Looking for something to have for dinner with my girlfriend and pirates kitchen had good yelp reviews. We walked in and were seated immediately. Ordered drinks, and perused the menu. We settled on an order of garlic noodles with garlic bread for a starter and the seafood boil for 2 as a main. We substituted scallops for the craw fish as neither of us are big craw fish fans. There was an upcharge which we were fine with. The food came out quickly and was nice and hot. Since we ordered the everything seasoning it was well spiced and flavorful. We ate as much as we could and got a to go bag for the rest. It was more than my girlfriend could eat as leftovers the following day. Price was reasonable and the food was good quality and generous servings. We will return. Nice mom and pop restaurant feel, eat local. read more

I love this place. Have never reviewed but wanted to tonight. Me and my wife used to frequent here and since the kids all we can do is take out. The food was just as delicious as usual. all sides and sauces in bag. And, usually since i have to go pick up food, i have a drink or two while i wait. They were not judgmental at all like many places are. Im a busy parent, i dont have time to sit and enjoy myself. Im taking food back to the fam. Anyway, The server who i think may have been a manager or owner was extremely friendly, and talked to me while i had my drinks while waiting for food. Got home and everyone enjoyed their food! Which is great, many times take out for some reason is nowhere near as good, but the food was just as delicious as we remembered. Very friendly, delicious place. read more

Tried Pirate Kitchen recently and had a mostly good experience. The seafood cream pasta was rich and tasty--definitely the highlight of the meal. However, the calamari in the dish was unfortunately very rubbery, which took away from the overall enjoyment. I also ordered the raw oysters, and while they were fresh, they lacked flavor and didn't really stand out. That said, the service was excellent! The staff was super attentive, friendly, and made us feel very welcome. I'd consider giving it another shot to try other menu items because the vibe and service were spot on. read more

