Ryan's Creek House is becoming our go-to restaurant when we want a break from cooking. The restaurant itself is gorgeous and they offer awesome specials throughout the week. We really love their chicken salads and their extensive draft list. We are always happy with our food no matter what we decide to go with. I did however give them a 4/5 because our food always seems to take a while to come out. One night for wing night we waited almost 2 hours to get our food. We went with a rather big party for wing night! It was 7:00 Service was a tad slow, and we didn't get our food until 8:15. It's very loud inside even with only being half full. However the wings were really good! They honey Sriracha wings were by far the best and definitely a must try! Jumbo wings are 99cents and boneless are .50 cents! I wish they had a drink special menu for cocktails, but they do have a fully stocked bar! I got a caramel apple mule and it was absolutely delicious! They do have a kids menu and are kid friendly! So disappointed! All I wanted for Mother's Day was to finally try the fish but when I tried to order it I was told they were out of tartar sauce. How do you offer fish without tartar sauce?! We tried to order the stuffed peppers appetizer and they were out of them. We ordered the potato chips and they came out smothered so thick in the seasoning that I actually inhaled some of it while eating a chip. It looked like the lid fell off the seasoning container. Once we ordered it took at least an hour for us to get our food and they weren't busy. There was no wait time to get seated, no large groups, most of the seats were empty so it should not have taken that long. My daughter got the Alfredo and it was so under cooked the pasta stuck in your teeth and the sauce had no flavor and it seemed curdled. My husband, son and I all got different burgers and we all agreed they were lacking and the french fries were even nasty. How do you mess up French fries?! Everything was very bland and had an odd aftertaste that is still lingering hours later. In all honesty, the only thing good about our experience was the Pepsi fountain beverages. If you're looking for a good meal, go elsewhere! I know we will not be returning. read more

