My family loves the taste profile at the Meredith inn as well as the summer music tent. But this review is for a large surprise 80th birthday party we had yesterday. We approached Emily about the party of 30-40. We ended up with 40. We selected 4 appetizers; bacon wrapped scallops, bruschetta, meatballs, and crab stuffed mushrooms all were fantastic. We had 3 choices for entree selections that came with salad or soup. My cousins wife and I were talking about the soup hours later. And the meals came out hot and perfectly cooked and seasoned. We can't say enough nice things about Emily and the waitstaff for our party! We kept bringing up issues and Emily handled everything with such professionalism that we felt confident things would go well. They accommodated our handicapped, special needs, and allergen sensitive guests in a way that was appreciated by all and seamless and unnoticeable. We all had a very wonderful time. Good food bad survive. I'm not sure what more I can say . Every time I go there they skip over me and take the person behind me .

I made a reservation. As I was on Google Maps, it noted "dogs allowed." I called to confirm this. Dogs are allowed on the porch but not inside. I canceled my reservation. This is a higher-end, priced restaurant. This isn't the ambiance I'm paying for. Maybe they have good food so I gave them 3 stars. For me, bringing dogs on a restaurant premises doesn't mix. read more

This place was amazing. The food was fresh and very tasty. The balsamic dressing on the salad was excellent. Had steak baked potato and delicious spiced cauliflower. Wife had crab cakes and was in love with the first bite!!! Service was excellent. Very attentive and knowledgeable. The place was decorated for Halloween and was just wonderful. I am not one to keep pestering a business, and I am not one to bash local restaurants, but the experience I had here along with the interactions that followed after I had left a Google review has been absolutely ridiculous to the point of the mangers and owners contacting other members of my family. Here is the original post to Google: hate leaving bad reviews, especially for local restaurants... But.. I had to. Two days ago I made a reservation for our engagement anniversary. I wanted to treat my fiance to a fantastic dinner, and I had been wanting to try this place out for a while. We arrived and was seated immediately. We were given menus and that was it. We didn't get seen, or even were asked for drinks while we waited. Everyone else was taken care of hand and foot while we quietly waited. After about 30 minutes we decided maybe they were too busy, and we didn't want to have our night ruined, so we started to get up to leave. Of course that's when someone came up and asked if we were waited on and we politely told the waitress that we were going to another restaurant. She pleaded we stay and that they would make it right on the bill. I assured the waitress that it wasn't her fault as from what I could tell, it wasn't even her area of the restaurant. I commend her for trying to make it right and I hope she didn't get in trouble. I see this as a manager's problem as they need to see the floor and notice why people aren't being served. I understand nights get busy, thats why I gave them a chance even though I had a reservation, we politely waited for 30 min before leaving. I would have given a better rating, but as we left, a man by the door looked back at the waitress and stated "They will be back don't worry". I just chuckled. If you're that smug, I definitely don't feel quite as bad leaving this review. I will say someone did try calling me from here, and I appreciate the reach out, but we were enjoying another fine meal by the time I got the call. Sorry it didn't work out tonight. Best of luck to the business." Since then, I personally have been contacted many times about these issues along with the mangers and owners actually messaging me on my private social media accounts, and phone numbers. I politely asked them to please leave me alone as it was my right to leave a public review. On Feb 17th 2024, my father calls me saying that he got a screenshot of my review from what I understand is the Co Owner of the restaurant. I can absolutely see that they are now trying at every angle to get me to take down this review. It is ridiculous that an establishment will go these lengths to cover their tracks. In the same day, I was named in their Facebook posts along with another bad reviewer that had a similar experience. I don't know what else to do at this point. I want my life back, I want my family left alone. All this is over a bad review for a bad experience I had. What do I need to do? Call authorities? Or take to local news channels? Honestly that is so petty to do and quite frankly it isn't worth my time because this whole situation is ridiculous... But if constant harassment keeps happening, you bet that I will take some sort of action to resolve this. read more

We had reservations for Thursday evening to celebrate a friend's birthday. The food was good and after finishing our meal we decided no dessert just coffee. We were enjoying the evening when our waitress Mackenzie took it upon herself to tell us it was unfortunate but we had to leave because another party had arrived for their reservation and our table was needed. A group of us went for lunch on 12/16 and were thrilled with not only the delicious food and great service but the beautiful surroundings. Lea really chose the most beautiful, appropriate holiday decorations that would have been there for that time period. Most of us had the shrimp and fries and they were done to perfection. So I have yet to dine in here but I will say that the takeout is A1! I was so impressed by the raviolis I had, that parsnip purée was such a nice touch, I've always thought they were an underrated root veg and I love seeing them used. I wasn't a fan of the chicken parm sauce, that's totally just me I'm very picky, but my boyfriend had absolutely no complaints and said he would order it again. The steak on the salad was a real steak, love to see it, and I would for sure recommend it for a lunch or app. I loved the beet salad, the dressing was great, I'm always happy to see mixed greens, and it was a generous portion. The Meredith Inn participates in a fund raiser for a Harley Davidson dealership. We went to the Meredith twice now driving an hour each way only to find out they were closed. They don't update their website on their hours over holidays. We will never be back and will let this Harley dealership know how they handle their website. read more