Ordered 1lbs of shrimp head on mild was ok 1lbs of clam mixed seasoning 1lbs of shrimp peeled Cajun fries Chicken tender Garlic noodle, tastes good but small portion. My personal favor is cajun style head on shrimp. Fresh, not too salty, little bit different taste compare to boiling crab, but I liked it. Different but delicious~ Added potatoes, corn, and sausages. They gave us large potatoes, and liked it!!! Fried side order was great. Very crispy and good price. The chicken tender meat was fresh. Pirates Kitchen is a pretty local spot for us. It's not a very big place but as soon as you enter you will notice the lit up decor, wooden statues, and pirates decor. We were greeted by the host/waitress who was friendly and attentive. We weren't very hungry so we ordered the seafood cream pasta, chips and guacamole, and terra beer. Beer came out first as we wait for our food. The chips were so crunchy and made fresh, the best chips we ever had! Dipped it in fresh guacamole made it the perfect combo. Seafood pasta was extremely creamy, it has definitely earned its name 'creamy'! It came with mussels, squid, and shrimp which made it a seafood delight, I was pleasantly impressed! Food and service was great. It was a Weekday evening, so it wasn't too busy. We don't care for crawfish, so we were able to substitute for scallops instead and just pay the price difference. My favorite spot for cajun shrimp/seafood boil! I've been here several times and always leave happy and satisfied. There's a parking lot, not too big, but never had issues finding parking. They also have outdoor/patio seating in the front and the restaurant is always clean inside. We're always greeted by the same, sweet lady. I get 1 lb of shrimp head on ($16 per lb) and add one corn ($1). The full house sauce is good and I love how the shrimp is never soggy and they're big! Cajun fries ($7) are also a must here. My sister and I were craving seafood boil the other day and unfortunately we didn't have any near our area so we drove out about 50 minutes for Pirates Kitchen in La Habra, and I'm so happy we did :DD When we arrived, we were a bit confused because it seemed very empty, there were no eating customers at 9:30pm on a Tuesday night, which meant we received very fast and attentive service! The owner of the store seemed to be working at the time we came in, and because it was just the 3 of us, we had some very entertaining conversations :) Thank you for accommodating our requests for music!! We made 3 different orders. The first was 1 lb crawfish, 1 lb snow crab, both in full house sauce, and an order of garlic noodles. There are the typical 3 flavors: cajun, lemon, and garlic, but we found it interesting that they had a sauce that combined all of them, full house, so we wanted to try that. Our second order was 1 lb of crawfish in garlic butter, and our third was another lb of crawfish in cajun. (I think we would've ordered more if only we came earlier because they were closing up as we were finishing up). Everything was sooo yummy and definitely filled our cravings :) Out of the 3 sauces we tried, full house was our favorite because we thought it was the one with the most flavor. The garlic butter is good if you want seafood boil but don't want that spice flavor you would get from cajun or full house. But if you do want spice, definitely go with the latter. We got the spicy level as mild, but I wish we got medium because it wasn't really spicy at all. I think my spice tolerance might be a little higher though because my sister found it a bit spicy :P But out of everything, I loveedd the garlic noodles. I wish I ordered more of it or another dish. My sister's favorite was the snow crab in full house sauce. I think you wouldn't go wrong with anything on the menu! This location also seems to be korean inspired, so they had options like kimchi fried rice and soju on the drinks menu. In terms of ambiance, it's very cutely decorated with a pirate theme. La Habra! You're sleeping on this place, the sauce is so tasty, dare I say better than crab boil, yes it really is better. I want to order a tub of it. Friendly service, very nice and accommodating. It is nice and spacious and cool air inside. They have plenty of TVs for anything you want to watch including sports. They also have good music. A great portion of alcohol & draft beer. This place was OK. Very nice open air feeling. Your food is served in a plastic bag and you eat with your fingers was not impressed with the clam chowder. Could've been a little more hearty seemed very watered down not a lot of clams and was gritty, not a lot of flavor. We ordered the first mate which was $65, came with boiled potatoes, 2 corn on the cob sausage, shrimp with heads on and crawfish, mussels and clams. You pick your sauces which were okay. This place is located in a small strip of stores and restaurants. Parking can be a little tight depending on the time of day you go. We went on a Monday around 1pm. It was pretty empty and we were greeted and seated right away. The menu had pretty standard items at any other Cajun/seafood boil. The appetizer I wanted was the street corn. It was roasted and had a little kick. I also did the pound of shrimp with the head on mild with PK sauce. I personally thought is had the right amount of spice the only thing I was a little sad about it didn't have any raw garlic but you can definitely ask to add it, which I will do next time. OMG, so good! No matter what you are there for, get these! The Garlic Noodles are VERY garlicky and also pretty plain all by themselves, I would suggest adding some shrimp or scallops to them. But they are good by themselves, just a little plain is all. We were excited to try the clam chowder on our last visit, it is very buttery, which is an odd texture to us that are familiar with the more traditional clam chowder which is thicker and more creamy rather than buttery.... but that being said, it was very tasty and packed full of potatoes and clams! Very good! You can even get it in a bread bowl. I want to tell you we've tried the Cajun.... but we haven't, neither of us are much of a fan. But it smells great and plenty of people are ordering it while we are there. Maybe one day we'll test it out anyway. We do love the seafood here! There are tons of seafood options, plus some wings too. Pricing is a bit on the high side but that tends to happen with seafood places, it's not shockingly high, just higher than it probably should be. Went on Memorial day, met up with a friend and since it was a holiday, plenty of parking. They have an open patio into their seating area with Tvs showing sports channels inside, truly a bar/pub restaurant. We ordered street corn(a must), calamari, jambalaya with rice, and a lb of steamed snow crab. I hate hate hate cracking crab but I did it and it was worth it, meat was sweet and tender, got my fill for awhile and I did enjoy the jambalaya as well. Calamari was good also. Price was really good for seafood, service was attentive, easy to get help if we needed anything. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by how clean everything was, and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. We ordered a pound of head-on shrimp (hot) and a side of Cajun fries. The shrimp spice levels range from mild to 911, and next time, we might just go for the 911. Best of all, the prices were very reasonable. A fairly new Cajun seafood restaurant in the neighborhood. Place is very open and spacious. Atmosphere is relaxing and low key. It's also a sports bar with good selections of beers. Menu had usual Cajun seafood items, also extended items like pasta and rice. I liked it had more varieties like fusion Korean items since it's a Korean owned seafood restaurant. We decided on gumbo soup, fish & chips, clams and Dungeness crab by lb. The full house sauce was very flavorful and not too salty. They offered 5 spicy levels, the hot level was pretty spicy for me. Seafood was fresh and meaty, I find the prices are lower than similar restaurants. The beer list was good and it's also a full bar to my surprise. Service was friendly and attentive.