When this restaurant first opened it was good. It seems to have gone downhill some. We ordered takeout. We are in the area working on a house. This was Saturday night, May 10th. We ordered to go. They told us it would be an hour and a half. We are 10 minutes away from there. After an hour we went to pick up. They called as soon as we got in the car to come pick up. When we got the food to the back. There were no utensils. The food was cold!! Not even warm. We had 24 wings with 1 small container of ranch, and one small container of blue cheese. All I can say is Wow! We were blown away by the service and the delicious food! I had a half dozen chicken wings, which were so big, one was literally the size of my hand. My daughter got a fish sandwich, which was the most massive fish sandwich I had ever seen and she said it was delicious. They have a wide variety of options and appetizers....we chose the hot cheeseballs, and they were amazing. I highly recommend you check out this place, we cannot wait to return and try other dishes. It's a bit of a trip to get here, but it's worth the drive in the country. This place is like a want to be family sports bar in the middle of nowhere. The building is impressive. If you can get past the gravel parking lot, you will be greeted to a Montague of craft beers. Big screen televisions and high cathedral wood ceilings with a huge fireplace in the center of the dining room. Lots of appetizers to choose from a wide array on the main menu. There are several big TVs to catch a game. The server I had was really attentive, friendly, and did a great job. The food at the end of the review was just ok. Waited 25 minutes to receive drinks. 15 minutes later (already have been there 1 hour 35min) the waitress tells us that the kitchen is not accepting anymore food orders. Gave us our checks and that was it. Meanwhile we had a reservation so they knew we were coming. No systems in this place. It's the Wild West. Some tables before us got food and drinks fast. I don't typically start a rave review by talking about the restroom but it was an hour drive and a girl had to go! Ron Burgundy would describe it as smelling of rich mahogany. I think it was just the delightful scent diffuser they had sitting on the ornate granite and copper double sink. If a restaurant has a clean restroom, they have a clean kitchen. This restroom was spotless! We were seated promptly so I immediately joined my partner and we reviewed the menu options. I'm a craft beer snob. I usually struggle to find something I haven't tried. I struggled picking which four beers I wanted to add to my flight because I hadn't tried many of them. I made my selection and Carrie was endlessly patient with me as she waited for me to pick the numbers to tell her. They were all delightful, I was not disappointed in what I ordered for my second flight either. Our food order was promptly taken and I ordered "Daddy's Money" a 12 oz. hand cut, butchered in house, New York strip steak. It came with a baked potato, vegetable, and soup or salad. I had the French onion soup. It was comparable to Dobbin House in Gettysburg. Yes, it was that good. The steak melted in my mouth and I think I could have cut it with the fork alone. So tender, so juicy. I don't know why I agreed to the potato. I hate potatoes. But there was something about it's brown little jacket that looked warm and inviting so I tried it. It was delectable. I never thought I'd call a little dirt spud delectable, but it was. I'm sure the cowboy butter and fresh sour cream helped. Asparagus is something I love, can't cook it to save my life, but I love it. I appreciate it when someone can make me perfectly cooked asparagus and it was. Not too crisp, not too soggy. Just right. My partner had the buffalo chicken salad. Not something I would have ordered with all of the other phenomenal options but hey, he chose to get heartburn. Not the fault of the restaurant, it was his only silly choice knowing he has crippling acid reflux. But he ate it happily. I snuck a few bites and liked it as well. It's rare to see a place include green and black olives as well as pickled beets in their salads. Looking back on it, I don't blame him for ordering it. The ingredients were crisp, fresh and unique comparatively. We had zero room for dessert, sadly. This gem is halfway between our house and camp. We will be visiting much more in the future. Well done! Oh, and the crisps... Try the starter of chips. The ranch dipping sauce is different. Great, but different. I'm not sure what spices they put in it or on their chips but I could swim in that ranch. Try it, check this place out! It's probably frowned upon to swim in their ranch, so maybe don't try that. Stopped in a couple days ago for pizza and wings about 4pm. Didn't wait too long for a server, but after receiving our food, she didn't stop back until we were done eating. The pizza was OK, soggy in the middle and not quite average. Wings were DRY, overcooked by a lot and hardly sauced. We each only ate one wing of our dozen... $18. Told the server we can't eat them because they were so dry, so she checked with the manager. His solution was 'we can make you another batch of you want'. What? This used to be a great place to go. I heard the owner got a job somewhere and is leaving a lady run it. I can tell you she has taken the class out of the place. It is no longer a family friendly environment. She dresses like it's a night club/stripper joint. She flirts with the customers. I don't want my young son or daughter being around such filth. We ordered simple apps that took about 20 minutes. The restaurant was pretty empty at this point. We both ordered burgers with fries. I wanted mine medium but cane out well done. The burgers need sone sort of seasoning on them. Very bland. The fries werent that great either. Fresh cut fries that just didnt have good flavor and they werent hot when we got them. The worst part of the experience was listening to the kitchens radio over the restaurants music. Also the screaming of a woman in the kitchen due to horseplay. Very unprofessional. Third time eating at Ryans. Our table ordered a pizza, wings, steak and of course crab cakes. The pizza? It was EXCELLENT! Definitely going to order again. I am not a big fan of the bigger wings but, there was a good mixture of big and small. I tasted the steak and it was very good also and cooked the way it was ordered. The crab cakes are my go to dish at Ryans ( best around). The soup I got was Chili, and it was very good ( could have been a lil warmer). The chili had a lot of flavor and the beans didn't over power the bowl, and we will order again. Our server was great also, very attentive and stayed on top of the drinks. Ryan's Creek house is amazing. Sadly, Matthew B was there recently and he really created a bad experience for himself. He was sitting across from our table and when he sat down he said "I can't wait to give this guy a bad review" and then ate every last bite of his meal. I don't think he even tipped. In any case- the owner is super friendly, always comes out from the kitchen to talk to patrons. It's amazing that he still has a full time job AND runs a restaurant. Ah..the former Pitzers location. Brings back some memories. First off, let me say that they have done a great job with the build out of the location. It really is nice with the custom door, plenty of space and tables inside. Nice mix of rustic and modern amenities. Outdoor eating space would probably go a long ways during the Spring/Summer/Fall months of the year if designed properly. The wide beer selection of micros was a really nice surprise. I always appreciate seeing a lot of local breweries from Western PA mixed in with a selection of other top notch micros from around the U.S. Service was prompt, quick, and accurate. Wasn't overly busy when we arrived, but was filling quickly as we left. No issues at all on the service side of things. Prices are not bad. It is not gourmet, but a better menu than your standard bar food. Sampled a few different things from the wings, to the crab and filet plate, and the salmon and rice dish. Wings are good sized and are full wings when you order. Limited selection of dry rubs and sauces holds back the potential though. $9 for half a dozen at regular price is not a terrible for a decent quality wing. Not sure a soup bowl sized serving of ranch though is really needed and seems like a lot of it would go to waste. Salmon and filet/crab dishes were okay. Nothing to write home about, but decent for the area. I am very glad to see it was busy by the time we were leaving. As someone who is not from the area anymore but grew up in the surrounding area, really hope to see the place do well and stick around. So many places of the past decade have went the wayside with dwindling populations and its location out toward Crooked Creek is not a heavily populated area. Keys will be for them to have good daily specials, find some unique food items to offer, and keep prices affordable for people in the area. Wish them nothing but luck moving forward. read more

usually we have a good experience but i just want to note that it was hot dog night and it was not busy except for the fact that they had slyfox brewery there and apparently they were all that mattered. we ordered a loaded hot dog with onion rings after an hour we still were told 5 more min 2 times so we cancelled it and left without food but prior to this we sat for 15 min without a drink. meanwhile the bartender was waiting on people she knew and kept telling us our food would be out people all around us were getting there food while we waited for a hot dog with onion rings. read more

Food was excellent but service is definitely lacking... we went a few week after it opened and the server brought us steaks but no steak knives... and then we had to wait 10 minutes for her to come back! Ryan's is hands down the best restaurant in the area. All food is fresh never frozen. Staff is super friendly and always hustling no matter how busy they are. They are very attentive and do everything possible to make your visit the best. The bar is huge and has large selection of beers that you won't find most places. The daily and weekend specials always have a wide variety to choose from. The owner, Ryan, is generous and always willing to help the community and his customers. He is a great chef and it shows in the food. Matthew's review is a reflection of his own character instead of Ryan and his place. Basing a review on someone's perceived appearance says enough about the person writing the review and anyone can see it was based on personal feelings not the restaurant.
