I found the CHG through Yelp! I had a very good dinner at the bar with Amanda as my Bartender. I had the kimchi grilled cheese with a side of Mac n cheese. The kimchi was spicy and worked well with the grilled cheese; I would have preferred that the kimchi be more shredded. I upgraded to a side of Mac and cheese and I was not disappointed! They have a very nice micro selection and their beers are linked with untappd, very nice. Some cool selections last evening, and I got 2 crowlers to go! Plenty of parking. The top thing I ordered was the Dancing Gnome IPA. It was the best thing I had here. The food seemed to be centered around burgers. We did not get the burgers. I suspect that was the issue. It was summer when we went and they had the doors wide open to the back deck. The place was empty at 4pm on a Saturday. It filled up slightly by 5pm when we left. Because the doors were open, and we were like the only people in there, the flies swarmed us. It was gross. These were big ass flies. The menus were sticky and creased and maybe even stained with food. The table was also a little bit sticky, yet the place was empty. We got the "full sized wings" -- the "Zig zag wings" as the waitress called them. I found them to be fine, but overdone, and my wife agreed. We were ok with the dry rub but the "Black and Gold Sauce" we were told was a spicy barbecue but it was really a honey mustard sauce. It was $15 for 6 of these wings, which means you paid nearly $4 per wing, which is highway robbery. I got the Reuben. It was not soggy in the middle but not that good. I would say it was mainly bread. In comparison to other Reubens, not that special. It was strange to be offered the chance to order a "half Reuben" which made no sense. Fries were OK. Doubt I would order this again. My wife got the "Rib eye" which was basically a cheese steak. Again we were offered a chance to order just a half. Had we done that I think we would have been livid. It was a 6 inch sausage bun with some steakum and swiss. Boring. I think, aside from the burgers, we were just not excited about the menu at all. It seemed to have a lot of the big eyeroll items on it. Sort of like pineapple pizza or chicken barbeque pizza. Do people not realize these recipes were invented by Pizza Hut and Dominos? Gross. I suggest if anyone goes there, order a burger. So, two sandwiches plus fries, an appetizer of Wings, a 16 oz beer and a 22 oz beer ended up being over $80 for what was ultimately a mediocre experience. read more

Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating (in front and rear)- my favorite menu items are the apple pecan salad and the jalapeño burger! Strawberry margarita was very good! I really want to give more stars but this place has been going downhill for a quite a while now. It's very obvious there's no chef anymore; the food is subpar at best. Burgers barely warm and forget about hot fries (when you ask they say there's a draft in the kitchen). Do yourself a favor and DO NOT order anything complex....i.e...Cajun pasta etc...they'll screw that up worse than anything. Bottom line this place USED to be great. You can't blame this downhill avalanche on the economy; owners and managers have to own this failure! Seat yourself--heated outdoor area, outdoor area, indoor bar area, comfortable dining area. Great drink specials! Seasonal beverages and specials. Multiple gluten free options! Let's start off with the waitress. She was very nice, and she was also the bartender. We sat outside so she had to run in and out waiting on both us and the bar customers. Outside seating and the waitress were the only good thing. The music was terrible. 70's rock isn't my scene, and Pink Floyd is horrible to sit and listen to. I should have shoved a fork in my ear and maybe it would have helped. Third, and final, the food. Awful. Very high priced. I got a Reuben and fries. The corned beef wasn't cooked at all, the sauerkraut was from a jar, and also not canned correctly. It didn't have the sour taste. The rye bread was decent. First visit was excellent . Had very nice draft list at great prices. Had the garlic cheese bomb appetizer and they were a hit . Good amount for the cost as well. Had a Reuben with fries and that was amazing . No fat on the Reuben and it was nice size . Bread was toasted and not grilled which I preferred so it was great for me . Steak salad was good size and was enjoyed just as much as everything else . Very clean space that had the right kind of lighting which made the experience even nicer. I so wanted to give higher stars, because the "taste" of the food was good. But our experience with some of the issues that occurred necessitate me not doing so. It was happy hour when we got there, and I tried one of their