Only a half dozen beers in tap, but everyone was awesome! Entrees were top notch and fresh, a little pricey compared to the area but well worth it if you're willing to pay for what you get. Great place to take a date, beautiful ambiance. read more

This review is for the patio. The inside restaurant and food is great. The outside patio - not so much. It has a separate kitchen and menu. The food service is so slooow. Drinks came quick. By the time I got my food, I was so hungry I would have eaten anything...even when it was mediocre. I ordered the fish sandwich. It was supposed be so fresh...as if just caught! Nope! It was a triangle fish filet right out of the freezer- hard and 1/4 inch thick. Very tough to cut. The tarter sauce was rancid- we sent that back and they found a new bottle. The bun and fries were good. Oh, beware - a tablespoon of ranch dressing on the side is 50 cents. I don't have a problem paying it - I have a problem with them asking! They charged me $15 for a air fried frozen fish fillet and still want 50 cents for ranch dressing. Why did I not send it back? I waited almost an hour for that. It was not inedible- but McDonald's fish fillet is gourmet compared to this. Order anything else but the fish. Everyone else enjoyed their food. read more

First time at this restaurant was fantastic!!! Had the blacken shrimp and grits with salad wedge for appetizer. My husband had the Smoked Trifecta and I had the Prime Rib. We celebrated my mother's 75th Birthday with a nice dinner at the Meredith Inn. She's been wanting to try it after reading about it. Great location right on the river and is beautifully restored! No detail has been missed inside. The chef had some really great lentos specials that were delicious. We started with hot pretzel sticks with assorted meats and cheeses with garlic roasted peppers served with a good grainy mustard and a beer cheese for dipping. Coquille St. Jacques was great with nice chunks of scallops, shrimp, mushrooms with a great white wine and gruyere cheese sauce served with a nice spinach salad. We also had the fish and chips which the chef treated with a light batter and a great cook! It was some of the flakiest cod I'd ever had. We also had the southern fried shrimp which paired a nice crunchy old bay seasoned crust with plump and juicy shrimp. We ended with a birthday brownie and ice cream and an awesome carrot cake! Highly recommend the Meredith Inn for a nice special dinner! Well done to all that had a hand in opening this venue! read more

Was in Kittanning for annual Dental cleaning and my brother told me about this place, so we decided to go there for supper. WOW, what an amazing place! Recently renovated previous YMCA building that was actually build at the turn of the century (1900), and it was incredible. Menu was great and the Cod was the best I ever had! Service was great, bartender was super, atmosphere was unbelievable right on the Allegheny River! I don't do it often but I Strongly recommend this place, you will love it!!! read more

Maybe I shouldn't have gone on Halloween, because the service and the food were a fright. This casual, up-scale place located in a renovated mansion failed to live up to expectations. I saw their menu on the internet and thought it would be nice to try their Reuben egg roll appetizer and their tossed salad with smoked egg and pickled onions. Sounds good, huh. Well it would have been good if they would have included egg on the salad or gave enough pickled onion to actually taste it. The egg rolls had great eye appeal and were fried to perfection, but they had very little filling and were plated, halved, open side down, so when you picked them up, the meager filling they did have, fell out. I ordered the chicken kabob which was made from a piece of cut-up, reheated (overcooked chicken). It was dry, chewy and awful. I was told the coleslaw was made in house and was of a fine texture, well I'd bet a week's pay it was bagged angel hair slaw. No matter how many issues I had (and there were more), including being overcharged, they never came with an apology. I really wanted to be able to give a better review, but this place was bad. read more

First visit to this beautiful Inn. We had dinner with 2 other couples and our server Quinn was awesome! Drinks were all excellent. The stuffed mushroom and smoked egg appetizers were so tasty. We ordered ribs, cod and the special pork loin- we all loved our entrees. Everything was hot upon arrival and the salads were refreshing with lemon vinegarette dressing being awesome. No one makes steak better than I do. Always disappointed when I order out.... not here... tasty done to perfection. Love the atmosphere and great service. Have been there twice and really pleased both times. Love catching trout and don't care for eating it. The trout is even good here. Going Friday for lunch can't wait read more
