on my way. I would not return or recommend this place to anyone. read more

So I sat where they cook food and saw the cook be super unsanitary while cooking peoples food. Touching his face ,eating, & people sneezing in there & also someone was cleaning the floor mats taking them all out and then come back handing bleach bottles to the cook after he touch all the dirty floor mats the cook grabbing the bleach bottles and putting them down not washing his hands after he touched them grabbing food to cook for customers is super unsanitary and gross people can get sick. I hope I don't regret wring this review and end up having to wait to be seated. Lol The first time I came the food was fabulous but the music was so obnoxiously loud I couldn't hear myself think. Now the music is quieter and the food is even better. My wife's campechana was exploding with seafood. Super fresh, super flavorful and best of all... we don't have to add hardly anything, it's darn near perfect! Most places serve this bland crap you have to squeeze 10 limes and dump a half a salt shaker into it to make it edible. My fish tacos were fabulous and my camarones ceviche tostada was delicious. Ordered tacos and aguas chile. I didn't tip because of the wait, and they didn't give me the tostadas. 4/29/2018 This place is always crowded. They make the best fish and shrimp tacos. My favorite is the grilled. My husband loves their capechana They have this interesting salsa it tastes like its made with chili de arbol and habanero. I have coming to this place for the past 5 to 7 years. Not this particular location but the Ostioneria family. They are pretty crowded on the weekends and during Lent. I would suggest ordering your food ahead of time. They are completely buttoned with the current COVID not so normal.