mules. This was very good, and I would definitely get it again. To start, we ordered the Pretzel and the Fried Mozzarella appetizers. The pretzel was great. The mozzarella on the other hand, was a whole different story. The breading that they use was fantastic--however, when you bit into them, 3/4 of them were empty shells. I'm not sure if they are using such thin slices, and then trying to bread them, that the cheese melted away and "evaporated" some how, or what... but we were left with a plate of empty breading pockets. (See picture for example.) We showed our waitress, and she promptly got us a new order, and told us that this is an ongoing issue. The sad thing is, though, is that the 2nd order that she brought out was not much better. Over half of these were empty pockets as well. Very sad, because the few that did have cheese in them were excellent. I left the shells out to be seen, and I know our server heard us discussing how ridiculous it was that even this new order had empty pockets. Unfortunately, they were never addressed again. For my main meal, I tried their Forged Steel Burger. This burger had so much potential. It really did taste great...until I realized the egg that was put on top of it was still slimy and uncooked. (See picture for example.) Seeing others' reviews about getting sick, now I understand why. If this type of thing is going on, no wonder others are getting sick. Food is pretty good and prices are fair but my son ordered a 16 ounce beer and received a 9 ounce and the waitress sad we were wrong and wouldn't even check with bartender. Is was a small round globe that you couldn't get a 12 ounce soda in. It was obvious to everyone but her. She was also very slow to serve but don't remember any issues last visit. Saturday afternoon, April 8, 2023, for a late lunch we ordered all GF for two of us: garlic Parmesan wings, chips and salad with medium-rare steak. We were there during happy hour so we decided to try a couple of the appetizers. We got the spinach and artichoke dip and the pretzel. Both were actually really good and large portions. For entrees my husband and I ordered burgers. I ordered the Crafthouse Burger. It was tasty, but just a bit dry. Could have used more sauce. I got chips with it. They were good. If you LOVE beer, then you will like this place. I think that BEER is their 1st customer draw since they have more than you would need. Also, I believe BAR food is their 2nd draw. As we waited for our server we were entertained by the annoying music. It was distorted and very annoying. When we were finally waited on I informed her that the music was annoying, her comment was the manager likes to play funky music. We ordered our drinks which took forever as we listened to the terrible music. As I was getting up to check the music inside another couple told the waitress the same thing I did that the music was annoying. Annoying enough that they left their drinks and left. Since we ordered an appetizer I decided to order a half shaved ribeye sandwich and fries and my wife ordered a salad. After waiting for our food the waitress apologized for the wait and served our food. My half of a sandwich was so tiny I would not have put it on a plate, maybe 3 inches if that. It had enough meat and cheese in it but we both laughed when it was served. The fries were just OK. My wife's salad was just OK she was rear impressed with the balsamic dressing. I got off the road because the snow got to bad and had to get a hotel. This restaurant/bar is pretty much directly next to the hotel. I ordered mashed potatoes with gravy and meatloaf. It also came with Broccoli and a side of soup. I got the beef stew soup and it was pretty good. It didn't have a lot of salt but they gave you salt and pepper to go so you can control your own destiny. The meat loaf was some of the best I've ever had in my life. The bartenders were great also and the service was swift and fast. And the next time I drive through, I might just take the time to drive the 2 miles off of the exit to get here...... This place is actually NOT good for groups. Waited for 45 minutes to get seats for about 16 people. They don't take reservations. Then, when the majority of our party was finished, the female manager(?...she stood with the waitresses) began taking the tables apart while a few of us were still sitting and talking. I wouldn't mind if they cleaned up, but be polite and let us know. Also, after we waited so long and the place was no longer busy, could you please not be rude, especially since we spent a lot of money and left a nice tip? (It wasn't closing time). We felt like we were in the way and left. We were going to go spend some money in the bar but decided against it. On the upside, most of the food was good.
